Local Councillors gone so far, Reform

A dark but a dry start here in brackley and hoping for a milder day.
Usual routine after some housework get the bus to Bicester , have a chat with some people I know .
Have a quiet afternoon , Health is OK ,
Take Care,
Mick
green!
I’m wearing greet Marydoll. I remember those sprigs of shamrock. ☘️
Good morning and happy St Patrick’s day from chilly South Lanarkshire.
Well done Iris 👏
Yesterday afternoon was spent restoring order after DS and children went home. It was a busy, fun, and tiring weekend but worth the chaos.
I’m going to our St Patrick’s Day Mass and tea in the hall then the Sunday collection has to be counted as we didn’t do it yesterday, two of us do the count and we were both under time pressures.
Will meet DH for lunch then have a walk with the daft dug.
Thinking of all Gransnetters coping with illness and worry today.
Good morning from a grey NE after overnight rain.
Yesterday's Mahler concert was most enjoyable and we were home without any hold ups, might have had something to do with the Newcastle match on TV. SiL was over the moon with the win.
Nothing planned for today so will have a quiet one.
Hope the day is a good one.
PS, I am wearing green, under my black coat! This was a tradition in school and in our family, but my mother's cousin in Dublin, who used to send us shamrock 🍀to wear, is long gone.
Good morning everyone from Inverness where we’ve blue sky and sunshine to start the day
Well done to Iris with her fund raising gMattie, that’s an impressive amount
Pleased the weekend went so well karma phew!
We’re off to DD2s this morning to do a few jobs, she’s just accepted an offer on her house so it’s looking like her house move is back on the cards again. DH will start on the garage and do a tip run and I’m going to help sort through the children’s wardrobes and toys
Kitty 💐
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐
Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where it is 3°C.
I'm extremely tired today, with a dreadfull headache, after spending hours yesterday, trying to get the garden in order. I still have lots to do.
The glass walls of the decking were covered in green algae, which took hours to remove. I was so frustrated, because I could not get the hose reel to work, in order to try and hose some of the gunk off. It turned out DH had locked it. Heaven knows why. Of course, he was enjoying himself at DS's and nowhere to be seen. Once I got it working, I discovered the nozzle was cracked and I got a bath, because he had left the outside tap on.
This was was one of DH's many misdemeanours yesterday.
My trowel and hand fork are missing, so I popped out to buy new ones. On returning home, I could not get in. Front and back doors were once again locked, with the keys in situ, (despite me asking him not to do it)
He just doesn't understand how anxious this makes me. I was raging at him, because he took ages to answer the door, which of course triggered off thoughts of him lying unconscious or even worse.
Many years ago, a similar thing happened with my mother, she had fallen and broken her hip, but had locked the door. A neighbour had to break down the door. She never came out of hospital after that.😢
There is a funeral this morning, so I will go down and help the duty sacristan with the clearing up. The book of funeral rites has fallen apart and I will need to try and patch it up before the funeral. Bookbinder, another one of my many roles. 😉
Best wishes to all and virtual hugs for those, who are struggling. A special shout out for Blossoming.
I also noted Bonnybanko's absence. I hope all is well.
They sun is trying to break through the clouds, hopefully I can get back out into the garden later, which always lifts my spirits. This nonsense with my mouth is really dragging me down. It continues to get worse again.
Have the best day possible everyone, whatever your plans..
Good morning all. It’s sunny but still nippy here in Essex.
I have the school run today as Dd still feeling poorly. I seem to have been waiting in school playgrounds for nearly 50 years! 😤.
Our new vacuum was delivered yesterday and is perfect. Trying to register the guarantee not so. We used to just phone up give the model number and serial number and ‘job done’.
Now it’s download this, download that , proof of purchase needed, send an email with photo. Well I did all this and then receive an e mail saying photo is blurred, start again .😤.
I must sort out clothing for my upcoming weekend away. Will it be cold/warm/rainy . Who knows! One of the friends I’m going with is travelling back from Oz having been delayed by the cyclone and resulting floods. She will be well and truly jet lagged.
Take care all 🌱
Morning all from West Oxfordshire.
Our cleaner should be here today. Meanwhile I’ll do a Waitrose shop. I’ll also drop off OH’s hospital letter at the Health Centre.
I may attend an in person or zoom meeting this evening on Lent. As I’m attending another Lent group tomorrow, I may give it a miss.
I need to finalise everything for Wednesday’s WI AGM. I won’t be quite finished as Secretary as after the AGM I will type up the minutes and scan and email all the reports to the Oxfordshire Federation offices. I also said that I would continue looking after the data base. At some point I’ll go through all my paperwork etc., ready for the handover to the new person.
OH seems to be improving daily and hopes to visit his bees this week. He is worried that they may not have enough food. He has some special fondant for them.
Have a good day everyone.
Good morning everyone from mid Essex. It’s sunny at the moment and a less cold 5 degrees outside.
DD2 called in yesterday morning and emptied the meter cupboard for me in readiness for the Smart meters to be installed this week (🤞). She could only stay a little while as her elder daughter had grading for Kung Fu later in the morning and her OH needed the car to take her to the venue. Didn’t see DD1 as both her DDs had grading too, at different times, and one had a swimming lesson too! Did a little tidying in the garden later.
greyduster I hope you feel better today. grandmattie well done to Iris for raising so much money towards her Disney Paris trip. I hope you manage to find some time to relax this week, despite it being a busy week.
I’m seeing my friend with dementia this afternoon as I’m out tomorrow.
Have a good day everyone.
Good morning from a grey W Kent. Cleaner coming this morning along with the builders to work on the roof. I shall be ironing and making tea.
Best wishes
Morning Mick, morning All from a less cold, cloudy corner of Somerset.
Nothing exciting happening here. Some paperwork to sort, maybe a wander out this afternoon.
Have the best day you can everyone.
Morning all, happy St.Patricks day 🍀
Off to the gym this morning, hopefully I can do a little bit more.
Other than that nothing planned other than school pick up of The Imp and 10 hr old.
Have a good Monday 🙋♀️
Good morning all from a cloudy and chilly North Leicestershire.
DD2 & 3 are coming here mid morning and then we are all going to the funeral of their friend who recently died of MND. He was a winning triathlete before his diagnosis and before his death, aged only 42, he had raised nearly £300,000. He was a lovely chap too.
Good morning all from a dull Black country where it rained overnight.
A little bit of housework and then back to my book so not much happening here today.
NannyJan safe travels and have a good holiday.
Best wishes to anyone celebrating and thoughts with missing posters, have the best day you can everyone ☀️
Happy ‘Saint Patrick’s Day’ to all our Irish grans! ☘️
Good morning everyone from south Manchester where we are only up at the ungodly hour (don’t you just hate the sound of an alarm clock nowadays?) because we are doing school drop off and pick up today (and tomorrow). Oh well, straight back home 20 minutes later! At least it’s dry ….
Good morning, Michael and all GNs. It’s going to be dreary but dry in South Yorkshire today, by all accounts. I was quite ill last night - obviously something I’d eaten but couldn’t work out what. I had quite a bland diet yesterday. So I feel a bit washed out this morning and will take it easy. I have to ring Mini and see what a new warranty for my car is going to cost me🙄! If I feel okay later on I will have a walk. But at the moment I’m not in a hurry to get up!
Have the best day you can, folks.
Good morning everyone from a very overcast and wet Northampton, looks as though today will be more of the.same.
Was nice not to have to go anywhere yesterday; got a load of washing done, and dried on the line. DD-out-law dropped by with DGD2's school blazer for me to sew a badge on. Got that done while watching the latest episode of 'The White Lotus' - a weird series with such awful people, but I love it! Then caught up with more recorded TV programmes
Yoga first thing followed by coffee at the little cafe round the corner. The library emailed to say that my reserved book was in, so will be able to collect that after yoga, as the library and yoga class are in the same building.
Need to do a few bits of tidying/cleaning this afternoon in readiness to host my wine club this week. Tomorrow will be spent shopping and cooking for it.
Have no idea what to have for dinner, shall have to investigate the garage freezer.
Wishing all a pleasant day.
Good morning all. 3deg at present, mostly cloudy and light rain is forecast for Glasgow today.
A list of phone calls to make, hopefully, won’t take up too much of my day. It may well be an at home day today but I will take time outside to have lunch in the garden room which gives me a feeling of being out of the house.
Best wishes to all for a good day.
Good morning Mick, Bellasnana and all who follow. It's dark still in Cheshire but doesn't seem frosty, so that's an improvement. I spent time Googling when we may expect the dawn chorus, clearly not yet! It's silent out there.
The news from my niece about my sister is that she may go home after she's seen the Drs this morning! No idea what that's about. She must now be on a waiting list for the open-heart surgery. Whatever. We can only put our faith in the skills of the surgeons.
I shall go for my acupuncture and chill.
Best wishes to all for a good day ahead with special thoughts for those unwell or with worries.
Good morning from s somerset, dull skies all day and breezy so it will feel cold
Back to normal now, the weekend was tremendous and tidying up took no time. I passed books, 5 fabric lengths of their choice and other stuff over to DDs and DIL. I am pleased about that, more spaces are appearing, albeit slowly
Today is a not-much day, I have craft group this afternoon, a lovely interlude including a couple of women of 90+ with such active minds and interesting down to earth conversation. Role models in some ways
Everywhere is tidy enough and I will be doing soup prep before I leave, my new one- person soup maker is very good indeed. I have to chop the veg small as it is the size of a vacuum flask. Today will be mixed veg and lentil (2tsp of lentils), much better than faffing around wondering what to have for tea at 5 and better for me than 4 identical soups via my normal sized soup maker
I have sent an e mail photo attachment re my new troughs, 6 arrived yesterday and 3 were damaged. I have no doubt they will be replaced promptly. They will all be for cascading begonias
Have a good day
Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 4° and damp.
Yesterday I had a visit from dd and the boys. Then I visited mum in the afternoon. She woke briefly but struggled to speak.
Today is early childcare day. I'm doing three days this week as the other grandparents are on holiday. This is going to be a busy week. I'll work in the library for a couple of hours and then home to wash the windows. Chicken curry for dinner, I think. Have a good day all.
Good morning from a less chilly Bristol.
Happy St. Patrick’s day to all those from the Emerald Isle.
I was exhausted yesterday. It has been a very long time since I mixed with so many people for so long. Most of Saturday ditto Sunday.
After the service, we hung around until it was time for our catered lunch. The food was nice but as there were about 70 and our table was the last to be served, the food although very nice, was lukewarm and the pastry on top of the pie hard.
Pudding was better but portions were enormous”
I got home a little after 2 pm and promptly fell asleep for nearly 2 hours. Goodness I was tired.
I did nothing all afternoon, dinner was a bowl of soup and early bed, after watching Bake-off.
Iris has been raising money for her Flamingo Chicks jaunt to Disneyland Paris at Easter. She had various events, including a tea party last weekend and a quiz night this weekend. She has raised a magnificent £1300!
This week is full on again. I hope next week is quieter.
This morning, I have to wash, dry and iron some 40 tea towels -result of catering for over 70 on two days…
Have a good new week, enjoy the warmer weather(although the sun is leaving us). Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩
Good morning, after 11 hours of sleep I feel better! It’s dry here in south Glos, I hope it’s a bit warmer today than yesterday when we had a bitterly cold north wind. At least all the washing dried well, I’m get the ironing done today after an early dog walk- I need to go to the post office while we’re out.
Unsurprisingly I was very tired yesterday after two hours sleep, not a lot got done except changing the bed and the laundry. I even fell asleep in my chair which is almost unheard of, so I was asleep tucked up in bed by early evening.
A few bits and pieces to do today before our trip to Wales on Wednesday; there isn’t any Wi-Fi where we’re staying so I will take a good book and my sketching materials.
Have a lovely day everyone 🌹
