So Gransnet has been down again since early morning again
No explanation that I can see this seems to be happening a lot lately what’s going on ?

Hi Tilly8, you should be able to check on this page - www.gransnet.com/member/email-options - whether we think you are signed up to our newsletter. If you are not, you can tick the box there and that should sign you up again,

I use Chrome on a PC and when GN goes down I just can't get in, no error messages.

Gransnet used to come through into my emails regularly which I really enjoyed. For some reason this has stopped and now I have to go hunting for it through Google. Would anybody know why this has happened?

Probably doing maintenance. All websites have to be cleaned up for security and performance.

Yes, I did realise they've probably been busy cobwebbing with a feather duster.

When checking if Gransnet is down a message comes up saying it's not just me, it's down for everyone.
There must be a lot of cobwebs around lately.

Yes we are usually made aware automatically. I got texts from a monitoring system this morning for example.

Hi all, apologies for the outages this week. We are going to do an update tomorrow which should put a stop to them we hope.

The errors you see are from "Cloudflare" telling you that they can't reach Gransnet. In general, when you request a page the request goes you -> Cloudflare -> us. If our site is unreachable they show that error message.

Again, apologies for this. We are working on fixing it.

Can I ask, are you not aware of problems, until GNetters report them?
I had always assumed that things showed up your end, in some way.

Thanks for posting. Could you let us know what issues you're experiencing - e.g., is the site completely inaccessible, slow, or showing an error message? Also, what device and browser are you using? We’ll look into it ASAP. Thank you.

Macbook, Sequoia 15.3.1, Firefox.

Site has been down several times this week for extended periods.

I always check with downforeveryoneorjustme.com/ Says not just me, the site is down for everyone.

Occasional bad gateway cloudflare error - sorry didn't jot down error code. Mostly browser just doesn't connect.

On some occasions site comes back up with bits of code in place of site elements.

No message for me this morning. GN simply didnt load when I clicked on the icon.

Fridayschild Sat 15-Mar-25 11:48:37

I just realised that I hadn’t had my Gransnet Daily email since the middle of February! It just hadn’t dawned on me - time does fly so fast when you’re enjoying (🤪) yourself. Hopefully by coming here and checking My Gransnet, it’ll start up again. 🤞🏻

It was completely down this morning for a few hours
Gateway message

I use Safari and Ipad

It was out for half a day last week and has had a lot of periods of being very slow and very sticky over the last few weeks

AGAA4 Sat 15-Mar-25 11:42:31

Error message. Bad gateway. Using chrome on my phone.

blue14 Sat 15-Mar-25 11:28:46

I use Edge on the laptop and Safari on my ipad.
The error message came up on both.
Can't remember exactly but something like gateway error 500.

Marmin Sat 15-Mar-25 11:28:41

There have been several long outtages in the past week - reported on the site you link to, ferry23.

If there is ongoing site maintenance, I am also curious why no blue messages have appeared.

Going to report own post to ask HQ to comment.

ferry23 Sat 15-Mar-25 10:54:54

I always check on downforeveryone

It would be odd if there wasn't an onscreen message for maintenance but unless I'm imagining it, it always seems to be early mornings (in the UK) at the weekend.

In answer to the op;
Yes, GN is often hard to log on to, and even then it’s really ‘sticky’ - it’s been like this for weeks.
Mumsnet is the same.

Churchview Sat 15-Mar-25 10:46:36

Good!

AGAA4 Sat 15-Mar-25 10:46:14

My Gransnet was down for half a day one day this week. Trump, Vance, Musk and Putin don't like what we say about them.

loopyloo Sat 15-Mar-25 10:30:23

I blame Putin.
