Please, please, don't look straight at the sun,
get a shield or something similar
The eclipse is due from 09:46 to 12:14pm
It will be 50 per cent in Scotland and 30 per cent in the South of England area.
Although the weather will be cloudy in Scotland it expected to be clear in Southern England

Why is it that whenever there's a "sky event" the clouds build up here on the Angus coast and all is obscured?! Sod's Law I suppose. However I've just looked at my trusty (well, almost) weather app and I see that the day of rain promised is now an afternoon of rain, so all may not be lost after all 🤞

Ps on no account should we look at the sun through a telescope! It is to project the sun's partial eclipse on to white card.

A totally blue sky here in the south. Can’t honestly say that I noticed any difference in the light

Lovely sunshine almost all week. This morning, horizon to horizon rain clouds.

Here in Oxfordshire I did notice that the sun was a bit less bright this morning despite a totally blue sky. I tried to see the reflection of the sun in a container of water but was unable to see it. I think that either the sun was too low in the sky or I am thick!!

I have ordered a pair of eclipse viewing glasses for future such events, only £6.69.

It was visible this morning NW UK via a welders helmet!

I saw it using the free Eclipse glasses from all those years ago….. I KNEW they would eventually come in useful!!!
