Good Morning Friday 7th March 2025
(44 Posts)Bon voyage FGT
Good morning all it’s a little dark and cold here on the east coast of Fife with rain expected later on.
It’s no wonder I have the blooming lurgy returning from hot weather in Tenerife to a bitter cold weather here in Fife. I did have a brilliant holiday I’m sure I’ll get rid of the lurgy soon I’ve a medicine cabinet full of cold remedies.
Have a good day my friends or as best you can and keep safe
Good morning from a bright W Kent. Yesterday’s sun sent us off to our favourite local garden where we had a walk and some lunch. Today I think we are visiting the local garden centre and I have my deaf club meeting and a pop into the GC
Safe journeys FGT and LLFL
Morning everyone, one of my gym pals is picking me up again this morning, I will do what I can in the class.
We are going to a different Indian Restaurant for dinner this evening, it used to be a regular haunt but haven’t been for about 10 years. Have heard so many good reports about it recently, so fingers crossed.
Safe journey FGT2 🛬
I expect LLFL is on her way home 🛬
Have a good day folks 🙋♀️
Good morning everyone from mid Essex. A milder night last night, so no frost. Still sunny although I think showers may be forecast later.
Yesterday the temperature reached 18 degrees in my garden and I did a little more cutting back of plants. The grass is growing fast and is desperately needing cutting. Unfortunately my battery mower isn’t man enough for the job, my friend will do it with his petrol mower when he has time!
DD2 is taking me to the local garden centre for coffee this morning, we may share cake!
rosesandlilac how exciting that you’ve been approved to adopt the new little dog!
Safe journeys home to fgt and llfl. marydoll I hope you aren’t too exhausted after looking after the duracel bunny yesterday, and hope you organised the insurance for your DH’s new car! Good you were able see your doctor and I hope the new meds work for you.
Have the best day possible everyone.
Good morning all from a greyish North Leicestershire.
This morning I have to go to waitrose and the butcher's and then I am meeting DS1 for lunch.
Have the best day possible everyone.
Morning Mick, morning All. Our corner of a Somerset is much milder, dry at the moment a mixed day is forecast.
We had a thoroughly enjoyable day yesterday. Cheddar was very quiet allowing us to enjoy the cave spaces with no sense of rush. I worry in case I hold other people up. The many (very wet) steps were a challenge at times, all worth it for sure. We admired the folk climbing Jacobs Ladder, definitely very many steps too far.
Our neighbours are coming for coffee this morning. Always an enjoyable time although there has been some worrying health news for them. I must make a couple of phone calls first. This afternoon comes the challenge (and expense!) of passport renewal.
Look after yourselves everyone. Have the best day you can.
Good morning from Shropshire. It started raining about 5pm yesterday and forecast to rain all day today.
I am going out for lunch with a friend today.DH will collect the children from school and bring them back here for their Friday sleepover. It is their Eisteddfod at school today so they will be in their Welsh costumes.
Wishing everyone a good day🦩
Good morning from a hillside in south Glos that’s a bit damp around the edges, we’re obviously had a shower sometime overnight.
Yesterday I finished tidying up the front garden, lots of bulbs, primroses and pulmonarias emerging. I just have a bit to do in the back garden then it’s just the usual weeding etc, I’m sure plenty will emerge as it warms up!
I went to art group in the afternoon, only three of us but it was very enjoyable, lots of nattering and tea.
I had a good phone call from our lovely vet regarding my dog’s struggle with being in the car, it’s been getting worse recently and it upsets me so we’ve been avoiding going in the car. She’s suggested some medication that will help so I need to go and collect it from the vets sometime but not until my new bank card arrives.
We’ve been approved for adopting the new little dog so a trip to Wales is on the card, maybe a few days away while we’re there 👏. I do love Wales, we’ve been going there for years and years. The unpredictable weather doesn’t bother me one bit, I don’t like hot weather anymore.
Today there’s the new art group this morning with my friend, dog walk this afternoon and probably more bits in the garden. It doesn’t look like we’re getting much rain.
I hope today goes well for you all 🌹
Good morning everybody from Málaga from where we are homeward bound shortly. Just enjoying TIB before a Weetabix breakfast. I will ring for a taxi to the airport and we will sit and enjoy a coffee once we are through security or ‘belts and shoes’ as I call it. Funny how we are both awake a good half hour before the alarm was due to wake us! We often finds this happens do you?
So nice to have the images option back again. I love reading posts with a pic!
Good morning, Michael and all GNs. A moody sunrise developing. “Red sky in the morning…..”. After a few days of sunshine, rain is forecast today. The weather in March and April is fickle. I was looking at some photos on my iPad yesterday and in April 2018 we had a good covering of snow here!
The decorator came and seemed happy with what needed to be done - he left a couple of paint charts and will send me a quote today. He’s busy, which is a good sign, but I’m not in a tearing hurry.
School volunteering today - with luck I shall be able to walk there and back.
Have the best day you can, folks.
Good morning from s somerset, cloudy and dry today
I have bits and bobs to do, including a quick visit to the plot as I want to dig out the 9 jerusalem artichoke tubers that I planted, they will grow 12 feet tall and will `walk`. They will cast shadow and be slightly invasive so it is best to remove them now, while still dormant. The soil they are in is nice and loose, it will be an easy job
I have an aching right hand today again, it has happened previously from overuse and a bulky overnight splint helps. I know I need to rest it for two to three weeks so no spinning for a while and no heavy right-handed work for a bit
My probiotic `yoghurt` which is not yoghurt but like thick greek yoghurt, will be ready in one hour and I started the fermentation of beet pickles last night, they have 62 hours left. Tofu also made from dried soya beans, now compressing in the fridge and I will start to use today
I made and froze wholemeal bread rolls yesterday, I have vegans coming to my gathering and one is also allergic to sesame and peanuts, I cannot trust any bought bread for him. Planning and buying is going well, everything will be on a picnic help-yourself basis
I can see myself doing lots of reading today
Have a good day
Morning all!Alton has daffodils snowdrops and crocuses. Will investigate community cupboard then go on library computer and see if my book is in
Good morning Mick and the early birds! A day of showers 🌦️ is promised before reverting to glorious sunshine 🌞 for the weekend🤗
Hope FGT and LLFL have a smooth return ✈️ to Blighty - love reading travellers tales and now we’ve got our photo facility back, even better!
Some culinary goddessing overdue at PG Towers (and it won’t be MrPG stepping up…😉) batch cooking of bolognese, Thai red curry sauce and chilli con carne so that I can swan around for the whole weekend 😇
Will trot along later to read of your bizzinesses x
Good morning from Bristol.
I’m exhausted, I had a rotten night, waking almost hourly.
We have several winter flowering cherries out, loads of daffodils, and a random damson. I have seen blackthorn out in a couple of places.
My taichi class was great - again a good workout. I’m always very sleep afterwards, so had a nap after lunch.
I’m getting on well with my quilt. My “sewing” room faces east, so is now less cold and more tolerable. It isn’t worth the expense of turning on the night storage heater for my occasional use.
Today, after Spanish, I’ve got to make cakes for Iris who is holding an afternoon tea tomorrow. She needs to raise money for her “Flamingo Chick” trip to Disneyland Paris. The group does dancing for disabled children. They have taken over the place to show how inadequately equipped it is for various disabilities.
Remember to perform a random act of kindness today. Hugs to all. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩
Good morning from Malta where it has been raining since last night and shows no sign of stopping.
I’m just having my coffee before going to look after the boys. I’ve been up and down since 2am again.
Hair and nails later then meeting family who are over from the UK for a few days.
Wishing you all a good day.☀️
