Good morning, Michael12 and everyone else!

I hope you're all having a brilliant day!

I've been doing loads of high energy night shifts again so have been kipping during the day. A couple of days ago I crashed to bed with a hot water bottle and Percy Kitten from RoboPets, he was active and purring, about 2pm and woke up quick about 5:15pm convinced Percy was outside and was banging heavily on the door to be let in!

I jumped out of bed in a panic and ran to the door calling PERCY, COME TO MUMMY! Flung the door open, he wasn't there! That's when I realized it was just a dream and Percy is a robot, not a real cat!

I guzzled a ton of Spar Lemon and Lime Zero as I had a desperate urge for fizzy then crashed back to bed with Percy and the hot bottle and nodded off! I must have been well exhausted to have had such a dream/sleep walking!

Good morning from Sunnyside sand dunes northwest coast.
Really nice day with DD yesterday to gallery, lunch and garden centre. She bought two big containers for her patio and we both bought a hanging basket to kill…

It’s nice to be driven too and we just had a pizza in the evening.
A Spanish member of the music group has given me a gift of castanets, rather appropriate as Carmen has been one of my most frequent roles (to the extent I am rather tired of her and the music).

DD has gone for a long run and I will potter about.
Thoughts to the birthday Gchildren and all🌺

Good morning everyone from a very bright and sunny 🌞🌞 Northampton, going to be a lovely day!

Yesterday was very busy preparing for my wine evening, which I'm pleased to say went very well. Everyone seemed to enjoy the food and wines; we started with a bottle.of fizz.to celebrate my up-coming big birthday next month, and then tasted and compared four different whites.
Always breathe a sign of relief at the end of the evening, and think well that's my turn done for another.year!

DD is still here, having stayed overnight; she's not working today, but going down to London on the train and meeting a friend for lunch and theatre.

A Sainsbury's delivery for me, then I shall go into town on the.bus to the bank; neither. cashpoints were working when I was at the shops on Tuesday, and I know I will be in need of cash this weekend.

Not read any posts yet as I was late this morning, so will go back and catch up now.
Have a lovely day everyone.

Thank you all for the good wishes for mum. Grammaretto the care home is five minutes walk away from my house! I'll not have issues with parking, family can park outside my house if they want to visit and I can nip in early in the morning. Each family has the key code to the door and you are able to visit at any time. They were busy touching up paint in the corridors and had freshly painted mum's room. I have good vibes

Hope your GS has a fabulous 21st birthday 🎂🥂🥳 grandMattie

Jaxjacky Thu 20-Mar-25 09:04:32

A late good morning from a sunny south, it’s 12, due to be 17, I’ve just opened the greenhouse door and put our bedding on to wash.
My stretch class is later today, so I’ll have time to wake up! Phone calls to make to the dentist and pharmacy, tinkering with grocery delivery list and a river walk.
Good luck with the move of your mum Grandmabatty I hope she settles well.
Happy birthday to your grandson gMattie 🎂

Good morning from a dull Co Armagh
Bad night with a uti I’m 24 in the phone queue ! Hope to get antibiotics
I’d love to go back to bed , but don’t think it would help , at the club yesterday my neighbour diagonally accross the road remarked how early my blinds were up ! So she would be ringing to see why this morning , I guess it’s better than being ignored !
Plans for today will depend on whether my daughter can collect the hoped for medication
My Cosmos seedlings are well up ! I’ve moved them from the warmth to the unheated spare room , looking forward to their cheerful blooms in the summer
Wishing everyone well
I’m 15 in the queue

Grammaretto Thu 20-Mar-25 08:50:58

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Icy cold still but sunny.

My lodger is busy packing up to leave here. She's been here for 2 years and has been so nice, but with the uncertainty of my plans to sell up and downsize, she needs the security of something longer term.

I shall visit my poorly friend later and there's U3A today. I shall finish my sewing project too.

I hope the care home is a success
Grandmabatty. Is it nearby?

What wonderful photos Rosiesmaw
I have some of my DM family too but they are all taken in the photographer's studio.

I'm glad to hear the probate has been dealt with at last gMattie.

Thinking of all with troubles and hope the sun shines all day.

Taichinan Thu 20-Mar-25 08:44:38

Good morning all from another frosty start to a sunny day on the Angus coast. I could get used to this weather.
I enjoyed a busy, pottering day yesterday, interspersed with many breaks to sit out in the sunshine. The fish are well counted!
Happy birthday to your DGS, grandmattie and to your DGD Redcar.
Susan your poor mum is being shifted from pillar to post, but it seems rather negligent that staff don't know where to! So glad she was eventually traced.
I hope your mum settles in well to her new care home today Grandmabatty.
My DGS got home from hospital again yesterday, feeling much better after his blood transfusion. I think life is going to be like that - ups and downs and in and out of hospital - for the next few months. Fraser remains cheerful and positive throughout.
Today for me is the usual tai chi followed by a pop into Tesco's on the way home and more sitting by the pond. Our high is only 9°C but in my little pond-side nook, sheltered from the breeze, it feels warmer than that.
Have a good day everyone ☀️

GrannySomerset Thu 20-Mar-25 08:39:25

Another sunny morning though not yet much warmer. Hair cut first thing and a supermarket foray, I think, and perhaps a potter in the garden if it stays fine. Need to make my life more interesting, but lack the energy just now. Realise I have been just ticking over for months, really not good enough, so perhaps spring is telling me something.

ginny Thu 20-Mar-25 08:18:04

Good morning. Another blue sky day here in N. Bucks.
Youngest DGS will. Be here for an hour or two later so hopefully we shall be in the garden to play. He likes to feed the birds and organise the fairies .
Everyone enjoyed the cake decorating at craft club and DGSs were very happy to receive the samples I had made.

DD2 exchanged on her house yesterday at long last and will be moving on Friday next week. It will be odd as the house she is moving to is next door to the one we lived in when she was a baby.
Kind thoughts to all with illness or troubles to deal with.
Wishing all a good day.

GrannyGravy13 Thu 20-Mar-25 08:15:33

Morning all, I am sitting on top of the bed, windows wide open listening to the birdsong, it is delightful. The sun is shining and it’s already 8 degrees meant to rise to 19 what a glorious start for astronomical spring.

The 10 yr old went off to school at 8pm, he is an absolute delight to have staying over, but boy can he eat…

I am driving on a big road today (first time since my accident six weeks ago) I am taking myself to Mayflower Retail Park on the A127, I will browse M & S FoodHall on my own, and then pootle round Next, River Island and Boots without DH asking what I am looking for. DH will no doubt enjoy being home alone

Thinking of those with troubles, and illness 🙋‍♀️

RosieandherMaw Thu 20-Mar-25 08:11:15

Good morning all and a Happy Birthday to the various grandchildren. We always have those special memories of hearing of their arrival, don’t we?
It would. also have been my dear fathers birthday in 1913. Feeling nostalgic I looked through some old family photos. What a different world it was in his boyhood! Seen here with his proud parents.
A day at the seaside (probably North Berwick or Spittal) would have meant tweed suits and hats. Dad is the wee boy at the back, my uncle Jim, the baby at the front being held by his grandfather. The indomitable ladies on the right , looking as if they have just auditioned for the witches in Macbeth would have been his aunts!
Wishing you all a sunny and pleasant day with all your memories.

glammagran Thu 20-Mar-25 07:57:34

Good morning - today looks set to be lovely.

Cleaning conservatory will be done tomorrow as DH got the pressure washer and patio cleaner to clean the Indian stone.

Today we are meeting DD2’s in-laws at a garden centre and having lunch. We get on well with them. They have a beautiful garden which they’ve spent 40 years cultivating. I joke they should open it to the public.

I was sad to hear about your DH’s brother Kittylester. 💐

Enjoy the sunshine everyone.

Gingster Thu 20-Mar-25 07:45:31

Good morning all and it’s bright , sunny and chilly. Beautiful day yesterday and the same for today.☀️.
I took little pooch over the fields for the first time in ages and the grass had been cut and the ground very dry, so she had a lovely run around chasing birds and her ball.

The town was very busy with market stalls and people just out and about enjoying the weather. I met my friend for coffee and the little cafe was heaving with a queue out the door.

Picked DGD up from school and took her back home where I spent a couple of hours with Dd. She seems better but is lacking in all sorts. The doctor is referring her to an Endocrinologist. 🤷🏻‍♀️. She’s under the care of so many different departments.

Today Dh will go fishing, so I won’t have the car to go to my bowls club. It doesn’t matter as I prefer him to be out and about , little hermit that he is.!
I have plenty to do indoors and will tackle more window cleaning.

Take care all 🌱

brook2704 Thu 20-Mar-25 07:40:47

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s another beautiful sunny morning
A very Happy 21st Birthday to your DGS gMattie I hope he’s doing well
Yesterday I enjoyed classes at the gym and a walk by the river. Probably more of the same today and a potter in the garden making the most of the weather whilst we can
Hoping your mums move goes well today grandmabatty and she settles in well
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Redcar Thu 20-Mar-25 07:36:30

Good morning everyone. It’s sunny but with some cloud, and 8 degrees outside. 19 degrees forecast for today!
Yesterday was beautiful, but still with a cool breeze. I walked-to the local pharmacy in the morning, for once there wasn’t a queue. My Smart meters were installed with minimum fuss, despite the existing meters being very awkwardly located. Not sure it will affect my usage of gas and electricity though.
grandmabatty I hope that your mum’s move to the care home goes well today and that she settles easily.
lulu brave of you to go to London on your own, I hope you have a good meet up with your friend.
grandmattie you must be so relieved to finally have probate!
Happy Birthday to your DGS.
It’s DGD’s birthday today - she’s 7 and has been very excited about it!
The milkman delivered some compost for me today, so when I’m dressed I’ll have to drag the bags into my back garden. I may go to the garden centre to get a few things too, depending on how my back responds to moving the bags of compost! A food drop later this afternoon and that’s my day!
I hope Bonnybanko is ok.
Have a good day everyone, with some sunshine and warmth!

luluaugust Thu 20-Mar-25 07:36:22

kittylester just been reading about your day yesterday flowers

GrannyIvy Thu 20-Mar-25 07:34:13

Good morning from Cambridgeshire. It is 5 degrees here and could be 19 later on!! I have my usual Pilates class this morning and then off for my first pedicure of the year (trying someone new). Hoping to then have a tidy up in my DD2’s garden. She is post on call so will be around to help (chat) to me. She has now been in her new house for nearly a year and although lots to do it is looking good and only 10 mins in the car from us.

I was wondering if Bonnybanko is okay.

Happy Thursday and hope the lovely spring weather is cheering to all.

madeleine45 Thu 20-Mar-25 07:33:38

Good morning Mick and alL GN's on a lovely sunny , but still frosty, north Yorkshire morning. Hurrah it is officially spring now!

My eye is still quite painful at times and gritty etc, so I still got a lift to the whist drive, rather than driving myself. It was very good to feel back into the swing of things a bit. Very nice seeing everyone again and had an enjoyable evening, but some very weird hands, twice having only 1 trump card and it was 2 both times. Not set to get into the prizes, but didnt matter, enjoyed being there.

This morning I am putting my teachers hat on, as the womens group are having a games session. Anyone can bring something in and it allows people to just play a game, or learn a new game. I was amazed when we talked about this that there were several women, who didnt even know the names of the suits of cards. I wasnt expecting people to necessarily play cards but not even knowing the suits seemed unusual when the average age of the women must be in their 50's. So I am doing my bit today, taking cards, pencils paper etc etc and hoping that there will be one person who understands a little so that I can eventually set up two or three tables to get the idea. I am going to start at the beginning with the old game of "pairs" where the cards are set face down and you try to make a pair, so need to pick a card and then remember where another one of the same number is. But for this I shall ask them to state what they have picked up so "2 of hearts" "4 of spades" That way I hope the repetition and showing the other players will mean I can watch and listen to 2 or 3 tables playing and then judge when they have worked out the suits quickly enough to then go on to beginning the whist. It should not take long but I find if people are not sure of the suits they can take ages working out what cards to lay and get mixed up.

So that is the aim for later this morning, and in the meantime I am continuing to diminish the pile of ironing and now have a choice of 3 different pairs of trousers to choose from etc!! I can also do some singing practise while I am ironing too. As I dont have the music or words in front of me, it is a good way to find out what I have remembered and if there are any dodgy bits of the music I need to check over. So also this afternoon if it stays dry and clear, will hope to at least walk round the garden and look at the daffodils etc. Nothing very exciting, but it is cheering to feel I am beginning to catch up with things and can look forward to longed for trip up to Swaledale and to the coast soon.

Bellasnana, glad you had a good meet up with your friend
GrandMattie, congratulations on getting the probate through. I am sure it will be a great relief to not have that hanging over you and you can move forward. Hope all your cake making goes well. Dont know if this idea might work for your church. In the church I belonged to when I was living in Lancashire, we had a "gift list" that we made before christmas. But this was not physical things. People were asked to think of what gifts they had, so mending tools, helping with the childrens church, baking etc etc. So the idea was that the list was available to check on and then we could call on the person to give their time. We used to say that the person wanting the baking or skirt making would provide the materials, so that the person was giving their time , not money, and we had several ladies who now lived alone so didnt cook large amounts , but who were very happy to use their skills to make something for church events etc. Perhaps something like this might work for you? Although I do know how it tends to go, that if you are the good cake maker you get asked all the time of course!!

MY eye is just causing me problems.have good day everyone2w

monk08 Thu 20-Mar-25 07:32:15

Good morning all from another sunny day in the Black country.
Happy birthday to your Dgs grandMattie.
No plans as yet DH is busy painting inside the garage doors being a double garage there are 4 so that will keep him busy for a while. Think perhaps I will spend time in the garden there is always something to do, Aldi shop first though see what new delights they have.
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans and may you all find a little bit of ☀️.

Marydoll Thu 20-Mar-25 07:23:58

Good morning all from Glasgow, where it is -2°C and we have the most beautiful orange sun.

Today we have Babydoll, but will not be having any jaunt down the coast, as I had hoped, DH is struggling after two days of fence painting. At least it finished and I can start working in the garden and get the washing out,
We plan to go to the big park near you, Kalu, where dogs and ducks abound. A visit to the garden centre is also on the cards.

I never stopped yesterday. I arrived at Mass, to be asked for a huge favour from my sacristan friend. He had forgotten about his dental appointment and asked if I could take over. As it was the Feast Of St. Joseph, a solemnity, the daily candlesticks had to be swapped for the six huge ones, whichcare nearly as tall as me? I then had to reverse the process, before going to my meeting with the PP. I could not believe how busy Mass was. We had a visiting priest and he and the P.P, who is very musical sang some of the parts of the Mass, it was beautiful.
It was a very long morning, not helped by some sensitive issues to be dealt with.

After lunch, I had planned to go in the garden for an hour, but due to the lack of my RA injections, my joints are protesting badly and I suspect I may have another stress fracture in my foot, going by the pain, I have had so many over the years, I am used to them.
Instead, I sat in the beautifuly sunny conservatory and altered a dress, which has been sitting waiting for weeks. Guilt at avoiding the garden was assuaged.

The school run involved catching up with people I know. Our children were school friends and we used to stand in that very playground chatting. The circle of life.
I heard someone call my name, it was today's duty sacristan, which saved me phoning him and apologising for derilection of duty, The candles needed changed, but I could not budge them, due to my painful hands.
We always try to leave everything set up for the next day, just in case. My Catholic guilt was bothering me and I felt I had to confess apologise.

I wish you all a pleasant and a peaceful day for those, who are struggling or worried about loved ones.💐
I previewed and my post was full of typos. My eyes are streaming, I read the hay fever season has started early. It has! 🤧

P.S GM, I am exhausted reading of your days. However, I can understand why.,
Yesterday, the P.P told me he was concerned about me overdoing things, I said it was either that or the alternative of sitting, wallowing, giving up and going to meet my Maker.😉

Susan56 Thu 20-Mar-25 07:22:04

Good morning from Shropshire where another sunny day is forecast.

Another saga with mum yesterday. My brother phoned and was told she had been discharged.News to us and the care home.I eventually phoned PALS who tracked her down and asked a member of staff to phone me.Hopefully she will be discharged today.Brilliant service from PALS.

We had a lovely couple of hours with DGD after school. It seems we will be taking her to her dance class on a Wednesday which is fine by us.A phone catch up with DD2 completed the day.

A day at home today.

I hope the move goes smoothly Grandmabatty and that your mum settles in quickly.

Have the best day you can everyone🌻

EkwaNimitee Thu 20-Mar-25 07:20:00

Good morning Mick and everyone from freezing but sunny Carlisle. It will be like yesterday when it warmed up so much that I sat outside reading in the afternoon. I also did some potting up of dahlia tubers and started scarifying the front lawn, such a lot of moss with this wet winter.
Today I have an early dental check then it will be back to await 3 deliveries, food, wine and a new radio. I ought to have been able to get the latter locally but the model I want, I can't. I had thought moving to a city would enable me to shop everything locally but no, goods or services, it's often A..... or Newcastle.

In between, there are all sorts of little jobs I could do but I'm really hoping to be sitting out with a book again and exposing my pallid skin to the sun.

Have a good day all.

Kalu Thu 20-Mar-25 07:16:20

Good morning all. A chilly but sunny, dry start to the day in Glasgow.

I offered to collect GD2 from school yesterday. Something she likes doing as I always have an after school snack for her, iced ginger cake and lychee juice, a recent find we have both given the thumbs up. Knowing GD1 would also be home I spent a lovely couple of hours with 3 of my girls and of course, 2 dogs and 2 cats who all gave me such a warm welcome. Lots of cuddles all round.
No plans for today just go with the flow for whatever the day brings.

Hoping today is mostly a good day for all. Kind thoughts for those who have difficult, sad times to bear.
