Good morning all from a wet Glasgow, where it is 8°C.

Gosh Susan that is the last thing you need. I hope it is nothing major with the car.

I won't be doing much today. Poor DH! I have been coughing most of the night was sick a few times, so he got little sleep. My chest was so congested, I struggled to breathe. I have been waiting so long for my appointment with the CF consultant, I have given up hope.

I am so annoyed and weary of it all. I eventually left a message for my GP yesterday, but got no response. Fingers crossed he calls on Monday.

Enjoy all your busyness, there are so much going on here. Enjoy every moment, life can change in a second.

FGT, I hope those new passports arrive today. 🤞

I may not post for a few days, so don't worry. No-one likes a moaner and I am finding it difficult at the moment to be positive, in the face of adversity. However, I am not looking for sympathy, just somewhere to offload.
DH is doing his usual burying his head in the sand and he doesn't hear anyway. 😉

In other words, I am a grumpy and miserable old woman, just ignore me!😉

Good morning everyone from Inverness where we’ve light grey cloud and it feels quite mild
Happy Birthday to your DD bellas and enjoy your lunch out today
We’ve the DGC here just now, they all stayed over last night, DD2 has just got up and gone to the gym. We’ve no plans for today only to tidy up after they’ve all left and to sit and have a quiet cuppa. It’s enjoyable having them all to stay though and nice that the DGC still ask to stay even though they’re growing up fast
Hope your neighbour is ok Susan
Ash 💐
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders where it's mild, dry, but no sun yet.

Susan your life is far too exciting! I hope the car can be fixed quickly.

Yesterday was a bit manic here. People coming and going all day.

The house business is ongoing. My prospective buyer is coming again today. Perhaps I should give him a key?

I have a farewell party to go to this afternoon and the usual community café this morning .
Tonight my good friend is coming over for a catch up.

Last night I had a little dinner party for my lodger who is moving out today. It was bought fish and chips, the best salad, icecream and prosecco. Nice and easy but I lit the fire and candles. She's not going far away so I'll still see her.

I am glad the wee dog has a nice new home with you Roses.

We took in rescue hens once who were afraid to go outside at first but they got the hang of it and loved scratching the grass.

Hoping everyone has a good weekend.

Good to have Ash back.

Good morning from a grey W Kent.
I should have a day off Mick and put your feet up. Talking of feet we are off this morning to have ours sorted out. No doubt we shall combine that with a trot round the town.
Best wishes to all

Good morning from rainy South Lanarkshire where

Yesterday seemed to be busy, I really don’t know where the day went.

Maw, I expect Bonnybanko may just be having a break. She’s been posting on Facebook and seems to be okay.

I’ve nothing planned today other than to drop off all the flowers I’ve crocheted to the DiL of my neighbour and friend who died recently. She is sewing them on to a blanket to be used at the funeral next week.

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

Redcar Sat 22-Mar-25 07:41:56

Good morning everyone from mid Essex. It’s very mild out, 10 degrees, grey and damp. I may go for a walk if it’s not actually raining.
DD2 came over yesterday morning with littlest, who was a bit tired and grumpy. I’d put most of the toys upstairs and she wasn’t interested in those I’d left in the lounge. I’ll have to bring some downstairs again when I know she’s coming.
I had my hair done in the afternoon, nice to catch up with my hairdresser and hear all her news.
I won’t see family today, they’re all busy with classes of various types and it’s the seven year old’s birthday party this afternoon. Twenty five children and several bouncy castles (indoors fortunately) will be chaotic!
I need to change and wash the bedclothes but won’t be drying them outside today! I did get a load of washing dry outside yesterday so there’s ironing to do.
fgt I hope your DH’s passport arrives today.
rosesandlilac I hope your new dog settles well and your other dog soon gets used to having a companion.
grandmabatty a busy weekend for you with your grandsons.
Have the best day possible everyone.

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it has rained overnight. Alexa tells me it is 11°C right now and will be 16°C later with white cloud.

We have a busyish day ahead. Himself is off in an hour to watch the Boy Wonder at his ⚽️ match for his Saturday team. This afternoon we are off to a pub for lunch with my stepfather (we arranged this in case the passports arrive today and we go to Málaga tomorrow!) then early evening we are babysitting!

Good morning from Shropshire.A mixed weather forecast today.

Yesterday a ring on the doorbell.I opened the door to find our 85 year old neighbour collapsing against the wall.I got him home with the help of a neighbour and called an ambulance. In formed his family and came home.As I approached the drive I noticed a puddle under the car🤦🏼‍♀️straight to the garage who did a temporary repair and we are booked in for 02/04 as they are closed next week to refurbish the workshop. We have hired a car for a few days next week as I don’t want to risk not being able to get to the hospital on Tuesday.

Today I am hoping for a quiet day cleaning the conservatory and putting the Easter decorations up.

I hope by some miracle Marydoll’s pain is sunsiding.

Have a good day everyone🌻

Good morning from Malta where it is sunny and due to reach 18°C but very strong wind is expected later.

It is DD3’s 36th birthday today so we are all out for lunch at a rather nice restaurant by the beach so the boys can play a bit on the sand.

I’ve had an awful night. Decided not to wake early to watch tennis but was woken by the dog who has a very upset tum and needed to be let out. Without going into TMI, I was cleaning the yard at 3am and it was not a pleasant job.

Since I was up, I watched the tennis and wished I hadn’t as Alcaraz was knocked out in the first round. He’s so good but so inconsistent and his opponent got the better of him.

Glad you’re back, Ash, I missed your daily postings.

Pantglas, I’m afraid we are due some dirty rain whilst you are here and the temperature is set to go up and down a bit. Not the weather I had ordered for you but hope it won’t spoil your stay.

Have a good day all☀️

Good morning Mick and everyone. It's a pleasant morning in Cheshire after rain last night. I slept longer than normal and was surprised to see daylight.

Decisions Mick! You love the cycling but getting out and meeting people is important too. If there's cycling on for most of the day, why not go to Bicester, socialise a bit and catch up with the cycling later?

I have to give someone a lift to the station - no buses here- and then I have the optician this afternoon. I'm little worried about what she may find. I forget to use the drops as often as she advises.

I've delayed buying plants for the garden with the heavy frosts, but a trip to the garden centre is tempting. So many to choose from round here, but one has unusual plants and beautiful hanging baskets, far nicer than anything I could make, so I usually buy from there.

Have a good day whether out and about or at home. Specially kind wishes for those with worries.

RosieandherMaw Sat 22-Mar-25 07:08:52

Dull grey morning in N Bucks today, but wishing you all a Good One nevertheless.
All I have planned today is lunch out (what, again ?) with a friend, mother of one of D3’s Walthamstow friends - it’s a small world sometimes - and a shopping delivery this morning.
I need to write some birthday cards for posting before Monday and frankly, do some tidying up. My “blitzes” for the last two weekends of hosting have worn off and I’m getting into bad habits again grin
Nice to see you back Ashcombe , it’s always a worry when grans seem to drop off the radar.
Is anybody in touch with Bonnybanko ?
Keep safe and keep well the rest if you 💐💐

Grandmabatty Sat 22-Mar-25 07:01:24

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 8° and wet. The earth and the plants badly needed it. Rosesandlilac your wee dog sounds delightful. I'm sure she will enjoy walks. Ash it is good to hear from you again.
Yesterday I didn't stop all morning, in fact,I was busy most of the day. The hospital were pleased with the goodies I took the staff. Then I visited mum who was quite settled. Mind you, the language coming from the lady in the room opposite was choice! Thank goodness mum is deaf. I arrived home to find dd sitting on the doorstep with a custard filled doughnut and rolls for me. We had a pleasant half hour or so before she had to go. In the afternoon, I pulled out some of the Easter decorations and they are in position.
Today I'm having the boys all day and overnight while DD and Dsil go to a wedding. I'll pick up dgs2 shortly and dgs1 will arrive after football. I bought Easter egg shapes for them to paint and draw on today and they can attach them to the tree at my front door. If it dries up, we might go to a park for a while. Lunch is organised - homemade soup for dgs2 and noodles for dgs1, dinner will be sausage and chips and copious snacks in between, no doubt. Have a good day all

Morning all from West Oxfordshire.

We had a good lunch out yesterday. I drove OH and I to a pottery about 20 minutes away. (I am still enjoying driving my new car!) They do lovely quiche and salad lunches and I had a slice of coffee cake too. There is a wonderful shop which sells all the pottery they make plus lots of nice ‘things’!

Not sure about today. Maybe a reading day.

I hope the FGT2s passports arrive in time for their departure!

Kalu Sat 22-Mar-25 06:49:34

Good morning all. A high of 14deg expected today but unfortunately a rain for most of the day in Glasgow.

No plans so far but there is always plenty to keep me occupied indoors or arrange a coffee catch up with family/friends who live nearby. Going with the flow as usual.

How lovely to give Annie a loving home Roses. I am still undecided whether or not I should take on the commitment of having another dog.

Best wishes to all for a good day.

Pantglas2 Sat 22-Mar-25 06:48:26

Good morning all from a dry north Wales coast where I have just enjoyed my chamberpot ☕️ under the 🌲 🌳 ( shrinrin yoku or Forest Bathing, all part of the Ikigai tradition…😇)

Lovely to see you posting Ash and I too have crossed 🤞 for FGTs trip to happy place!

A trot to the next village for a 🗞️ and bacon baps at our local football ⚽️ club on the way home (Mr PG will shift himself for that 😡) then a leisurely day packing and fish supper later 😋

Hope you all have a great weekend x

Sar53 Sat 22-Mar-25 06:47:58

Good morning from DD2'S house in Hayes. I think we are due rain later.
The journey here was fine yesterday.
After getting off the train at Bromley I got into a cab for the remainder of the journey.
This morning we are going to watch 7 year old C play football. She sat and watched some of the England game with me last night. I think it was more exciting than going to bed !!
This evening DD2 and I are going out for dinner then going to the theatre to see 'Girl on a Train'.
I hope Saturday is a good day for everyone xx

kittylester Sat 22-Mar-25 06:43:04

Good morning from a cloudy North Leicestershire.

We had a lovely curry with our friends at the pub at the end of the road. It brightened up what has been a sad and strange week.

Today we are off to watch Bertie's football team in the semi finals of of something. Then we are going crazy golfing with Wolfie. Early to bed tonight I think.

Have the best day possible everyone.

RosesandLilac Sat 22-Mar-25 06:39:23

Lorrie’s
What on earth…..😄

Georgesgran Sat 22-Mar-25 06:38:37

Good Morning from Durham. Unfortunately, it’s raining and I have a load of washing to dry. I won’t re-load the machine, as DD2 isn’t in a hurry for it. My grass was scarified yesterday - I’m sure it’ll look better, at some point!
A chap from the roof company is popping in this morning to sort out final arrangements.
Otherwise, it’ll be a quiet day.

Best wishes to all. X

RosesandLilac Sat 22-Mar-25 06:13:29

Good morning! It’s a damp hillside in south Glos this morning, I’m hoping for a dry day today.
After two days without internet in a beautiful valley in Wales I have really missed it!
We had glorious weather, staying in a cottage near Taybont on Usk, totally peaceful.
We have our new little dog, she’s a funny little sausage, very sweet and affectionate with a sad life so far- she’s 8 and hasn’t been out of a house for 7 years 😥
She’s a Boston terrier x French bulldog, scurries around like a little mouse, into everything. Annie dog is decidedly 😳 about her at the moment in the house but absolutely fine outside so taking things slowly.
I did a lovely 5 mile walk in sunshine with Annie on Thursday, so many red kites and, of course, those incredible views of the
Brecon Beacons.
An uneventful drive home with the dogs, glad I didn’t extend our stay now as the M4 is completely closed between Chippenham and Bath the whole weekend and, believe me, that’s going to be totally chaotic around here with people trying to avoid the inevitable A420 queues (bitter experience of idiots in artic Lorrie’s or towing caravans getting stuck on our single track lanes 😡 and ignoring the road signs)
Anyway, a quick few days ahead here, besides dog walks and usual stuff!
I did buy Welsh lamb for tomorrow’s dinner, Welsh cakes and Caerphilly cheese 😋 and stocked up on fresh vegetables in the local market.
Sending best wishes to everyone 🤗🌹

Good morning from s somerset, dull and cloudy today

The mirror glass fell off my car side mirror yesterday, did not fall to the ground. Superglue did not work, elastic bands held it in place, the up and down road loosened it again. I arrived home and contacted a brother, the sequence to repair was rubbing alcohol, silicone and lots of pieces of masking tape, all of which I had. I fixed it and will be testing it again later. It made perfect sense as the silicone has a little `give` in it.

I was tired by evening and had an unexpected and unwanted long doze, then what did I expect after using a warm woollen throw over my knees

I did a fair bit of heavy work on the plot all of yesterday morning. Today I will be buying the last two big bales of bark for paths and planting my chitted potatoes. I sowed a whole packet of parsnip seeds yesterday and will be aiming at emptying my freezer drawers, a bit every day. Frozen small chunks of blanched parsnip is lovely done in my air fryer

I will be home by lunchtime and won`t be doing much during the afternoon

Have a good day

Ashcombe Sat 22-Mar-25 05:51:56

Good morning from a dry but cloudy Torbay.

Thank you for all the welcoming comments from you lovely people yesterday. They were heartwarming to read. Particular thanks go to Rosie'sMaw whose concerned private message led me to start posting again.

Mick: I think you should change your routine today so you can watch both races since it’s something you really enjoy.

I think you will enjoy Godspell, grandMattie, especially watching DGD.

Have a good weekend, everyone! Good luck to travellers, especially FGT2 awaiting passport delivery.

grandMattie Sat 22-Mar-25 05:39:37

Good morning from a mild, dry Bristol. I’ve just seen a lovely waning moon in a sky lightening up.
Yesterday went well. Our Spanish class was great; our teacher is very good at making things interesting and topical, as well as going through the grammar bits we have asked for..
In the afternoon, the lady from the dementia charity came for her bakes and was delighted with them. I hope they have a good turnout today.
I’m serving coffee in the church this morning and have made biscuits when having one of my mammoth bakes.
This evening I’m dining at DD’s then on to DGD’s school. She’s in their latest show; I think it’s “Godspell”, which I’ve never seen - but then I have seen very, very few musicals and shows.
May your weekend be peaceful. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩
