Nice to see blue skies, spring flowers and sunshine again

Massive thunderstorm last night. Weird thing the dogs started barking madly a few seconds before the first sound of thunder. The curtains were all closed so they could not have seen the lightening that must have preceded it.

The garden needed the rain though. Just finished weeding so no doubt those pesky weeds will reappear in a few days.

My favourite season. We’ve been lucky enough to spend the last cou Of months in sunny, warm Spain. Nice to be home for Spring though.

The blue sky and warm weather was good, but it's been grey and raining all day here today so I've got the heating on again.

I should pleased that spring is springing but I'm still slightly in my rather lazy winter- mode!
I've got used to lovely warming comfort food, interesting reading piles & listening to radio 4 whilst sorting-out my big pile of
clothing mending.
I need to be dragged into spring quite frankly!
Yet, later on I shall once again bemoan the coming of the colder months!
😚

The start of Spring makes us feel as if the world is coming back to life. There are things to look forward to, lighter nights, warmer days and getting the washing dry!
I love Spring; as I get older it has become my favourite season.

Dull and grey here all day.

Today 16:18 Greciangirl

Well, I’m not looking forward to the clocks going back next weekend.
Currently, I’m waking at 6am, which is bad enough.
So next weekend I will not be gaining an extra hours sleep as will be waking at 5am and never can doze back of either.

The clocks go forward next weekend so you will lose an hour, not gain it…🤣

Aaaaand it's raining again, has been all day!

Frenchgalinspain Sat 22-Mar-25 16:36:59

The 21st of March and today the 22nd have been colder than December with lots of rain, grey skies and high winds.

I personally prefer "daylight savings time" as it gets dark at approx. 21.30 verses 18.00 ..

Spring came yesterday in Berkshire.
Today it's cool and quite dull......................Possible thunder clouds are looming.

Whoops... for a moment I thought I was really clever as I actually heard thunder.............. then realised Amazon was wheeling a heavy package down a neighbou'r's drive!!

The equinox was my mother’s birthday. She was very proud of the fact that it was on the first day of spring. She died a few months after her 61st birthday. An age that feels younger to me with every birthday I celebrate.

Happy birthday mum.

I feel ready to tackle more jobs in the garden. Pity about the high pollen count. I must top up with antihistamine.

A high pollen count? my nose is streaming, sore eyes, bunged up, no wonder!

Gorgeous day in Devon. The seafront was packed just now.
I found a quiet spot on the estuary this morning to sip my coffee and dream of sunny days to come. The gentle sunlight on the rock was pretty.

Blue skies, birdsong and blossom here in the south west. We had breakfast in the garden under the Magnolia in full bloom.. I'm excited for the clocks going on soon - a bit more time out in the garden.

Beautiful in Suffolk too ☀️

Chocolatelovinggran Thu 20-Mar-25 12:51:47

Indeed- my walk through the park today was a delight: leaves budding, spring flowers in bloom, all guaranteed to lift the spirits.

Coconutty Thu 20-Mar-25 11:35:28

Beautiful day here too. I really can’t stand winter. I’m a spring and summer person and need the sunlight.

Cossy Thu 20-Mar-25 11:29:21

Yes! I love Spring, it’s my fav season and we have blue skies and sunshine here in Essex, though still a bit nippy!

It's lovely here in North Wales. I had to go shopping this morning but will get out this afternoon for a walk in the hills.

Beautiful day here in Cambridgeshire.
It will get to 19 degrees. Washing on line and French doors open.
It makes you feel so much better when the sun is shining.

JamesandJon33 Thu 20-Mar-25 11:02:06

Lovely day. First time putting all the washing on the line. Might regret that as we have three rook’s nests in a nearby tree.

Lovely day here on the south coast, not exactly bikini weather but very pleasant none the less.
