Unless or until it affects the emotional security, physical safety and or financial stability of my family, and by extension the world we live in.

Why on earth do you think some and I presume it is a lot of people, think the astronauts haven't left USA? There must be a reason for this opinion.

I don’t understand why people care about these things. What difference would it make to us who Macron or Obama were married to - none whatsoever to me, it doesn’t affect their ability to do their jobs. I’ve never heard a conspiracy theory yet that is worth following, I must be a cynic.

I don't think it is necessary to invent conspiracy theories about her, you just repeat the details of how they met.

The interesting bit is, for me anyway Namsnanny, what Brigitte herself actually said to French journalists. I can't remember her exact words, but it was something like she and Emmanuel were not an "ideal" couple in the sense of their ages,and that things were complicated. I'm guessing she just gives a subtle gallic shrug to any stories, so we shall never know either way on several counts.

I know a journalist of a very well known newspaper and they informed me that they had seen photographic evidence to prove that she was born a man. Were the photos fake? Who knows. I most definitely believe the journalist though. They were not allowed to publish them.

Personally, having researched the journalist who wrote the book about Mme Macron, He is anything but a neutral seeker after truth.

Xavier Poussard is the protegee of an extreme right wing writer and polemicist called Emmanuel Ratier, (now deceased). He was virulently anti-semitic and promulgated several conspiracy theories about the hidden Jewish takeover of France.

Mme Macron is also suing two women in the courts for libelling her by promulgating this lie.

As for the photo, well I will just type the two letters, AI, Mme Macron is not the first and will not be the last woman in the public sphere who has suffered from AI generated naked photos.

As for ^ the journalist of a very well-known newspaper^ Well, does anyone remember the News of the World and how even leading journalists were prepared to believe anything, regardless of truth, if it made a good story.

But I'm supposing there will be time lines of events, that can be verified.
Presuming that to be the case, readers can decide which parts if any they accept and those which they don't.

But as I keep saying this isn't about BM but about our attitude to conspiracy theories as a whole and ideas we don't like, how or if we ever change our minds, and how we deal with people with different opinions to ours.

Bit confusing to include some items that are facts and not "conspiracy theories" on there, ie:

- it's been all over the newspapers over the last week or so with the proof that Covid did indeed escape from that Chinese lab. Just as some of us have been saying all along. The Germans knew and Angela Merckl hushed it up. The British knew and Boris Johnson was quite clear it had come from that lab. Looks like everyone lied to protect their "relationship" with the Chinese government - who, as we know, have such a great regard for the truth (not!!!!)

- We've also known for some time that we don't want GM plants planted near normal plants - because they do contaminate them.

I believe the French have a very redacted press.
Meaning they can say even less about dignitaries or politicians than we can.

Secondly what does this evidence show? Can you clearly identify her as a male in the photo? Are you sure it is her, are you sure she is male, why do you care, what does it matter?

Presumably the journalist and a photographer were in the labour room, ready to collect evidence in the hope that one day this newborn baby would marry someone famous.

Well for a kick off a man is an adult human male. No one in the history of the world was born a man, I assume your learned friend meant she was born male?

It’s a well known journalistic ploy ask a scandalous question in banner headlines”Was Prince Philip Gay?” Or “Did the Queen Mum have an affair? “ (both totally ridiculous ) and then proceed to answer this hypothetical question in the negative.

The thing to remember is that the more you try and convince a conspiracy theorist that they are wrong, the more they become convinced that the conspiracy must be true - otherwise you would not spend so much time trying to convince them it is wrong .

So faced with someone who is capable of signing up to this mish mash list selection.of conspiracy theories and facts without discrimination. The only thing to do is to shrug and say 'whatever' and move on to another more intellectually challenging thread - like 'How to open a tin of salmon'

The point being missed is what makes people become so entrenched in their own belief systems?

Even more astounding is how just remarking on a subject it is possible to get a dusting down from someone who thinks the subject is off limits, but not off limits enough for them to just pass on by.

Open debates need free speech, which can't be had if people drown out others.
