Condenser boilers anyone

We had a Worcestor Bosch fitted last Sep with a 10yr guarantee. No complaints. We have kept our hot water tank in the loft as hate how slowly combi boilers take.

Find out where the boilers are made. Often they are bought in from elsewhwere and badged.

I agree with the belief in th superiority of Vaillant. DD hs just moved into a new home with a creaking leaking 18 year old boiler. The new Vaillant boiler is being put in next week.

I have 19 radiators, so was recommended a condensing boiler and that meant keeping the hot water tank in my airing cupboard. People who have had a combi-boiler installed say they’ve had their tanks removed.

Our bills went right down when we changed to a Worcester Bosch and the new system with no water tank in the loft. Also we can drink the water from the bathroom tap so everything more hygienic. Would hate to be using the water from a tank again.

I have a Vaillant boiler which is 19.years old. Hopefully will carry on a bit longer. The engineer who services my boiler told me Vaillants are excellent.
My neighbour bought a new Worcester and it kept going wrong.

Yes they are.
I have a Worcester Bosch. It has an Eco button. 11 years old and no problems with it.

Our Worcester Bosch (aged 13) runs 15 radiators without problems.

Sorry we have 10. Miscounted.

We have 9 radiators, 4 of which are large because the rooms are quite big.

We also have a Vaillant which is 16 years old this year, one new motherboard 18 months ago and serviced every 18 months. The engineer was impressed with how spotless its innards were…🤷‍♀️

If it’s working I wouldn’t replace it.

Just checked, ours is a Potterton. My mums 55 year old boiler was still going strong when she had to go into a care home.
We were advised by a friend and very experienced heating engineer not to get a new boiler unless we absolutely have to.

That’s a very good boiler silver lining what brand is it and how many rads do you run of it if you don’t mind me asking, I’ve never known one to last that long , 👊

I have Valiant which is very good but so is Worcester Bosch. Go for the one with the best offer. My Valient was guaranteed for 7 years so I chose that and have not regretted it.

We had a Worcester Bosch to replace our previous Worcester Bosch.

Our Vaillent is great and they have a sale on just now….

Oh really keepingquiet I was actually looking at the Bosch one thinking that’s a good brand as we have had many Bosch appliances in the past thanks for that, I’ve never heard of the ideal standard thank you

I had an Ideal Standard installed last Summer. The fitted said the new WB aren’t worth the extra cost, one reason being the brass fittings are now just plastic.

I had an Ideal installed two years ago. It is British made and came with a 12 year warranty so I would recommend one of these.

The cheaper versions are called 'landlord' boilers because they are normally installed in rental houses. So I would suggest not going for the lowest prices but top names like Worcester Bosch are not as good as they once were...
