Sorry Marydoll to blow your cover!
I'll shut up about it now. 😂🤣
Marydoll and others from the West, why did you never share this best kept secret? , because we wanted to keep it to ourselves.😂
My HT had a holiday home there and was a member of the golf club.
We couldn't see her for dust on a Friday afternoon,:as she rushed to catch the ferry.
Good afternoon,
Happy St Patrick’s day ☘️ to all who celebrate it.
A cold and grey day here, but we are promised that it will get warmer as the week progresses.
I hope you soon feel better Greyduster, upset stomachs are not nice.
Lovely photos, Grammaretto.
Good morning from a very cold , dull Co Armagh
Walked up to Mass , lovely singing and nice to see children with their parents ,
Warming up with coffee , I’m going to try a bit of crochet to see if it loosens up my hands, the seeds we were sowing yesterday showed how much I have deteriorated!
☘️
A couple of photos from Cumbrae. The Hills of Arran and the view back to the mainland.
Good morning everyone from the Scottish Borders.
Its a bit chilly. Just back from my oldies exercise class, and lost my early post so I am late but wishing everyone a Happy St Patrick's Day
I'm Irish on my mother's side and my DS lives in Dublin so Ireland is in my DNA.
I had an amazing weekend on the Isle of Cumbrae. There were pottery demos and workshops, good food and craic, porpoises and seals in the bay. Perhaps best of all was wall to wall sunshine.
Marydoll and others from the West, why did you never share this best kept secret?
Hoping everyone has the best day possible.
Taichinan I hope your grandson’s treatment is progressing satisfactorily. It’s a tough time for him and all who love him.
Very unusually I have meetings morning and afternoon so will need to find some time to have a chat with the gardener about the most important jobs as spring makes its presence felt outside. Did a little tidying yesterday and have the sore back to prove it but can no longer tackle the heavier or more demanding tasks which is infuriating. My admiration for Karma is even greater.
Good morning from a dull northwest coast.
DD arrived by car yesterday afternoon from the south, changed and I dropped her off for her close friend’s birthday party. I then picked up some foodstuffs and had a quiet night.
Today I will prepare for the music club and general house stuff.
Thoughts to all🌺
Good morning everyone. The weather is 'everything' on the Angus coast, but no snow or ice. It's sunny between the rain squalls - what more could a body ask!
After having ignored absolutely everything I should have been doing yesterday, I have a busy morning ahead and shall read all the good morning posts later as I sit by the pond in the warm sunshine - a dream of a reward to keep me going!
Have a good day everyone x
Madeleine, we are of a similar mindset. There is something very therapeutic about snipping!!!
Good Morning Mick and all GN's on early and happy St Patricks day to all irish GN's on a cold but clear so far , day here in North Yorkshire.
i am a rugby fan but have friends who are into football and so much joy at the Toons victory. I think there will be some happy but very weary folk at work today!! On local news last night it showed a schools efforts, last friday where the children had dressed in black and white and done decorations. ?They had sung songs and the deaf children signed to the song, and so I think there will be some very happy faces this morning.
Well my eye is still rather gritty and scratchy but improving, and my back a little better, and had planned to go out and have a little walk about this morning. Then looked on my calendar and found that today is the last day to pay the rest of my holiday money and also another bill owed today. With the eye stuff last week and not feeling so great, my usual checking of things didnt get done. So now I need to read through things and get stuff sorted this morning, but hopefully will get round to a bit of a walk this afternoon. Still this morning was pleased to see the room looks a lot tidier will all my mammoth efforts yesterday. - Not that a visitor would think it was very tidy, but I am pleased with my efforts!
granMatty hope you have a chance to have a rest today, but it is always good to see a line of clean towels waving in the wind isnt it/
greyduster, hope that you are feeling a bit better now., and just be kind to yourself and rest up
Marydoll, I send my sympathies and remember similar days occasionaly with my DH. So I recommend my answer to annoying days, get out the secateurs and snip snip away!! Every satisfying snip makes the plant look better and used to allow me to snip away my fury. I was once known, after a particularly exasperating morning, when I had already done the snipping of plants previously, I picked up a small branch that had fallen from the tree and snipped it up into about 8 peices!!! Ripping pages from calendars or notebooks also helps with annoyance I find. You should award yourself a decent cup of coffee and perhaps some cake or biscuit or whatever to cheer the moment. You deserve it!
Well I must get on with my plans and then will be sitting down for a much needed coffee myself.Hope everyone gets a little time to themselves today to enjoy. Have a good day whatever you do
Morning from a damp S Hants, we’ve had rain overnight and a happy St Patrick’s Day to you, MrJ will be forsaking the 0% Guinness tonight at quiz for the proper stuff. Lots of WhatsApp msgs this morning from the Emerald Isle.
Safe journey NannyJan I think it will be warmer.
Great football match yesterday, well done Newcastle, our grandson scored two goals yesterday helping his team win and he restrained his celebrations.
Usual Monday, voluntary phone, quiz tonight, I’ll get a walk in and check on seeds in the greenhouse.

Good morning from a dry, but gloomy Durham. Yesterday’s late lunch with the adds and DGSs was lovely - we didn’t watch the match, but could hear what was happening from the noise in the next door bar! Well done Newcastle United. SinL2 will be on his way home from Wembley, proudly wearing his free scarf.
Today, I’m going to get Little Dog out for a morning walk, then I’m taking my friend to an eye clinic for (?) a preliminary appointment, she hopes will lead to cataract surgery. While she’s there, I’ll drop off DD2’s laundry and Little Dog at her bungalow. Then, back to the clinic to wait for my friend, who I will take home. I hope she gets what she’s expecting!
Best wishes to all. X
Good morning It’s dry , chilly and calm here in N. Bucks.
Son in Law is having an op today so I have youngest DGS and will collect his brother from school later. It’s just a day case but DD needs to drive as it is being done in Surrey.
We’ll be off to ‘Mum & co. this morning, the rest off the day will depend on the weather.
Will come back later to read all your news.
Hope all have a good day.
Good morning from a cloudy but frost free Suffolk. I’m off to meet my friend who I went with to India in October 2023.
She lives in Essex and we usually meet up in Ipswich where, amazingly, our trains arrive within 5 minutes of each other. Given mine only run every hour, this works well. We have a favourite fish restaurant where we’ll have lunch and a stroll round the park chatting all the time I’m sure.
We have know one another for over 54 years and DH rates her as one of his favourite people….praise indeed.
Hope today is a pleasant one for all and those with health or other worries find some comfort.
Good morning from a dull and cloudy Black Country.
Thank you Monk. We will leave here for the train to the Airport around 11.30. Hopefully it is much warmer in Lanzarote.
Ekwa I think Bonnybanko was in Tenerife a few weeks ago?
Wishing you all the best day possible.
Baubles, our collection needs four and they took four hours last week, so it is done on a Monday. I try to stay incommunicado and feign busyness, as they attempt to rope me in!
Our numbers are going up all the time. We had at least 200 people at the Vigil on Saturday evening.
baubles
I’m wearing greet Marydoll. I remember those sprigs of shamrock. ☘️
I loved the excitement of receiving that little box. It was always accompanied by a letter from my mother's cousin. Her writing was so illegible, my mother never understood a word of the letter!
Good morning Mick and everyone from brightish and rather cloudy Carlisle. A showery day is forecast.
I had a relaxing day yesterday after an early post-breakfast walk. It was bitingly cold! The previous weekend I had been sitting out in a t shirt.
I seemed to spend a lot of time chatting on the phone, both DSs and my sister, which was good.
I also tried to book a holiday, not so good as apparently all the single rooms have gone, though they are going to try to get me one. I won't hold my breath, I expect it will be Plan B.
Today I will break the back of routine housework and laundry then read and brain train in the afternoon.
Marydoll wasn't Bonnybanko going on holiday, though I can't quite remember the dates.
Have the best possible day all of you.
Good morning from N Bucks where a grey “nothing” morning seems to be improving by the minute with glimpses of sunshine!
☘️Happy St Patrick’s Day ☘️and 🎉Happy Sixth Birthday 🎊to my grandson Otis too!
What a difference a good nights sleep makes- over 6 hours without a break as far as I can judge, maybe last nights Lemsip toddy made all the difference , I had felt cold and tired and shivery but this morning I’m fine again.
Out to a(nother) lunch with Art History friends - diet, what diet?
Bearing in mind many of you are poorly or beset by worries, I hope you can still have the best day you can 💐
