Good morning from a bright Black Country, where it rained overnight. Forecast is sunny for today though.

A wonderful walk yesterday with my fortnightly Walk and Talk group. Along the canal to a fisheries lake and a cafe. There were about 20 of us and the sun was shining, it was like a summers day!

Another walk this morning, as it is my u3a's monthly Walking Group walk . Then after onto Mums to take her food shopping.

Wishing you all the best day possible.

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. It's raining steadily and feels cold.
But at least my cold is getting better after a day of rest sloth .
I shared some family records with
my siblings.

I battled with a faulty heating system. My lodger reported a broken washing machine and my kiln didn't turn itself off so is stuck at top temperature. That's 3 things but there are probably more. 😞

Malaga sounds perfect FGT. 🌴
🌞

Sorry about your friend Baubles.

I hope everyone has some joy today.
Wait there's the sun. 🌞

Morning from my bit of South Lanarkshire. I’m sorry to read about the loss of your friend and neighbour baubles. Her husband keeping a lighted candle in the window for her is very moving, I have never heard of that tradition💐

I too am attending a funeral this morning, not however a close friend, just respect for the mum of two of my daughters’ friends. The girls spent as lot of time in our house when they were all teenagers and they are all still close now.

Lovely flowers arrived last night from my Connel family and for once I have managed to ‘arrange’ them to show them properly. Artistic I am not and am envious daily when I read of the talents of so many on here.

Sun peeping through the clouds so I will ‘arise and go now’, wishing everyone a good and peaceful day with relief for those in pain.

Good morning all from a wet Glasgow.

Lovely to see Scotty pop in yesterday.

I know it is a case of the pot calling the kettle black, but GM, it is no wonder you are tired, you are so busy. No point in telling you to slow down, I suppose?
That is strange about your PC. It is usually quite easy to get into PC system, remotely, if you know how.
I initially misread it, I thought the engineer couldn't unscrew it! 🤣

BabyD was in top firm yesterday, she is extremely nosy a people watcher and had a ball.
It was the correct decision to go to Braehead, we had torrential rain yesterday.
Mr MD, a man who loathes shopping, was unusually compliant and even bought some new clothes. 😂

BabyD was so excited a going to McDonald's, a rare treat. I had a notion for a burger and DH was happy, if it meant I ate something. An error was made in the order and we ended up with extra food at no extra charge.
We were a bit wet, having got caught in a deluge, just getting from the car to the restaurant. BabyD was so indignant at getting wet, that she told everyone who passed: Knee wet, papa hair wet, Ga Ga wet. This was all done in a very loud voice, while pointing outside at the rain and stroking papa's wet hair. Then she started complaining that a baby was making too much noise, despite her being a prime example of a fish wife!
She kept everyone entertained. 🥰
DIL, messaged to say, baby was so tired, she refused her bedtime story and immediately fell asleep, unheard of.
She wasn't the only one, DH and I crawled into bed very early.😂

Today, we are off out for lunch with DD and SIL. They have already suggested, what I should order, for I won't be able to eat much.😉 My loss, their gain.
A cunning plan has been hatched. Rather than walk (I couldn't do it) and go over the muddy, boggy field, we are getting a bus to their village and the train to town. Later, we will go back to the village pub for a Guinness for DH. A proper day out.
DD and I fancied a Bellini in Grand Central, but the menfolk say it is only for posers and the beer is not to their liking , are digging their heels in! 😂
I have been advised that there will be absolutely no shopping.🤣

Enjoy your holidays all. Hugs for all, who need them.

PS, I have heard nothing from my GP. 😔
Obviously I have used up my NHS allowances and he hopes, I will stop pestering him and just go away. It is not a dental problem, but a medical one, so a dentist can't really help, apart from suggesting some pain relief. It is linked to my RA meds.

Good morning Mick and everyone from a rather grey and windy Carlisle. A showery day is forecast. I'm glad it also rained at bedtime, heavily so. The garden needed it.
Yesterday was quite pleasant weather-wise but, being a tad off-colour, I confined my gardening activities to watering an ericaceous feed around my camellia and rhododendrons. It's more trouble keeping plants happy in this garden than the last one where I just put things in and they grew lustily in spite of being regularly blasted by salty southwestern gales.

Today I'm still wobbly but planning to nip out into the countryside to visit the garden centre and replenish my fresh veggies on the way. Then home to an afternoon of reading.

I hope you all have a pleasant day.

Grandmabatty Fri 28-Mar-25 07:59:51

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 6° and wet. Ginny I hope your daughter's house move goes well. GrandMattie I always think the acoustics in a church make a lovely sound. Enjoy the concert. Ash it's good to hear you are getting out a bit more.
Yesterday I worked in the school library and was boiled alive with the heat. It's centrally switched on and off so I had to thole it. Then later I nipped to dds to share her pilaf she'd made. The boys weren't there as they were still at their other grandparents. Once back home, I remembered to put the bin out but got caught in a fearful downpour. Everything I wore had to be stripped off. My jacket dripped all over the floor.
Today I've woken early after a bad night. I was up at half one having a cuppa. I then woke before six but lay in bed reading. The rain is more showery but still heavy in bursts, so no gardening today. I'll get housework done and maybe the food shop I need to last me through the weekend. Dd will call in later to pick up her laundry - just call me widow twanky. I won't be going far in the heavy rain anyway. Have a good day all.

GrannySomerset Fri 28-Mar-25 07:58:55

A cheerfully sunny morning so the first half of the day looks promising though the forecast suggests rain later. Am off to have coffee with an old friend so a very chatty time ahead. Otherwise nothing planned so will let the day unfold.

Liberty Fri 28-Mar-25 07:52:36

Good morning from a slightly overcast Suffolk although there was some sun a little while ago.

I shall join DH on this morning’s dog walk which I can’t do when I have my classes and I have to leave home by 9.05am. The primroses in our garden are UCH more widespread than ever and I imagine they will be in the little wood we walk through if we turn right rather than left at the little bridge at the bottom of ‘our ‘ track.

I have a hair appointment this afternoon so a slow peaceful day ahead which I’m looking forward to after a busy week. Kind thoughts to all.

BlueSapphire Fri 28-Mar-25 07:46:52

Good morning everyone from a cloudy and rainy Northampton, but sun is forecast later this morning.

A busy day yesterday, but taken at a snail's pace, as there was no urgency to complete the tasks! Cleaned the.kitchen and utility room, then did the bathrooms, followed by a Sainsbury's delivery. Then I decided to change the bedding, and I also swapped to a lighter duvet. Not sure whether to set the machine going and get the bedding washed today, or leave it till tomorrow, when rain is not forecast.
Spent the rest of the afternoon reading; feel like giving up on the book as it is not my usual sort of read, but I suppose book club is meant to stretch us at times. I am about a third through it.

Three dance classes this morning then coffee with my dancer friend and a good catch-up.
A restful afternoon will follow, more reading, then a potato and egg curry for dinner.

Found a parcel in the porch when I went to pick up my paper this morning - a new dress for my cruise to try on after my shower!

Wishing all a very good day.

Georgesgran Fri 28-Mar-25 07:43:51

Good morning from a bright, sunny Durham. Unfortunately, with a keen wind, it’s really cold.
Coffee with a friend this morning, then I’m taking Little Dog and DD2s laundry over to her. We plan to take DGS2 out, but the venue will be decided by the weather.
I was almost scammed yesterday when I received a text that an (expected) delivery couldn’t be made as the address was unclear. I followed the link and filled in half the form, until it asked for a payment of 23euro, by bank details!! Lucky escape.

Best wishes to all. X

glammagran Fri 28-Mar-25 07:40:16

Good morning to you all from a fair Wiltshire.

For reasons I can’t explain I’ve felt exceptionally tired this week. Not sleeping any more or less atm. I have an epiretinal membrane which is causing my sight in one eye to deteriorate more lately, maybe that’s why. My last hospital eye appointment has been cancelled without a reason and when I phoned they said they would send a new one out at some point.

Tomorrow we are staying overnight with DD1 near Reading. Then on Sunday going to DS in Newbury. We will see DD2 hopefully today at some point.

A sad day for you yesterday Bellasnana. I hope you are feeling better today Susan56. It’s hard to believe you cannot get the help you desperately need Marydoll.

Have a good day everyone.

Gingster Fri 28-Mar-25 07:36:54

Good morning all and it’s a bit grey here in Essex.

Yesterday was so busy, I counted how many times I left the house either by car or in foot. 7 times! 😳.

DGD slept over and I’ll wake her up in a minute. Her school is a 5 minute walk from here, so no rush.
Dgd1 is ‘home’ for a few days and will pick her sister up from school and take her back for the weekend. They love being together - 13 years difference but as close as close can be.❤️.

We’ll meet our Friday friends for a lunchtime drink and catchup. Haven’t seen them for a couple of weeks so lots of chat.

Take care all 🌱

kittylester Fri 28-Mar-25 07:33:23

Good morning all from a soggy North Leicestershire. We had a heavy rain shower a few minutes ago but it has stopped now.

I have a busy day ahead -the butcher's, Waitrose, Tesco, a phone call with my 'line manager' and delivering a son in law to the train station in Leicester.

DH is going to the gym!

Have the best day possible everyone.

monk08 Fri 28-Mar-25 07:32:01

Good morning all from the Black country where the sun is breaking through after overnight rain.
We are picking the boys up from school and over to theirs for dinner/tea early mothers day treat.
Sallyforth hope you feel better soon.
Best wishes for anyone celebrating, enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans and may you all find a little bit of ☀️.

RosieandherMaw Fri 28-Mar-25 07:26:57

Good morning from N Bucks where it’s grey with a few spots of rain. Never mind, it will be sunny again later I am assured.
A Waitrose delivery this morning then the hairdresser at 2. Slightly apprehensive because she can be erratic, sometimes great, but sometimes I wonder if I should look elsewhere, hmm.
Still, it needs attention as tomorrow I am off to London to see The Years with D3, a birthday present from D2 who I hope will meet us afterwards. She is currently weekly commuting to Amsterdam where her opera at Dutch National Opera opens in just under 4 weeks. Reading about the stabbings there yesterday I am trying not to fuss (but of course you do)

With gentle thoughts to all for a pleasant day 💐

madeleine45 Fri 28-Mar-25 07:08:43

Good morning Mick and all GN's on a bright but cold morning here in North Yorkshire, but with a couple of clouds lurking.

The forecast here is for showers some heavy, and so not risking the buggy this morning, but going in the car for a few bits and the local paper. I am up and dressed but struggling, with aches and pains at the moment. Frustrating, as I had worked quite hard yesterday and planned to try and do a bit of gardening today, but not at the moment. Car is saying it needs an oil change so need to ring garage and see when I can get that done. Am itching to get off to Swaledale but dont want to risk any problems. The car seems to be running ok apart from that , after standing for quite a few weeks.
Hopefully will get that sorted too. Very weary from yesterday as did manage to get two lots of washing done and the bed changed and towels lovely and dry and smelling sweet from being dried outside. Think I am paying for it a bit today.

So apart from contacting the garage have a chess lesson this morning and then must look at some music. I had promised myself last week that I would get back to practising every day, but good intentions did not come off and various things got in the way. So must do better, and get back to proper practising. Am singing with someone on monday so need to make an effort.

After much hassle and faffing about I also changed my electricity supplier for a newer one, with a good write up and quite a few pounds cheaper too, but what a hassle sorting it all out. Martin Lewis had said that it was worth changing now because things will be going up from 1st April and so I managed to end up getting a fixed price, so done the best I could. It is all such a hassle on line and would much prefer to walk into a shop and speak to a person and get it done like that but maybe I dont have to go out but it is more of a drag sorting it out online, and checking I have done the best thing.

The problem these days is that wherever I have looked all flats for over 60's are now totally electric - they seem to think we are incapable of turning off gas etc., but for whatever reason , not having a choice means that we are paying the most for fuel, with no option and now without the winter fuel allowance. They go on about saving electricity and fuel etc .,yet they are still allowing them to build houses that are not well insulated and dont have solar panels as basics on roof whilst they are building. That and good wide spaced double glazing would be much more efficient and also keep noise down. If it was made a rule that all new housing had to be at a good insulation and with the panels then the builders could not say they couldnt do it because others would make cheaper places. Well that is my rant for the day over!

Ah the morning is just cheered by listening to Bach. When they suggest stress removers, such as deep breathing and yoga, they dont add in my best stress relief of 5 minutes listening to Bach. I feel myself relaxing as I listen.!! Hope that everyones day improves and whatever is calming and pleasing improves your day.

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Fri 28-Mar-25 07:02:34

I wasn’t sure if there is any time difference between here and Malta Bellasnana so I just looked it up. We are the same. I’ll look at the clock in two hours and imagine you taking two very smartly dressed boys into their school for that photo session!

Redcar Fri 28-Mar-25 07:01:13

Good morning everyone from mid Essex. It’s dry, mild and cloudy at the moment, a little rain is forecast for this morning. The garden is already quite dry so rain will be welcome.
Yesterday was a beautiful sunny day and my neighbour very kindly cut the grass for me. I sat with his wife while he cut the grass. She has dementia, but smiled at me and said ‘hello’ when I walked in. I doubt she knew who I was though. Also cleaned the bathroom, cleared the drain from the shower & washed the floor. Did a machine load of washing and got it dry outside.

Not sure what I’ll do today, I need to vacuum and May flick a duster about, may go for a walk depending on the weather.
Bingo in the village hall this evening, it’s usually good fun, especially as many of the participants are hard of hearing, so don’t always hear the numbers!
Have the best day possible everyone.

ginny Fri 28-Mar-25 07:00:02

Good. morning.
DD2s moving day today so must get going. I am on catering duties and as she is convinced that her new house will not be overly clean , I’m on the cleaning squad too.. DH and DDs 1 & 3 will be helping as well. Hope the weather behaves.
Wishing you all a pleasant day with a smile along the way.

baubles Fri 28-Mar-25 06:59:28

Good morning from soggy South Lanarkshire.

I really dislike the way our weather can change overnight. One day beautiful warm sunshine and the bluest of skies and the next wind and lashing rain. Yesterday turned into a filthy night.

Today is the funeral of my friend and neighbour. Her husband has had a candle burning in the window every night since she died.

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

Greyduster Fri 28-Mar-25 06:55:35

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. It’s raining in South Yorkshire this morning. Yesterday was a gorgeous day. On our walk through the woods we stopped, along with a group of very small children, to look at a large number of frogs in the pond. I don’t know who was the more excited - us or the little ones! I had lunch with DD, and GS, who had just had lunch out with a friend, brought flowers for his mum and for me. He’s a sweet boy. I tidied up the lower garden when I came home and had a long chat on the phone with an old friend in the evening. We make each other laugh.
Today I have some shopping to do and give the house a bit of a spruce for visitors tomorrow. School has an inset day so no volunteering today. But at the moment I am in no hurry to get up!
Have the best day you can folks.

Ladyleftfieldlover Fri 28-Mar-25 06:55:19

Morning all from West Oxfordshire.

I had a good haircut yesterday. Then book group. There were a dozen of us talking about various banned books. I talked about Lady Chatterley and The First Circle by Solzhenitsyn.

I had a good chat with my brother. Still no baby news from my niece.

I am having a quiet day today. It will be nice not to have to whizz off anywhere. Daughter will be here tomorrow for the weekend so I’ll prepare her room.

Have a good day.

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Fri 28-Mar-25 06:53:50

Good morning everybody from Málaga. It’s sunny, the palm trees are dancing merrily and the little green parakeets are practicing their formation squadron flying. I think they’re really cute birds.

Not sure what we might do with ourselves today. There’s a bus stop outside the entrance here, the Patronata. There’s one an hour into Torremolinos centro. I’m thinking we might hop on one (never done this before we usually walk but as it takes just over an hour partly uphill I think it would be too tiring for Himself nowadays)and have a mooch then coffee and people watch. We could either lunch there and stay the afternoon or get the train from Torremolinos back in this direction and get off at Fuengirola and have a later lunch there in our favourite square by the church. I do like Fuengirola. It’s very busy, more shops (not that I’m looking - I’ve only recently culled my wardrobe!) and it’s pretty if you keep away from the paseo which, at the end near the train station can be a bit tatty.

We will see how we feel and decide as the day unfolds.

GrannyGravy13 Fri 28-Mar-25 06:51:41

Morning all, it’s overcast here in S E Essex and meant to stay like it all day along with gusts of wind making it feel like 5 degrees, chilly!

Off to the gym first thing, coffee and catch up with friends afterwards.

School pick up, quick snack for the boys, shower them and get them dressed. We are taking them and DD to our local Tapas restaurant for dinner tonight, early Mother’s Day treat.

Have a good day folks 🙋‍♀️

RosesandLilac Fri 28-Mar-25 06:34:22

Good morning, it’s raining here in south Glos, grey and dull.
Yesterday I walked the dogs before going to the hairdresser then collected the dog food before going into town. The vets owed me a refund, very welcome, and I stocked up on vegetables and fruit from the greengrocers before coming home.
Tiddler and I spent a couple of hours in the armchair, me reading, her snoring, before our afternoon walk. DH took Annie off across the fields, a lovely walk in sunshine.
Today I have art group this morning, otherwise just a usual sort of day ahead.

Hugs to those who need them 🌹
