Good morning from another lovely sunny Suffolk. My visit to my new dentist yesterday was good in that she is a quiet and efficient woman. Not only did she do a thorough examination of my teeth but also,of my mouth and neck. I’ve never had this before and she, rather than a hygienist ,will do a scale and polish in a few weeks time.

I’m off to my stretch class shortly and then to the seaside up the coast to have lunch with 3 friends. We meet up every couple of months and always have a jolly time with lots of laughter and interesting chat.

Hope today is a good one for all.

Good morning, it’s looking dull outside but hopefully will cheer up later.
DH is taking his Mum back to the doctors this morning. She has a problem with her leg which isn’t clearing up.
Ironing, cake icing and a little potter in the garden this morning.
Sewing group this afternoon, my turn to provide cakes.
On the way home I will call at DD2s to pick up what is left in her freezer and transfer it to mine until she has moved house tomorrow.
Healing thoughts for all the poorlies and a good day wished for all.

brook2704 Thu 27-Mar-25 07:37:17

Good morning everyone from Inverness where we’ve had some rain overnight and it’s grey and cloudy this morning
Karma you’ve so many talents, I’m so impressed
Nothing much planned for today except a quick trip to DD2s, DH is sorting through her garage and doing numerous tip runs and I’m helping inside with a few jobs. Her house move is still on although a definite date for moving not set yet. Everything is remaining firmly crossed
Bellasnana 💐
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Good morning all . Wasn’t yesterday glorious! ☀️.

Today I have school run , take and pick up, Brownies and then DGD will have a sleepover here. Dd is having another scan today and tomorrow seeing a different consultant. Endocrinologist!

Hope all the poorlies are ‘on the up’.
Happy holidays to travellers.

Good morning from a bright W Kent. Yesterday’s visit to the Optician left me with an unexpectedly large bill. Although the world is very bright after my cataract surgery I will need glasses for reading and driving plus prescription sun glasses. A bit of a surprise.
Today is art group and chat and then this afternoon ironing and cake making.
Best wishes to all

monk08 Thu 27-Mar-25 07:24:26

Good morning all from a dull Black country.
Housework and maybe some ironing shall also fit a little walk in through the park and take a look at Aldi specials.
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans ☀️

EkwaNimitee Thu 27-Mar-25 07:23:05

Good morning Mick and everyone from grey but currently dry Carlisle.
Yesterday, having gone into town to view an art exhibition, I found I was too late. I had entirely forgotten that last week was its last week! That's when I had originally planned to go but postponed because of various appointments. Instead, I found the museum has another interesting exhibition coming up shortly which I will probably view. Then I had a look through two good bookshops, one an absolute warren of rooms full of books old and new. I don't need to be adding to my backlog of reading but came out with a book from each store. I did successfully avoid the temptations of sweaters and yummies from M&S though!
Back to do not much in the afternoon, just reading and brain-training.
Today, the ironing and a few odd jobs, followed by tackling my backlog of magazines.

Have a good day everyone if you can.

Marydoll Thu 27-Mar-25 07:22:05

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where it is 10°C, with rain forecast.

Bella 💐
Good to hear you are regaining your confidence Ash, albeit slowly.

I'm up early, as it is a Babydoll day, but am very weary after yesterday's running about. I had a chat with the pharmacist, who to my dismay, told me that he had no suggestions, I have tried all the options for my mouth. 😔
I am hoping for a call from my GP today, but my expectations are low!

A trip to Braehead is planned, the park is not an option, because we have rain forecast. The safe keys I ordered have not materialised and I visited more key cutting places yesterday, without success. There is a Timpson's at Braehead, so I shall try there.
Braehead is on DH's list of places to avoid, but tough! A day at home, trapped with a Duracell toddler ain't going to happen. 😉 He can take her to the Disney shop to keep her amused! Next have a sale on, I know where I am going.😉

Baubles, what is it about men and power washing? I dread DH doing it. After he is finished, the house needs power washed, he manages to get dirt everywhere. As for the windows, they always looked as if they had been subjected to a desert sandstorm. 😂

Yesterday, he spent hours digging up tree roots, I was a bit worried about him over taxing himself, but he sees it as a matter of pride, not to ask for help.
The bottom of our garden has been taken over by trees from the former drovers' lane behind us. DH discovered an assortment of rubble, left by the builders, over thirty years ago. There are enough boulders to build a rockery at the front of the house, which I plan to do.
How many trees make an orchard? That is what I hope to do, to fill the space.

Now that the area has been cleared, DIL's father kept popping his head through the gap, for a chat.. He certainly was living up to his reputation of being a nosy so and so, who needs to know everything that is going on. He was desperate to know what DH was doing. 🤣
DH was very upset, when FIL, who is friendly with his golfing partner, told DH that his golf partner's cancer has not been responding to treatment. 😪

I really need to get moving, I have a BHF uplift and must move the bags, ready for the uplift. It is so much easier than doing a charity shop run.

Wishing you al, a pleasant day. Sorry Pants, that the weather has let you down. One erroneously expects constant sunshine in Malta.

cornergran Thu 27-Mar-25 07:21:16

Morning Mick, morning All. Light cloud and almost misty out there.

Quiet-ish one at home today, yesterday was very enjoyable so worth feeling weary today. I’ll don my hand supports and go aloft to try to sort Mr C’s jigsaws, if I’m lucky he’ll agree to part with one. A local meeting for me this evening, this one will be lively I suspect as there are several contentious changes planned for our area.

Take care everyone. Hope Thursday is kind to us all.

harrigran Thu 27-Mar-25 07:20:01

Good morning from a dry NE where we are promised 14 degrees.
Today is DD's 56th birthday, she is with her DH in Brussels but I will get to see her at Easter.
Nothing planned for today so will do the laundry.
Have a good day everyone.

Susan56 Thu 27-Mar-25 07:19:21

Redcar, I love muscari and planted loads in the autumn. No sign yet though.

Redcar Thu 27-Mar-25 07:12:37

Good morning everyone from mid Essex. It’s sunny with clear blue sky outside, but a bit chilly. Yesterday was beautiful and we’re forecast another lovely day today.
I went to the garden centre yesterday and bought seed compost. Lots of spring flowers and plant arrangements for Mothers Day, but I wasn’t tempted to buy anything. Did a little gardening, pulling up weeds. My garden is being overrun with violets and muscari. Lots of bees enjoying them.

ashcombe well done for your little walk yesterday, do you think you’ll be able to do it again today? After communion maybe?
grandmattie I hope you can get some rest today.
marydoll I hope you can get some relief from your pain today.

Have the best day possible everyone. Enjoy the sunshine if you have it!

GrannyGravy13 Thu 27-Mar-25 07:08:59

Morning everyone from a bright sunny S E Essex, I really hope that the weather has finally turned. I think my moods mirror the weather, I feel so much brighter when the sky is blue.

The cleaning fairies are here first thing, I will continue with y mini declutter and sort out, very therapeutic.

Have a good day folks 🙋‍♀️

NannyJan53 Thu 27-Mar-25 07:06:47

Good morning from a cloudy Black Country, where it slowly looks to be brightening.

Busy day yesterday, washing, tidying house. Then into town to buy Mum a present for Mother's Day.

Walking group walk this morning, with a cafe stop along the way.

Wishing you all the best day possible.

Grandmabatty Thu 27-Mar-25 07:06:28

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 10° and raining. Bellasnana enjoy your day with the boys. Ladyleftfieldlover I found Lady Chatterley very tedious. I'm a fan of Solzhenitsyn though.
Yesterday breakfast at the nursery was just lovely. Pancakes and fruit and dgs2 was adorable with his best friend. He sat and fed her strawberry and blueberries. She's a wee cutie. Then I visited mum, however she slept the entire visit. At least I know I was there! In the afternoon I worked for a couple of hours in the school library. Everyone is very pleased with it. I think there will be a grand opening at some point.
Then home for a bit of gardening and then a rest.
Today I'm doing little apart from working in the library again this afternoon. I might eventually get stuff to the charity shop. It's cluttered up my dining room and the boot of the car. I'm going to dds for dinner because she made far too much last night. I'll look forward to seeing the family. Have a good day all

Grammaretto Thu 27-Mar-25 07:05:12

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. I'm back in bed listening to the forecast.
Beautiful yesterday but it was cold last night in Edinburgh waiting to meet my family, 2 of whom were performing in the Usher Hall.
My cold is worse this morning so I'll not visit my poorly friend.

I like your expression Karmalady The day will sort itself out

Greyduster Thu 27-Mar-25 06:45:07

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. The weather can’t make its mind up at the moment but it’s supposed to be dry all day. I went to bed at nine o’clock last night and didn’t wake up until just after six this morning. I feel like Rip Van Winkle! Walking group this morning and then lunch with DD and, hopefully, if he has no sessions at school, GS. On the way home I will go to Dunelm for new oven gloves. My current ones are a disgrace.
Have the best day you can, folks.

Ladyleftfieldlover Thu 27-Mar-25 06:44:31

Morning all from West Oxfordshire.

We enjoyed the film Conclave yesterday. Beautifully filmed, excellent acting and an interesting story. Highly recommended.

Later, we took our two ancient cats Milo and Ripley for their annual checkups, jabs etc. They are in good health. A shocking bill of well over £200!

I am having a hair cut this morning. Over lunch time it is the monthly book group in the village coffee shop. Our theme this month is‘’banned books’. I will talk about Lady Chatterley’s Lover and the First Circle by Solzhenitsyn (my favourite book ever).

Have a good day. I hope the FGT2s are enjoying the sun and that MaryD can have some respite.

kittylester Thu 27-Mar-25 06:42:00

Good morning all from a cloudy North Leicestershire.

We are going into town as DH has a hair appointment and I want to go to M&S. Hopefully we can find somewhere not too busy for lunch and then we want to go to the pictures.

Have the best day you can everyone.

baubles Thu 27-Mar-25 06:28:06

Good morning from bright and cool Edinburgh.

I’ve had a couple of days of school/nursery pick ups and lots of time with the children which has been so enjoyable, especially in the fine weather we’ve had.

Home today though, DH had his cataract operation yesterday and I felt bad that I couldn’t be with him. He’s managed fine but was disappointed to be told not to be doing anything strenuous so the power washing he’d planned for the weekend will have to be postponed.

Wishing everyone a good day as far as possible.

RosesandLilac Thu 27-Mar-25 06:08:51

Good morning, a cloudy spot here in south Glos.
Yesterday the washing dried beautifully outside, it was pleasantly warm in the sunshine so I sat and enjoyed the scent of my hyacinths, jonquils and a wonderful Daphne that has exquisite perfume.
I have a hairdresser appointment this morning and I need to go and collect a dog food order while I’m out. I will walk the dogs first then they’ll be sorted for the morning.
Little else planned so let’s see what the day brings 🌹

Sallyforth Thu 27-Mar-25 06:00:25

Good morning Mick and all from a clear morning in Cheshire. Good that your health is OK Mick. I woke sneezing and sniffling and I've had to put some vases of some flowers outside. After an antihistamine and a coffee I'm feeling a bit more like facing the day. Pollen count to be high today. On the plus side, a blackbird has been loudly welcoming the dawn from the rooftops.

The gardener's here this morning to reach the things I can't. Even he has to use a ladder and he's tall. The ivy from next door is a nuisance coming over a high wall and he keeps it cut right back.

Waiting in for deliveries today, so will keep busy and wash the patio when the gardener's worked on the garden. Yesterday was glorious here and I'm hoping for the same today.

I'm off to text my sister in hospital to see what sort of a night she's had. She's finding sleep difficult or I should say lack of sleep. She'll say I'm late this morning!

Wishing you a good day everyone. Kind wishes to those with pain or worries. flowers

Ashcombe Thu 27-Mar-25 05:47:19

Good morning from Torbay where we have a stunning sunrise.

Yesterday afternoon, I managed a short solo walk to a bench in the park opposite my flat which was confidence building. It was just far enough as I do tire easily. I haven’t slept well since being home from hospital, apart from the first couple of nights, as I’ve been troubled by unpleasant dreams, verging on nightmarish at times. No doubt that will settle in time.

Today one of the clergy from my church will be celebrating Holy Communion with me here which is kind.
A poignant day for you, *Bellasnana. 💐

Wishing everyone a good day, free from pain and worry if possible. 🦩💐🦩🥰🦩

grandMattie Thu 27-Mar-25 05:47:07

Good morning from Bristol. Like karma, there is thin cloud all over, but it’s dry.
I was extremely tired yesterday, and was not in the mood to be pleasant to people at the FAB cafe. There is one sad lady who comes every week, and knows everything, done everything, been everywhere….
We were just about to close when someone came along. Cue staying open for a bit more. By that stage, I was on my knees, started to clear up, nudging people out when another person came along. One of the AgeUK hosts told him we had shut. My hero!
I did nothing for the rest of the day, had a long nap too. Better night last night too.
Today, I’ve just got tai chi.
Glad that FGT managed to fly off, they must be happy. MD, good luck with the medical profession.
