Good morning all from a chilly North Leicestershire.

Yesterday we got a request for volunteers for today at our local Memories in Sheds session. I said yes having completely forgotten how cold the venue is.

Today is DGS's 18th birthday - his chosen way to celebrate is to go watch the darts!

Although I read every morning I don’t post but just had to this morning on seeing karmslady’s photographs.
You have worked a miracle on your allotment and deserve your award.
Your work ethic put me to shame.
To you all, greetings and thank you for your posts every day.
They brighten up my morning.

Since beginning november when I got that plot, I was in auto pilot and worked 4-5 hours a day, I felt the urge to get up there and never really felt any aches. I just went day after day and suddenly it was done. Soon I will have a plot for pottering throughout my old age and can ride my bike to it and when I am really old, will ride my e bike. Somewhere to go and always nice people on site

I feel as though I have had unseen guidance, maybe I have, it certainly feels like it

Morning all from a slightly chilly West Oxfordshire. This time yesterday I was scraping ice off the car before driving OH to the hospital. This time last week it was 30 degrees in Sydney and I was wearing sandals!

OH reckons his operation went ok but will find out today if everything is working as it should be. Hopefully I can bring him home this afternoon.

I will probably catch up with a bit more WI admin today. It is the AGM next week, after which I will hand over to someone new!

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. It’s a moody sort of morning here in South Yorkshire and rain is forecast but as usual neither the Beeb or the Met can make their minds up as to when, therefore in two minds about walking group. I have no real enthusiasm for walking in the rain these days.

Good morning from s somerset, sun, clouds, dry, cold today

Relaxing nothing-much day yesterday, did nothing in particular, just the usual daily household stuff. I am gearing up for saturday and sunday when it will be full-on. I decided to take a step-back from doing it all at the weekend. Everything will be laid out in my kitchen, help themselves and no cooking whatsoever. These gatherings can be exhausting and all I will do is make tea and coffee and enjoy the company as befits my age

Meeting last night was excellent and I was very honoured and pleased to receive a trophy for my work on the plot. Before and after photos

I ordered shed and bench preservatives last night for 2 benches at home and shed on the plot. I have to go into auto pilot mode for those jobs but sunny days will help and I need to be ready to do them. It will happen as soon as the weather improves, starting with the shed

Thank you for all the kind messages of concern and the personal ones too. I haven’t felt able to reply as I’ve been struggling with pain levels. I seem to have turned a corner this week, helped by a flying visit over the weekend from DH. Unfortunately, he travelled last Friday when Eurostar trains were cancelled due to the discovery of an unexploded WW2 bomb near Paris! He travelled via Lille but it was nearer midnight when he arrived, more than six hours later than usual!

I might not post every day but just dip in now and then.

Good morning! It’s a very frosty hillside in south Glos this morning 🥶 with snow showers forecast- I walked the dog in sunshine early yesterday and 10 minutes after we got home it sleeted.
I totally lost my oomph yesterday, did very little and felt very guilty about it, goodness knows why!
Today I’m going to give the living room a good clean and tidy, pull out the furniture etc. It isn’t dirty but I found a bottle of orange oil furniture polish when I sorted out the under sink cupboard and I have some teak that I can use it on 🤷🏼‍♀️
I will walk the dog first then get on with it; kitchen floor needs a wash too.
Then I won’t feel guilty if I sit and read 😊 or do some drawing. I really don’t know why it makes me feel so, years of running flat out doing everything on top of a very stressful job? I’ve been retired for 6 years now so you’d think that’s long enough to reset my brain 😄
Anyway, I hope today goes well for you all 🌹

Good morning from a dry Bristol.
I managed to get a load of church towels dry on the line yesterday despite putting them out around 1pm.🕐
We had a wonderful surprise at the FAB cafe . One of the volunteers is a man with his own finance and legal business, who sponsors any number of AgeUK events, etc., and is extraordinarily general us with time and money. He hadn’t been seen since before Christmas, being “unwell” . He suddenly turned up yesterday. I asked if he had had an accident or been ill, he looked surprised. “You don’t know?”.
He and his family wen5 to Ireland for Christmas, he developed pneumonia which suddenly turned into septicaemia, his organs started shutting down…. He ended up in ICU for over a week, etc. although, surprisingly out of hospital fairly quickly, his convalescence has been slow. Everyone who knew him was overjoyed to see him again and looking so well DG.
Today, Taichi and loads of admin for the estate regarding our letter of complaint to the CEO. This requires careful listing of repairs and a polite but firm tone…
I was supposed to dine with DD but it has been cancelled, next week as well. It’ll be over a month since I’ve seen them…. I manage not to be needy and to be independent.

Good morning from Malta where we expect a high of 25°C. Strange weather at the moment.

I’m about to go to look after the boys as usual. No nursery today so a lot less stressful. They are both adorable and Twin 1 is, at last, getting the hang of toilet training! His brother has been out of nappies since August.
