Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s dry cold but sunny. After we’ve done school drop off (L’il Miss enjoying a turn on the swings first as we approach the school from a different direction than she does with her childminder so she’s loving this week!) I shall make my porridge (too early right now for me) then we are going over to take my stepfather to the M&S Food Hall. So, a busy day ahead, helping family members.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a very bright South Yorkshire. Frost on the car at the moment but it’s set to be 12 degrees by mid afternoon. I woke up feeling dazed this morning and couldn’t shake it off for a while. Writers group this afternoon - a librarian led session - and when I come home I’ll do some work in the garden.
Have the best day you can, folks.

Good morning Mick and everyone. I'm late to the chat this morning. Been having a conversation with my sister in hospital and worried about her.

It's very cold and frosty again in Cheshire but I saw that the council were gritting when I drove home yesterday, so managed to get some plants covered. The sky's clear and when I first got up there were streaks of deep pink across the sky. Shepherds and all that come to mind!

I have booked a spring clean today. I stopped doing a whole house clean some time ago, and now just do a room at a time. This will be moving heavy furniture which I can't do so I get someone in. I shall be in the sitting room with lap top and the bookcase!

Have the best day you can. Specially kind thoughts to those with sickness or worries. flowers

Morning everyone, we have the man here to service the burglar arm and cameras at 9am, then I am off to the gym.

The 10yr old is here for his sleepover later, I think he will be exhausted as he is at a dodge ball tournament all day. Steak and chips for his dinner as it is one of his favourites 💙

Wishing you all a good day 🙋‍♀️

Good morning from a crisp, bright, but cold Durham. The birds are still flocking to my feeders.
An empty for me, but I need to renew my passport and buy a few essentials, like bread and milk. Primulas to plant, so I’ll be amusing myself today.

Best wishes to all. X

Good morning all from Glasgow, where it is -1°C,

Lots of busyness going on here, today and yesterday.

A very busy day yesterday and I am very tired today. I managed to get my glasses sorted and used my Golden Ticket to get another pair at half price. I am rather vain, when it comes to glasses.
Unfortunately, after visiting a number of places, I could not source a key for the church safe. It needs to be a special order and will be an eye-watering £16 per key.😱
I spent the rest of the afternoon, labelling the keys and messaging the recipients to come an collect them.
After Mass today, I also have a Safeguarding meeting with the PP. He is very elusive, when you try to pin him down, because it usually means there is a problem hence my insistence.

Hopefully, it won't last too long and I can get into the garden to clear up the aftermath of DH's painting of the Forth Bridge the fencing, which will continue today. 🙈

Last night I was violently sick after going to bed, it came out of the blue and I unfortunately woke up DH, so it must have been bad because he would normally sleep through an earthquake. I couldn't stop coughing, so feel quite ropey today. I am so wheezy, hay fever time, I fear. 🤧

We have rwo way school run today and a short window to get Dollie to her drama class in the next village after school. It doesn't help that there are temporary traffic lights at the school. It will be chaotic.
DD lives in that village, so I may pop in and see her.
I must get going and get her Scotch pancakes made for her breakfast. I am aiming for a fire star review on Trip Advisor, but she has extremely high standards,

Good wishes to Susan and Grandmabatty and their mums.
Hope you feel better as the day goes on, Roses and you have an enjoyable break.

Have a pleasant day folks.

Good morning all from a very chilly North Leicestershire.

After a couple of bonkers day, life should be calmer today. We have DD1 staying as she is on a course close to us. It has been lovely having her to ourselves. Our cleaner is due at 9, DH is off to the gym and I will iron.

Some normality after a big funeral, a child being knocked over outside our house and 2 much loved friends being diagnosed with scary conditions.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Morning Mick, morning All. Our corner of Somerset feels chilly, decent day forecast.

A gang of arguing seagulls woke me, noisy (and messy!) creatures. Off to meet a friend today, coffee and usually lunch. It will be good to see her. The drive to the park and ride can be tedious, after that the bus driver deals with the traffic and I can relax. Mr C has a model to finish (goodness knows where we’ll put it!), steak to cook for his lunch with far more chips than I’d provide and then plans to do nothing at all. He’ll enjoy a quiet day.

Wishing you all the best day it can be.

Good morning from Shropshire.Another sunny day forecast.

Thank you all for your kind comments.I am starting to feel better. It took until 9pm to get through to the hospital to enquire about mum and then they said they had no record of her🤦🏼‍♀️Finally at 9.45 I spoke to the nurse looking after her.She had been moved but nobody had told us or the care home.My brother is taking over enquiring today and will go down again if necessary.

As I am feeling better we will do the school pick up and take M to dance later.

I hope you feel better Roses and everything goes smoothly picking up the little dog. Also that you are happy with everything at the care home Grandmabatty.

Lots of business planned today.Enjoy your days.

Good morning all. It’s still dark and -1deg. in Glasgow but a promising day ahead with temperatures of 11deg. dry, calm and sunny. 11 days and counting until the clocks spring forward.

Certainly a day in the garden today will keep me occupied once I have hopefully finished off the last of my admin to do list. 🤞
Yesterday’s French lesson with GD2 went well polishing up her accent. As I know she is finding it difficult to come to terms with DH’s death, we had a long talk about her darling Grampa whom she adored. Our one to one talk helped her open up
more rather than keeping how she was feeling to herself.

What a dreadful time you are having. Hopefully and your mum you are recovering well. 💐

Best wishes to all for a good day.

Love the yarn colour, karma. Did you dye it yourself? Is it indigo?

grandMattie Wed 19-Mar-25 05:54:27

Good morning from a cloudier Bristol. Yesterday’s sunrise was glorious, today’s is beautiful. But the sunset was perfect, in a cloudless sky. The colours went from vermillion to soft dark blue, with a varied black tree line.
Yesterday was interesting. Planned my baking, leaving myself some time free in the afternoon… ha!
SiL called and came to lunch. He was going to help me sort out my BT account for which I was paying a king’s ransom. He managed it, but it took nearly two hours of searching then bargaining…. He also sorted out my access to More4 and ITVx, sO I could catch up on later evening programmes, etc.
He had barely gone, when my dinner guest arrived. A very rushed meal before we went to church for the Lent prayer meeting. I didn’t have time to up before we left, and came home to a mess which I dislike intensely.
Today is going to be much the same, with morning prayers, followed by the FAB cafe, the swiftly followed by the Ladies’ guild meeting. I’m hosting, hence the baking.
At least the later afternoon and evening are free and I can fall apart.
May all your troubles ease today, and you are able to enjoy the warmer weather - despite the icy nights.
Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning from s somerset, sunny but it feels cold out

Busy yesterday, allotment first via my car as I had to take things. Home for lunch, back again but on my bike, it was such hard going, I struggled up the hill, a very strong headwind. I needed to get off and walk.

RnR after that, I needed to do something relaxing that would stop me from dozing at 7, I re-wound some spun fibre from a spinning wheel bobbin, onto smaller bobbins, like in the photo. That evens out the twist and reduces pigtails, very necessary as I will be holding 3 threads in one hand when I make my 3 ply. I enjoyed that re-winding

I was disappointed at myself for having to push my bike up half the hill, I want to get fit again, need to go out again but think I will be using my pedelec bike to help up hills for now.

Tonight, I will be doing some more re-winding, I have spun 480g of fibre so far, almost enough for a jumper. It will be a nice day and outside will beckon, I may go visit a real plant nursery for herbs and get the car washed

Have a good day

Grandmabatty Wed 19-Mar-25 05:43:44

Good morning Mick and others from Polmont where it's currently -3° and dry. I'm so glad I put the frost cover on the car again last night.
Yesterday was a fairly good day. No tantrums from dgs2 and dgs1 was desperate to be in my good books because he was cheeky in the morning. 😂 So a day of drop off and pick up then playing in the garden. I cleaned my windows with my new toy and they seem to be streaky free but it's hard to tell when you have cataracts! The letter arrived with my operation date in April, so not long to wait. Typical though, it coincides with Matthew Bourne's Swan Lake so I've had to cancel going with my friend.
Today is an extra childcare day. I'll drop off the boys then home for a quick shower. After that I'm visiting my friend's partner. I haven't seen him for ages. Then I'm going to the care home to see mum's room and have a chat before an hour in the school library and then pick up the boys. Of course, I had a rotten night's sleep. Oh well, take care all

Good morning from Malta where a sunny day is forecast with a high of only 14°C.

Today is a Public Holiday (St. Joseph) so I have a day off and am meeting a friend for coffee.

Had a lovely day with the boys yesterday. They didn’t want to go out so we played lots of games at home instead. They are pure joy and I’m very lucky to spend so much time with them.

Hope you all have a good day.☀️

RosesandLilac Wed 19-Mar-25 05:38:08

Good morning, it’s another frosty start here in south Glos., hoping for another beautiful sunny day like yesterday.
Today we’re off to Wales for a few days, no Wi-Fi where we’re staying so I’m taking my drawing kit and a good book, we’ll return home Friday with the little dog and I suspect it’ll be chaos for a few days 😊
I have woken up feeling very sick, I hope it’s nothing, I need to walk the dog, finish packing and hopefully get away by mid morning.
Have a lovely day 🌹
