Happy birthday Rosiesmaw 🎂 enjoy your week of celebrations 🍾

Taichinan Thu 13-Mar-25 08:29:25

Good morning all from the Angus coast where there's snow on them that hills. DD and Partner were walking up there at the weekend in short sleeve order -although they did notice small pockets of snow, meaning there was more to come.
What amazing before and after photos *karma". Congratulations on your well-deserved 🏆.
I hope all goes well and you get your DH home today llfl.
Ash lovely to see you back.

Happy birthday RosieandherMaw 🎂🍾🎉🎁💐

Grammaretto Thu 13-Mar-25 08:11:17

I hope the X-ray will reveal the reason for your pain Kalu.
I can highly recommend the Golden Jubilee hospital where I had my new hip 10 weeks ago. I was on the waiting list for 2 years though....

RosieandherMaw Thu 13-Mar-25 08:10:52

Good morning all from N Bucks and bright sunshine! Cold though, but a glorious morning to turn 77 on.

Arts Society this morning which I hope doesn’t over run as I want to be at my Art History class this afternoon on “Forgotten British Artists” I could Zoom it but want to see the good friends I have made there in person.
My birthday celebrations were last Sunday so I think it might just be a glass of left over Crémant with a friend and neighbour when I get back. But plan to go out to lunch tomorrow.
Sorry to hear so many of you are poorly or in pain and send all possible positive vibes for your relief. 💐

Kalu Thu 13-Mar-25 08:03:02

Good morning all. We have a light frost this morning in Glasgow, otherwise, a dry sunny day to look forward to.

A busier day ahead today with some admin and a visit to a nearby walk in clinic for an x-ray on my knee this morning then hairdressers followed by a Waitrose shop this afternoon. I have ordered a Tens machine in the hope that it will give some pain relief for sciatica and whatever is going on with my knee now. 🤞

A well deserved award karma. What a terrific transformation to achieve.
Nice to see you pop in this morning Ash. Take care.

Best wishes to all for a good day.

Good morning from a slightly frosty and bright, sunny Suffolk. I got an appt for 9.30am yesterday and was able to reassure DD1 ( and also DH and myself) that the pain in my calf was muscular and not a DVT. Excellent service as ever from the surgery.

I’m off to my stretch class soon and feel very much in need of the exercise having been away from my classes for 4 weeks. Hope I’m able to get up from my mat at the end of the session!

What a transformation of that neglected plot Karmalady. I hope it continues to give you many years of pleasure and delicious produce.

Hope today is kind to all. I’m going for coffee after my class with friends who live very close to the village hall. Call me domestic goddess if you like! I made a lemon drizzle cake to take with me. DH not very impressed he couldn’t test it.

Grammaretto Thu 13-Mar-25 08:00:33

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Cold again but at least it's light in the mornings and evenings now.

I went to yarn group for all the gossip and the gym for my penitence. I even wrote the report for our church magazine I've been putting off.

Today chiropractor, visit to my dear but poorly friend and pack for going away tomorrow. Ceilidh dancing tonight if energy levels hold.

Karmalady you deserve that award/ medal! What a transformation 👏 😍
And what fun it will be to watch it grow.

I'm glad you are a bit better Ash.
I hope Mr Llfl is recovering well after his op.

Have a good day everyone, whatever your plans are.

Gingster Thu 13-Mar-25 07:54:30

Good morning all and it’s sunny but with ice on the garden furniture, here at the Suffolk seaside.

We’re travelling back to Essex today as Dh has dental appointments in the next few days.
We’ve enjoyed our few days here and will be back soon 🤞.

What is it with door handles here? Summerhouse, shed, potting shed and yesterday the bathroom door wouldn’t open. A good job no one was in there! Dh has replaced it. 😤

Karma fantastic work!

I hope you all have a ‘good’ day.🌱

Good morning from a wet and windy NE
Yesterday the weather was really miserable which made the shopping trip unpleasant.
After we returned home and put the shopping away I changed into dry clothes and we went out for lunch.
We decided to finish the afternoon with a trip to a nearby retail outlet which was successful for me, bought a number of birthday cards, a jumper from Crew, trousers from M&S and perfume gifts from the cosmetics company. Jo Malone perfume for DD's birthday was reasonable as they gave me a 20% discount.
In dreadful pain today, chest and arms are really uncomfortable so I will have a quiet day, definitely no housework.
Have the best day you can.

EkwaNimitee Thu 13-Mar-25 07:51:48

Good morning Mick and everyone from sunny, frosty Carlisle where it is currently 1°C.
No end in sight to this weather but it's certainly preferable to rain and greyness as far as I'm concerned.
I stayed in yesterday, finishing off housework and ironing in the morning, reading and sorting out my sitting room book collection in the afternoon. Only one has gone into the charity shop collection!
Today, I shall do what I fancy as I fancy it! Plenty of entertaining choices are at hand. Quite probably I will be taking a hard look at the books in my office of which there are far more than downstairs.

Good to see you Ash. I hope the source of the pain can be tackled rather than just dosing the pain?

A justly deserved award for your hard work karma....long may you enjoy your plot.

Have a good day everyone!

luluaugust Thu 13-Mar-25 07:49:49

Good morning from a chilly W Kent. Art group this morning and then DH has a visit to the medical centre for ear wax.
Karma wonderful transformation

brook2704 Thu 13-Mar-25 07:44:48

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s cloudy and quite chilly, with some light snow on the hills in the distance
Hoping you can bring your DH home today llfl and everything has gone well
I’ve nothing much planned today but lots to keep me busy. I really want to get out into the garden but I think it’s still too cold to do much so I might go along to a new class at the gym instead.
Lovely to see you posting again Ashcombe, pleased your DH managed to visit despite the difficult journey, take care
Fantastic progress karma well done, you’ve achieved such a lot and the trophy is very well deserved
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

whywhywhy Thu 13-Mar-25 07:35:47

Good morning from a cold and grey midlands. A phone call with a great Long distant friend this afternoon. Shopping this morning and try and do some sciatica exercises as well. Then start a baby cot size patchwork quilt later. Annoyed with DH but life is too short to have an argument. Have the best day you all can. Hugs. 🤗🤗🤗

GrannyIvy Thu 13-Mar-25 07:29:08

I am so sad to read of those struggling with ill health other issues so very hard and thinking of you all and sending best wishes 🌺

BlueSapphire Thu 13-Mar-25 07:28:25

Good morning everyone from a cloudy Northampton,.but I can see the sun peeking through.

Seemed to spend most of yesterday cleaning and tidying the sitting room, which certainly needed it! I also got two loads of washing done, and dealt with a Sainsbury's delivery. Not so much to do next week now, when I host a meeting of our ladies' wine club. I have already bought the wines, just food to organise.

A neighbour is coming for coffee this morning - lots to catch up on, and I need to ask her for a lift to and from an ex-neighbour's 60th birthday party next month.

Then this afternoon will go into town to the bank and attempt to see my bank manager, as I need to re-organise a couple of accounts.

Wow karmalady, .you have worked miracles on your plot; what a transformation! I wouldn't have had a clue, or have your imagination and energy!

Have a good day everyone, with more sunshine than showers!

monk08 Thu 13-Mar-25 07:28:16

Good morning all from a frosty Black country.
Yesterday's playgroup was busy again the tea urn wouldn't heat properly I think it hadn't been put on earlier enough so it was kettles to the rescue, fortunately they have more than one.
DH has doctors appointment for his blood pressure later.
Ash lovely to see you posting glad to hear your pain levels are more manageable take care.
Karma what a transformation you deserve your award may you have many happy hours there.
Llfl hope you can bring OH home.
Best wishes to anyone celebrating and safe travels those on the move, virtual hugs where needed.
Have a good day everyone whatever your plans ☀️

Redcar Thu 13-Mar-25 07:22:23

Good morning everyone. It’s cold, grey and breezy here in mid Essex. No showers yesterday, but sunny spells and still cold. We may get showers today, who knows! I didn’t go for a walk yesterday but did my exercises twice and did quite a bit of housework.
Good to see you posting ash I hope your pain has eased and you are more comfortable now.
karma well done for transforming your allotment, the trophy is well deserved.
llfl I hope your DH’s operation went well and that you are able to bring him home today.
Have the best day possible everyone, keep warm!

Grandmabatty Thu 13-Mar-25 07:22:22

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 1° and sunny. I will have to scrape the car later. Ash it's good to hear from you. I hope your pain subsides and is manageable. Karma what a lot of hard work and such a transformation!
Yesterday I resembled a sloth. I only brought the bin in from being emptied and loaded the dishwasher.
Today I have a fairly early hair appointment then I will do a stint in the school library this afternoon. In between, I'll potter about. Marydoll enjoy your run down the coast. Have a good day all.

Sallyforth Thu 13-Mar-25 07:22:13

Good morning Mick and everyone from a very cold frosty morning in Cheshire. Wish I knew how to load a photo of the moon last night, it was stunning. Glad I don't have to go out too early to craft club this morning so perhaps the frost on the car will have gone by then.

I was in awe at your accounts of you trotting off to your allotment Karmalady. It looks amazing! Congratulations on the award!

I've often wondered why we need notices in the Drs, dentists' etc about not tolerating aggressive behaviour. Yesterday I found out why. The dentist was in the process of taking the impression for a crown so I had my mouth open wide anyway, when awful language and shouting erupted in the surgery next door. It is his wife in that surgery and I'm sure he must have felt like going out there but he never flinched. A teenager who was there with who I presume was his mother, was shouting and swearing. Did he have a problem behaviour he is unable to control I don't know, but it was very unpleasant for everyone.

Have you noticed how many of us are so delighted by being able to get our washing dry outside? smile

Take care everyone.

Susan56 Thu 13-Mar-25 07:20:25

Good morning from Shropshire.Another chilly start.

Mum seems ok after her fall yesterday. The ambulance took so long to arrive that she had been observed for twelve hours so luckily didn’t have to go to hospital.

We took DGD to her dance class. Her friend has decided not to go anymore after six years of going together.M was very nervous about going on her own so DD asked us to take her and make a special evening of it which we did and she had a great time and is looking forward to next week.Phew!

Today we are hoping for a quiet day at home.Usual household jobs then reading this afternoon.

Wow karmalady what a transformation.Amazing!Hope your husband gets to come home today and lovely to see you Ash👋🏻

Have a good day everyone🦩

Georgesgran Thu 13-Mar-25 07:18:06

Good morning from Durham. Another cold, wet day forecast. I need little sleep, but barely 3 hours isn’t enough, and I’ve a headache and sore throat today.
Little Dog is still sleeping,
Coffee with a friend at 10am. She accompanied her son on a new car buying mission yesterday, so I’ll get the story.
As the day progresses, I’ll decide where to walk Little Dog later.
Welcome back Ash. Your plot looks amazing Karma

Best wishes to all. X

GrannyIvy Thu 13-Mar-25 07:15:43

Good morning from Cambridgeshire.

Karmalady what you have achieved is absolutely amazing especially over the cold winter months. I enjoy hearing about your plot and hope you continue to enjoy it. Well done on the trophy 🏆 Well deserved. I look forward to seeing more pictures.

Today is Pilates class and a trip to M & S followed by some time cosying down with a book and a telephone chat with a close friend going through a tough time.

It was good to hear yesterday that there are other medical secretaries on this thread. I retired nearly five years ago after many years of happy times.

Wishing everyone a happy Thursday 💐

Marydoll Thu 13-Mar-25 07:13:13

Good morning all from a chilly Glasgow, where it is 3°C.

Ash, lovely to see you popping in. Living with daily chronic pain is not easy, it dominates one's life. I hope you find some improvement in the near future.

GM, I was sad to read your news, quite disappointing for you.

Susan, I hope your mum is OK.

Yesterday, I wandered to Silverburn, I just wanted some time to myself. Usually I factor in a Tesco shop, but decided that this would be solely a retail therapy morning. I wasn't disappointed and to my delight, got a few bargains in the tale end of the M&S sale.

However, I am now suffering from the effects of my biologics being stopped, increased pain levels and struggling to walk. You never know what you have until it is gone! I was like the Tin Man in Wizard of Oz! Unlike him, I don't think WD40 would have helped! 😉
I am between a rock and a hard place, suffer the excrutiating pain that come with having RA or suffer the excrutiatng pain of lesions all the way to my stomach!

Today we have a visit from Babydoll. A run down to Prestwick is on the cards, to try out DH's new car. We have decided to take a picnic, rather than go for lunch. My mouth is still painful and we wouldn't get a moment's peace from BabyD, At twenty three months, she has cleverly figured out how to release the straps on a high chair. I would be on edge the whole time.
I know she will have a ball, cannonballing promenading along the sea front, with no restrictions. The icing on the cake will be a cornucopia of dogs.

Wishing you all the best of days and hugs for all, who are struggling. Madeleine, I hope your eye is improving and a shout out for Blossoming.

cornergran Thu 13-Mar-25 06:58:44

Morning Mick, morning All. Dry and frosty out there. Another cold day for our corner of Somerset.

Yesterday slotted nicely into place although our walk was very short as it was so cold. The consultant phone call was a surprise, he was very pleasant and agreed I should stop the medication he asked me to try. The side effects are simply not worth it. I suspect he’s about to discharge me which is no bad thing.

Our elder granddaughter is 19 today, she begins her Australian adventure tomorrow. We’re going across for cake later. Otherwise an at home day. Mr C has begun a new model, I’ve some admin to do and a couple of friends to phone.

That’s a superb transformation Karma, you certainly deserved that trophy. Good to see you Ash, go gently. Hope you can bring your husband home today Ladylfl and Thursday is kind to us all.
