Good Morning from Durham. Still grey, but expected to brighten up later. I’m off to start my LPoAs this morning, then collect my friend after her first cataract procedure at a clinic about 20 minutes away.
I applied online for my passport on Thursday and it’s being delivered this afternoon FGT, I hope yours arrives too.
Good luck for your surgery Susan.
Best wishes to all. X

(53 Posts)Good Morning Everyone,
Its daylight and its dry here at the moment here in brackley.
Today , usual bus trip to Bicester , shop and maybe get a haircut .
My health Is OK,
Take Care,
Mick
Good morning all from the Black country where it is trying to rain although not predicted.
Housework and a trip to Iceland for a few bits freezer looking a little empty and its 10% discount day.
Safe journey for your DH Ash.
Hope your eye check goes well GM, and things go smoothly for your surgery Susan.
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️.
Good morning Mick and everyone from a rather grey Carlisle.
Yesterday was a busy morning with household chores and admin. In the afternoon, I was out in the garden, raking over my little fruit and veg border, then finally sowing my peas. The only way I enjoy peas is fresh out of the garden and straight into the pot. There was a rather cool breeze so I didn't linger out with coffee and a book so enjoyed the sun from within.
Today, another busy morning of jobs and an afternoon of, probably, catching up on reading. My thoughts are lightly, very lightly, turning to spring cleaning jobs. The trouble is that I prefer to do such tasks when it's bright and sunny and when it's bright and sunny, I'm going to be out in the garden!
Best wishes for the surgery Susan.
And wishing you all a pleasant day.
Good morning all. It’s slightly damp but mild here in South Lanarkshire.
Last night’s catch up with my friend was pleasant and easy although we haven’t seen each other for months.
Today DH will dive us over to Edinburgh where we will do the school pickup after which he’ll come home and I will stay a couple of nights to help out with the school runs while DDoutL is attending work events.
Good luck today Susan.
Have the best day possible everyone.
Good morning from a bright sunny Suffolk. I had an uneventful train journey home from Bradford yesterday having already roughly planned the next get together with my 4 dear friends.
Today I’m off to Norwich to meet another friend for lunch. She lives on the north Norfolk coast so Norwich is a good half way place between us. She has heard positive reviews about the refectory in the cathedral so we’re going to give that a try.
Hope those with appointments/ procedures today have good service and all works well.
Good morning everyone.
Yesterday I started a big tidy and clear out of my craft room. I am trying to be a bit more ruthless about getting rid of things I won’t use. Not doing too bad so far.
Today we will be visiting my sister- in-law about an hours drive away. We will probably have a little outing somewhere with her.
Hope all the procedures and appointments go well and wish all a good day with a smile along the way and.
Wonderful Cleaner and loft insulation both due this morning so must be ready for anything. Some attention to the inside of the downstairs windows should keep the two sets of workers separate, I think, and bed changing and laundry will make for a useful day.
Good morning Mick and all GN's on a still morning with a little sunshine about. (hope it increases) in North Yorkshire.
Ican hear birdsong but no sign of any birds or the squirrel in the tree. My eye continues to improve - good job as my wretched back does not improve. I sneezed yesterday unexpectedly which did not improve my back at all! So good job I can drive now as couldnt cope with the jolting of the flipping potholes on the yellow peril.
The plan for today is to go for a few bits of shopping and then go and have a quick look at some plants and check out the cafe area as a meeting place for a group. i am also looking out for some trousers. I have thick winter ones and thin cotton ones but it is a bit like the three bears as one kind are too hot and the others too cold right now.
Then depends on my back what I can do this afternoon. If it stays dry I might be able to get a chair outside and do a little weeding, but if things dont ease up or the weather gets worse - which it forecasts rain - then I think I shall just read my book. Have got casserole already made and so will be fine and not have to stand up cooking today. Rather frustrating, but just have to let things improve. Still did manage to get my hair cut yesterday and some washing done which dried easily and I got ironed and am pleased to feel more up to date with stuff. So although I cannot see big improvements am slowly getting more up to date with jobs and can be looking ahead and hoping to be able to go and visit some gardens soon.
The sun is getting a bit brighter and so I wish a good day to everyone and success in whatever you are doing today
grandMattie, Hope all goes well at the hospital and that you can get new glasses today.
susan56 Hope everything goes well for y ou with your operation
Good morning everyone from a cloudy Northampton, however a dry day is forecast.
A morning of pottering then out after lunch to join the well-being walk; it seems ages since the last time I managed it.
Glorious sunshine yesterday, and managed to get the towels dry on the line; I even sat outside while the cats explored the garden, and then got my book and read for an hour or so.
Received the new brochure for next year's cruises yesterday and have booked one! Its to the Adriatic which will be new to me. Something to look forward to, but still a long way ahead.
Hope all goes well today Susan; Ash, take it easy, and FGT2, hope you get your flight booked today.
Have a good day everyone.
Morning from a dry S Hants, high cloud. We have my brother and wife here for dinner tonight, so I’ve a venison pie to make. Today is patio jet wash today, MrJ is outside already.
Best wishes for your procedure Susan and your eye checkup gMattie.
Safe journey to oldudders Ashcombe

Good morning from Cambridgeshire. I am off walking with a friend today and then it is school pick up and time with the two littlest GC. Need to get myself organised for a couple of days away with some friends. We are planning to meet in the Cotswolds to catch up and the weather looks promising.
Susan56hope all goes well today.
Hoping everyone has a good day
Good morning Mick and all. It's a cloudy blue sky over the Angus coast today, and visibility is very clear. The wind which plagued yesterday and didn't allow me to sit by the pond for long seems to have died back, but it also dried all the washing a treat.
Hope all goes well for you today Susan and that your check-up is a mere formality grandmattie.
I'm sure your passports will arrive today FGT 🤞 and you'll be off to your wall to wall sunshine tomorrow.
I haven't read all the posts yet - that's a treat for later - and I'm off down to tai chi in a minute, followed by a much overdue foray around Tesco's. I used to love shopping of any sort, but now it's just a chore I'm afraid.
Have a good day, whatever you are doing ☀️🌱🪻🌷and 🍰
Good morning all from Glasgow, where it is 10°C.
I'm just popping in to wish Susan my best wishes for her surgery today.
Welcome to Churchview, love the name.
I did have a GP consultation yesterday and was given a new prescription for the lesions on my face, which are not healing and yet another one for my mouth.
My GP said he was running out of options, as I seem to have both a resistance and intolerance to the drugs. Nothing new there. 😉
Feeling hopeful, I trotted off to the pharmacy, only to be told that the drug had been unobtainable for a year and advised me to go back to my GP, as the pharmacist had looked at my record and I had already tried the alternatives..
After calling at least ten pharmacies and physically visiting others, I was told that it had been discontinued. So instead of a couple of soothing hours in the garden, I lost yet another day of my life and every day on this earth is a bonus 😉)
DD, bless her, searched online and eventually found that Boots in Paisley had it in stock.
Off I went , battling the horrendous school traffic and lack of parking spaces, only to be told that it was an error. They did not have it. 😡
For a fleeting second, I had the mad thought of lying down on the floor and having a full blown, Babydoll meltdown.
On arriving home, I prepared to do battle with the surgery, only to hear a recorded nessage, saying: We are declating a critical incident and cannot treat any more patients today, phone NHS 24 or speak to a pharmacist! 😭.
Speak to a pharmacist???, I had spoken to just about every pharmacist in the surrounding area and beyond !!!
However, I decided not to hang up and eventually a nippy receptionist answered. I politely explained my predicament. One of the GPs will deal with it tomorrow, was the response. She then hung up, without giving me a chance to elaborate.
In addition to that, if my pain medication is increased, I will not be able to drive, so I am between a rock and a hard place.
Do I give up driving and sit at home and wallow or put up with the pain? The only solution, is to restart biologics, with all, the horrendous side effects.
No wonder, I am fed up, no-one seems to be able to find a solution.
The sun has come out and DD will, pop in later after her Job Centre interview. After being made redundant, she has been rejected for so many jobs, being told she is over qualified.
I shall put on my fixed smile and pretend I am well! 😉
Best wishes to all, For those, who are busy, on holiday or catching up with friends, enjoy.
For those, who I know are lurking and unwell, (I know there are a few), I hope today is bearable for you. It is difficult to ready of others' busyness, when you have no control over your own situation.💐
Finally, thank to those lovely posters, who have contacted me. Your kindness has meant so much to me. 💕
Marydoll I hope you find someone somewhere with some answers for you today. It's awful to read of your pain and discomfort with no respite.
You are one strong lady, and who could blame you for feeling like having a hissy fit? Imagine the scene!
Prayers and kind thoughts are all I can offer from afar. Your lovely family must be distraught seeing you so low.
Thank Sallyforth.
My family have no idea how low I am feeling, I am very good at covering up!
No point in worrying them too.
I was famous for my impassive face at staff meetings, when the boss was ranting (a frequent occurence) and I showed no reaction. It made her even angrier!
🙏🙏🙏🙏
Marydoll I am sending you (((hugs)))
As you are too stubborn determined not to tell your family how poorly you are, please continue to vent in this safe place surrounded by dear friends, both virtual and known 🌸😘
My poor MD, I hope something, anything, is found to help with all your problems.
Keep on keeping on.
Is it a good idea to keep your family in the dark about your difficulties?
All the best, &susan*
Good morning Mick and all from a damp northwest coast.
Had coffee yesterday with friend in the village and her husband popped in with her forgotten keys. She left a message for me which I didn’t see until later in the day to say he had been taken to A&E with a slight stroke. He’s home now so I hope all will be well. I gave her a few books and don’t want any returns, I could open a bookshop here..
It’s another turn round the sun for me today. I’m on the desk at the music club and they celebrated it last week with cake etc,
I’ve decided on my songs so will have a warble before I go.
All the best Susan and thoughts to all🌺
I wish I could help ease your pain and frustration Marydoll 😢
I bet a babydoll style meltdown would have got you noticed!
So much for keeping stumm. DD has just popped in and much to her shock, I burst into tears!
We are off to Silverburn for a catch up.
Good morning from a dull but mild co Armagh
Lots of seed planting and moving of plants happened yesterday
Patio furniture in place ( therefore no sun today ! ) , solar pump in the water feature , all very jolly
Daughter is back to work so I’ll try and continue some of the good work
Phone and internet digitalised yesterday , in spite of my misgivings , very helpful young man even connected my printer
I’m so sorry that you couldn’t find the help for your ulcers MD
I’ve a candle lit as a reminder for a wee prayer for our less than healthy chums
mdI’m so sorry you’re having such a tough time at the moment. Enjoy Silverburn with your DD. Hope your own gp rings you later and can help.
Enjoy Silverburn with your daughter Marydoll.
Treat yourself silly MD. X
