Good morning everyone from an overcast Northampton, but sun is expected; at least it's nice and mild.
Was pleased to be able to hang washing out again yesterday on my newly installed washing line; I kept going to the window to look at it!
Dance classes this morning. Then a visit to the bank followed by coffee in the bakery - on my own this week as my dancer friend is away visiting her daughter.
Home to marinate some chicken for a biryani; an easy recipe popped up on Facebook this week so will give it a go. Catching up on my pile of magazines afterwards.
Safe travels to those on the move today, and happy landings.
Now off to make my porridge; need some fuel for dancing!
Great minds think alike BlueSapphire

Good afternoon all,
The bright morning has started to cloud over now. It’s been really lovely with sunshine and warmth. I hope it’s not going to rain as I’ve got some towels out. However, they might be dry now, I’ll pop out and check once I’ve posted this.
You’re late getting daffodils and crocuses mick. They’ve been out a while up here, making the place look cheerful.
Nice to see the photos some of you have posted. I’m glad that facility is back up and running.
Grammaretto, Bad Gateway means the GN server is down.
Oh dear writing on my phone on the jolty bus is not a good idea.
Wishing you all well.
I was locked out of gransnet this morning. Not sure why. It just said bad gateway. Great to see the photos and read the news.
I had to shop for a new kettle so am on the bus. Our teacher is retiring at the end of the mont
I went to ceilidh dancing last night and only sat out one, very energetic, dance.
Exciting about the dog Roses
Oh dear! Hope the photos trickle through soon. They were there when Ipreviewed my message.
Good morning all. It’s a damp and dreich day so far in Glasgow., after a welcoming sunny day yesterday.
Good news yesterday, my loose fence panelling can be repaired with stronger posts. No need to replace. Phew. Hairdressers in the afternoon followed by a, what is now a much quicker and half empty trolley Waitrose trip shopping only for myself. Lots of buds forming on trees and shrubs along with snowdrops, crocuses, daffodils and tulips shooting up. Spring is on the way.
Beautiful work GM. The pops of red are striking. Safe travels home FGT and LFLL.
Best wishes to all for a good day.
Hopefully a couple of photos…the mosque in Casablanca and orchids from the specialist garden in Tenerife. Also one of the glorious windows from a Catholic Church also in Casablanca.

Good morning all from a wet Glasgow, where it is 7°C.
Yesterday was exhausting, after a day of childminding. We did have a lovely morning in the park, where croci and daffodils were abundant.
However, as the day went on, I began to feel really weird, not helped by Little Miss's defiant mood. I was in bed and asleep, before 10pm ( unknown for me), after being violently sick, due to my new medication.
The men arrived to erect the scaffolding, a huge, ugly construction!
They were highly entertained by Babydoll, who kept blowing them kisses!
This morning, I have a funeral to attend, clear up afterwards and make a quick dash to the supermarket. I'm still feeling rubbish, but definitely an improvement on yesterday.
DH has to pick up his new car today. Its early arrival has caused him no end of anxiety!
We were unable to change his insurance online last night, so I have written out -- a script-- the details for him to phone at 8am. This is not an example of coercive control, but last night in between bouts of nausea he caused me no end of stress, having lost the spare key, which I found immediately, forgetting his password, which I also knew and having scant details about the specification of his new car,
It saddens me to see how elderly, my once sharp witted husband has become and he will not listen to advice.😪
Safe journey home to all travellers and hoping all, who are unwell feel better as the day progresses.
Have a pleasant day folks.
Good morning Mick and all GN's far and wide. Today a very grey, misty still morning. No sign of sun, no sign of life outside at all. Wish I could report lovely flowers opening up but at the moment the only daffodils visible are some I bought yesterday to cheer the day!!
Rubbish night, annoyingly fell asleep in the chair, whilst watching a play. So woke up cold and stiff about 1.30am and then couldnt get to sleep for ages. Then woke about 4.30am and no more sleep. I am getting so out of kilter at the moment, but probably thoughts of tuesday are not helping either!
So todays excitement is I am creaking off to a chess class at 10am. They started last week for absolute beginners and I have chosen to go to that to reinforce the correct things I already know and to stop me doing the wrong things. It is fatal to any good gaming in the future if I have misunderstood or got the wrong idea from the bottom. I can see that lately I have begun to do more board games and of course the good thing is that it doesnt rely on my being able to move physically, but I can see that on nights I cant sleep I can spend time thinking of possible moves and stop thinking about my back and the fact that the rest of the world seems to be asleep but not me!!
So no great excitment today, after the chess class a little shopping, maybe a coffee with a friend and then back here. Hope to check with my tape and decide where the new (to me) bookshelves are going. Then I shall enjoy filling all the shelves and going through all my books , whilst listening to GQT on the radio. Sounds quite a boring day , but after all the stress lately I am actually looking forward to just plodding along.
Do hope that the travellers all have safe journeys home. Looks as though the promised cyclone is arriving slower than expected and that should allow people to have been able to put measures in place to secure things and keep themselves safe.
grandMattie, Sorry you have had a rough night, but at least you have those lovely flowers to enjoy. Wish I had a TARDIS so that I could transport myself to some of the gardens you write about . Cant even see one snowdrop out here - although I do know that there quite a lot out in various gardens round here (that I cant get to either at the moment!)
Oh well folks, have the best day you can and treat yourself to something, not necessarily spending money. I intend to do some of the jobs waiting for me , but know that in the middle of sorting the books I shall become engrossed in one of them and sit reading surrounded by half done job!
Good morning all and we’re due another sunny day.
I’ve been awake on and off with a dull headache and stuffy nose. I think I’m fighting off a cold. Dh and I don’t usually succumb to colds but he has one and I seem to be incubating one. 🤧.
We won’t meet our Friday pals as we don’t want to spread our germs. 🦠.
Take care 🌱
Good morning from another glorious sunny Suffolk. We’ve been so lucky to have had this week of beautiful weather in March.
I had a really good day in London yesterday with my friend who invited me to lunch at the RAF club in Piccadilly. The food was excellent and the talk by Sam Leith( who I didn’t know was Prue Leigh’s nephew) on the importance of childrens’ literature was interesting.
Today I think DH and I might go to Southwold for a walk on the beach and coffee and cake. Although the main beach is closed to dogs til next month, there are parts which never close so we’ll head there.
I see that the photo facility is back so I’ll try and locate a couple of photos from our recent holiday.
Good Morning from Durham. Another grey day, rain forecast later, but feeling warmer. ‘Yo-yo’ weather, as it was glorious yesterday.
I’m meeting a friend for coffee this morning, but she has to rush off to meet a joiner at her son’s house to have a new door fitted. He’s a man-child!
DD2 planned to take DGS2 back to a local farm, but the prospect of rain means we are going tomorrow instead, so, as it leaves my afternoon free; a quick Tesco shop then more work in the garage. It’s slow progress, but getting there.
Best wishes to all. X
Good morning Mick and all from grey Carlisle where we have evidently had a shower overnight.
Yesterday was a lovely day, I went out in the garden to do some planting after lunch and got rather warm such was the mildness. I think we hit 14°C. The blackbird was singing away and I spotted my first butterfly of the season, a small tortoiseshell. Plus, my first tulips are in bloom.
I needed a bit of peace in the garden after the morning when I wrestled with a tech problem on my iPad and had to seek advice from DS2 in Australia! Then it was on to sort out my house insurance, I changed suppliers in the end, saving myself £80p.a and on top of that, I found I'd won £100 on the premium bonds. So, although I don't really need one, I'm going to treat myself to a pretty summer blouse I've seen.
Today, more admin in front of the computer and later, I'd like a walk and I'll do some reading of magazines and a new book.
That's a beautiful cushion cover grandMattie, anyone would be delighted to receive that.
Have a good day everyone.
Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 8° and damp. I'm joining the bad sleep last night brigade. I was up at two having a cuppa. GrandMattie the cushion cover is really pretty.
Yesterday's highlight was reading a book to the infants at dgs1's school. They are very sweet and seemed to enjoy it. Dgs1's teacher wanted to borrow the book for their writing next week. When I had finished story telling, I took it to their class and she showed me his writing from this week. I was impressed!
Today I'm going out for breakfast with dd. We don't often get time together without the boys, so I'm looking forward to it. We are trying a new café in town which has been getting rave reviews. Later I'll do some housework. I might load up the car with stuff for the charity shop and take it there tomorrow morning. Have a good day all.
Photos back yippee.
Those crocuses are lovely whywhywhy we have some clusters of them in our garden but not as prolific as those.
I'm sure your neighbour will be delighted with the cushion cover grandMattie it's lovely.☀️
Good morning all from a dull Black country where we have had overnight rain, I think more is predicted for later.
We are picking the boys up again after school have been informed Dgs1 aged 9 has given up chocolate for lent.
Over to the club later meeting friends.
Glad you have approval regarding your adoption of a new dog Rosesand lilac perhaps you will post a picture.
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans, safe travels those on the move and virtual hugs where needed ☀️.
Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s still grey and cloudy, still no sign of the sun
Great news rosesandlilac, a new addition to the family!
A trip to DD2s this morning, a quick class at the gym then coffee with my pal are all on the cards today so quite busy. Yesterday I managed an hour in the garden which was so therapeutic even though it was cold and windy. There’s snowdrops, crocus, tete a tete daffodils and primroses all flowering so the little early spring corner looks very pretty and colourful
Hoping all travellers have safe journeys today
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐
Good morning from a dull Black Country where rain is forecast later.
Great walk yesterday in glorious sunshine. We sat outside in the sun at the cafe.
Taking Mum to the Memory cafe today then lunch out afterwards.
Talking about Jacobs Ladder cornergran I remember a visit there as children. Mum, Dad and I were walking up slowly and my brother ran up , came back to see where we were, ran up again , came back down etc! 😀
Wishing you all the best day possible
Morning from a damp S Hants, dull with light rain. After stretch class yesterday I rang the local man who fixes domestic equipment, the dishwasher was making a horrible noise. He called in about 2:30 and fixed it, £60, a bargain, today sorting out the patio, it needs a good clean and sealed with moss prevention stuff (technical term!)
Coffee and cake with a friend in our local this morning, Tesco delivery this afternoon and back to the pub tonight.
🦩🦩
GrandMattie - wow you are so talented! Such beautiful work. X
Good morning from a cloudy but dry midlands. Been awake most of the night with sciatica and a banging headache. Had these headaches before and I think it’s a pesky cluster headache. If no better on Monday then I’ll head to the drs. Saw some beautiful crocuses yesterday. Hugs to all who are suffering in one way or another.
