Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 8°, wet and windy. I think that's the forecast for the day. Marydoll 💐. Rosesandlilac fingers crossed for your adoption application. I hope Sar is alright after her fall.
Yesterday was fine. Dgs2 woke grumpy and was difficult both before and after school. I managed him but it was tiring. No tantrums though, so that's a blessing. I had bought a bed for dgs2 and stipulated no delivery at the school run time. Of course, two minutes before I was due to head off, the can arrived. Fortunately they were happy to build the bed and lock up if I wasn't back and that's what happened. I think I have erred though. Two beds in the room are very tight. I'm having to squeeze in the door and opening the blinds this morning required flexibility I just don't have! Dgs1 isn't happy as he doesn't like sharing a room with his brother. However it's only for the rare occasions I have both of them overnight. I've started to give them a pound pocket money on a Tuesday if they tidy up etc. Dgs2 dropped his pound getting into the car and I could not find it anywhere. He was so upset. His dad gave him a pound and he was happy and then I eventually found it in the drive when I returned home. Cataract eyes aren't as sharp!
Today I have things I could do this morning, but I'm going to be lazy. I'll work in the school library this afternoon. I'll probably make a chicken and chorizo dish for dinner with gnocchi. Have a good day all.

Morning from a windy but dry Co Durham.
I ended up in Urgent Care yesterday evening! I had a nose bleed just as we finished eating. It wouldn’t stop and after an hour I rang dd1, ( dh can’t drive at the moment as his leg with the dot is still swollen), she arrived in twenty minutes and off to the hospital we went. Of course it had stopped when we got there. I was seen quite quickly and they said it looked ok but if it happened again to see the GP. Was advised to avoid hot drinks for a while. Didn’t sleep well as I was waiting for it to happen again.
Quite a minor thing in comparison to the troubles of some of you lovely people, but then I’m a wimp of the first order.
Not the best start to my birthday today 😂.
Hope you all have the best day possible.

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Wed 05-Mar-25 08:09:08

Good morning everybody from Málaga where it’s wet out. Must have rained during the night then. No idea yet what are plans are for today. We will decide as the day unfolds and see if it stays dry, although the weather forecast for the next week at least looks pretty dismal!

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Wed 05-Mar-25 08:12:27

I’m already missing Ashcombe wishing us all a happy hump day! Haste ye back dear lady. x

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Wed 05-Mar-25 08:15:28

Bunk beds further down the line perhaps Grandmabatty?
Such a nice idea to have pocket money day every Tuesday. Carrots always work better than sticks!

harrigran Wed 05-Mar-25 08:16:33

Good morning from a very windy NE, it was so noisy during the night that I had to wear earplugs.
SIL is coming this morning and we will do a grocery shop and probably some admin after lunch.
Have a good day.

Nuttynanna2 Wed 05-Mar-25 08:18:43

Morning all. Have just washed all.the floors downstairs and now having my tea and toast. Lovely to see the sunshine again. A bit of frost left on the grass but it will soon go. Gardener coming over later to talk about removing a very large horizontal juniper that is taking over the lawn. Sad, it has been there for forty years but it has to go. Will be interested to see what is under it, a lot of detritus and bare ground I imagine. Will need a.lot of clearing out. House and garden too big for me now. Husband has no interest in either. Unless it has an engine, it's not on his radar. Tea and toast finished, time to clear out the log burner ready for this evening. Big online grocery shop at Tesco later, laundry and cleaning looming so better get on. Hope you all have a lovely day.

Good morning all. The stormy weather which started late evening yesterday has continued on and still in full force this morning in Glasgow.

A three way FaceTime catch up with my girls once DD1 has dropped GD2 at school will be a lovely start to my day. DD2 is busy ticking off her check list ready for the arrival of Cyclone Alfred in Brisbane tomorrow. Her new house is in much higher ground, no flood risk when her last property was submerged during the flooding in 2022.
I have a dental appointment late morning and some paperwork to forward on to my FA now that probate is at last, complete. A great relief which sees the end of a stressful last few months.

Best wishes to all for a good day with hopes of a better day for those struggling on through difficult times.

Gingster Wed 05-Mar-25 08:29:28

Good morning all

Glad you got home safely Sar. Look after those bruises.
Sorry to hear about your brothers wife Brooke 🙏.
I do hope you can get some relief MD.
I’m glad you got your appointment over with Madeleine. Take it easy today,

I’m not receiving any e mails which is so annoying. DIL came round and spent an hour trying to sort it with no luck. Im in the process of deleting hundreds of photos (perhaps that’s the problem). I’ll take it into the chap in town and see if he can shed light in the problem.

Meeting my friend for coffee later.

Take care all 🌱

Grammaretto Wed 05-Mar-25 08:31:13

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Cold and overcast but should improve.
I visited my poorly friend yesterday who was really perky and wanted all the gossip!

Such a shock for your family brook
60 is too young.

Yarn group today and I'm viewing another house for sale this evening. I hope it will still be light!

Fingers crossed 🤞that you and the dog are a good match Roses

So sorry Marydoll I hope someone can really help free you from pain.

Bunk beds next time Grandmabatty My boys loved them.

Hope the day goes well for everyone.

Morning from a foggy S Hants, Happy Birthday GrandmaC47 🎂🥳🥂I get horrendous nose bleeds and sometimes need cauterisation, it’s scary.
Garden faffing yesterday, a friend here for coffee and cake, then a meal out with quiz team.
Today will be quieter, towels to wash and seeds to sow.
I hope you’re hospital appointment today is constructive Blossoming

Grandmabatty Wed 05-Mar-25 08:39:53

FGT and Grammaretto, I wish I had gone the bunk bed route now. I could have got rid of the one single bed and put in bunk beds. Oh well, hindsight is a marvellous thing. Ash I'm missing you too. I hope you were able to get help from your doctor

GrannySomerset Wed 05-Mar-25 08:53:15

Another frosty night but looks as if we will have another beautiful day so worth the cold nights we have been enduring. Singing this afternoon and history society this evening means quite a busy day and I must chase the builder because the leak into the kitchen, possibly caused by failing render, is worse. May need to look for a different builder I fear. Could do without it.

luluaugust Wed 05-Mar-25 09:05:17

Happy birthday GrandmaC47 🎂

Taichinan Wed 05-Mar-25 09:06:55

Good morning all from grey skies on the Angus coast. I'm trying hard not to feel grumpy about the grey - we've had such a wonderful run of sunshine all year up until now.
So sorry to hear about all the aches and pains and sadness amongst us, particularly the death of your s-i-l Brook flowers
Happy Birthday grandmaC47 and I hope your nose behaves today.
A 'bitty' busy day for me today - not at all interesting so I won't bore you with it. Have a good day everyone and enjoy your ☀️🌱🪻🌷

hollysteers Wed 05-Mar-25 09:12:54

Good morning Mick and all from a brightening 6°C northwest coast.
Small turnout at the music club and I forgot to take my bunch of (fake) tulips for “Tiptoe through the Tulips”, so sang another song instead.
Long FaceTime with soprano friend late afternoon after a little food shop. She’s just returned from Dubai and Thailand and is having panelling put into her new build. I need to decorate a couple of rooms myself, it’s just getting round to it…

I need to chase up what may be investments left by DH I didn’t know about, so phone calls and emails today.
Thoughts to all with troubles of any kind and I hope you have the best day you can🌺

Wonders will never cease! I have a face to face with my own elusive GP.

Good morning from a sunny midlands. A banging headache all night and not much sleep! Grrr! Good news - two granddaughters coming this Saturday night. Yahoo! Have a great day everyone.

Georgesgran Wed 05-Mar-25 09:48:46

Happy birthday GrandmaC47
Hope your nose is on its best behaviour today. I had a spate of nose bleeds some years ago - they didn’t bother me at all, but I remember a child in House of Fraser having hysterics as blood suddenly poured down my face! They stopped, as mysteriously as they’d started.

Ladyleftfieldlover Wed 05-Mar-25 10:11:03

Marydoll

Wonders will never cease! I have a face to face with my own elusive GP.

Excellent news!

GrannyGravy13 Wed 05-Mar-25 10:25:00

Happy Birthday Grandma 47 🎂🥂🥳

Maria59 Wed 05-Mar-25 10:53:37

Grandmabatty I had a similar problem and bought a trundle bed. One slides under the other then when required bottom bed slides out and legs click out making large double or 2 singles

Grandmabatty Wed 05-Mar-25 11:26:46

Maria I did think about that, but changed my mind and got the same bed as dgs1 has. My mistake!

Litterpicker Wed 05-Mar-25 11:31:37

Good morning from West Sussex by the sea. It’s misty here today, after several days of blue skies and sunshine. We had a lovely day on Monday, exploring some of the coast and harbours round Hayling Island. This was after DH’s appointment to be fitted with new hearing aids - he was referred back to the NHS from Specsavers, a year ago. He was warned that there was a 5/6 months waiting list so waited before ‘chasing’. He was told that he was still on ‘the list’ but if he was willing to go to a hospital further away, he might get an earlier appointment. He said ‘yes please’ and within a few days he had an appointment.
New hearing aids in, he could even hear the birdsong as we walked.

Marydoll, I do so hope your GP can help - even one mouth ulcer is horrible. I can hardly imagine the pain you are suffering.

Brook, sorry to hear of your brother’s loss of his wife 💐

Grammaretto, good luck with the house viewing. And the declutterring!

I’m so grateful for all the inspirational people on here who keep posting of your daily struggles and joys 💐.
