soop has been in touch. She will not be on GN today, I think, as she is unwell. Please carry on your usual kind chatting. soop was saying yesterday what lovely people you all are.

GrannyGravy13 Fri 09-May-25 17:40:40

A quick pop in to catch up (no chance)

Pleased your annulments have been granted naughtyneine

Difficult time for you SueD

Ouch that finger looks really sore.

DH and I are off out for an early dinner, we are going to a steak restaurant, I am not a fan of steak but DH enjoys it. I shall find an alternative.

Night night 🙋‍♀️

Blossoming Fri 09-May-25 17:02:18

Sending love and strength to FGT2 and SueD, will be thinking of you both.

Glad that you’ve both had a good outcome Neine, now you can both look forward to the future x.

MrB and I have been for a walk across the bridge to the Marina, then around the Marina and back across the opposite side of the bridge. It’s the longest walk I’ve attempted using the walker and I’m very happy but tired now. Time for a snooze before dinner.

Wishing you all a peaceful evening ♥️🌹

cornergran Fri 09-May-25 14:02:17

That all sounds as efficient and effective as it could be fgt. Love to you both x.

TillyTrotter Fri 09-May-25 14:00:15

Neine glad to hear your annulments are both through. You can truly look to the future now.

brook I hope your SD will settle quickly in her new home. Soon after a house move my car took the wrong lane from town towards my old house - I swear I had nothing to do with the mistake. It’s just habits; we get used to familiar things and new things can be scary at first.

GrannySomerset Fri 09-May-25 13:12:40

My prayers are with you and yours, FGT.

TillyTrotter Fri 09-May-25 13:12:11

The reassurance of DH’s Care Team is what you both need fgt.
Try not to worry too much before the appt on Monday (easy to say I know). Warmest wishes 🍀

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Fri 09-May-25 12:54:38

Just an update.
Flights home are booked for tomorrow morning and the Christie secretary rang me. She’s lovely. Appointment given for Monday afternoon, bloods, clinic and possible camera down. Very efficient.

Grannmarie Fri 09-May-25 10:47:13

Sending love and prayers for all who wish/ need them, thinking especially of SueD and FGTs.💕🙏

Sending love FGT.

Naughtyneine Fri 09-May-25 08:21:41

FGT.. Just read your post on the Good Morning thread..I will be keeping you both in my thoughts and prayers today and hoping that the Christie team are able to reassure you both and that this is just a blip. ♥️

Naughtyneine Fri 09-May-25 07:38:50

Early morning pop in before the busyness of the day takes over. I've caught up with all your news.

SueD.... My heart goes out to you coping with your bereavement and DH and DS illness. It's a hard path to be travelling. It's a good thing that they have picked up a change in your son and can now start the best course going forward. I will keep you all in my prayers.
FGT...you too. I'm hoping that your DH is feeling better now and that it was maybe just the late in the day travel etc that caused his blip. Enjoy your girly gossips.

Granmarie...still very early days for you and the 'firsts' are never easy. I'm so glad your boys were there to help you through and your DGD too. ♥️
Yia...ouchy ouch... I've done similar on many occasions since my hip op . The reason it's beginning redone is because the surgeon set my leg inwards... Nobody can understand why as it's normally only done that way for people in their 80s to reduce the chance of dislocation. I was 66 and it's meant I trip over my own feet. Now when it happens and I'm in a heap on the floor I say loudly ' I really must have milk on my cornflakes not vodka'.

Brook...Keeping my fingers crossed that it was just travel and not a cold or hay fever. I'm sure your brother very much appreciated you travelling so far to support him. Fingers crossed for the move today...and then your daughter can get on with the rest of her life...new beginnings.

GrannyS... That's very sad news and hard for everyone involved..💐

GrannyC... Not an easy decision to make I'm sure.... But with back up on hand it's a very sensible one given the costs of maintaining a car these days. My dog did exactly the same to me during lockdown..I refused to go to the hospital for fear of COVID until my ring finger refused to go back to normal 6 hours later and I ended up at a major trauma unit having 2 spiral fractures operated on along with a fracture to my little finger too.

Redcar...I can hardly type the word dentist without a shudder.... I've just received a reminder that my check up is due.... I'll drag that out as long as possible.

LLfL.. Where do they get these names from...I do wonder.. One of DH's company cars was supposed called Sparkling Amethyst....I sorted when he told me and said if I'd been given an amethyst that colour I'd have cried....it was the colour of an aubergine and I hated it.

We had a wonderful time in Tenby.... The weather was glorious and the ' children ' loved the beach and the sea and apart from the first night when they were quite restless they settled well into Moho life which meant I relaxed too. The site we were on was just perfect for us.... spotlessly clean facilities but no clubhouse, pool etc which suits us just fine. We were the only ones on the grass pitch area which overlooked the surrounding valleys and was only a few metres from a huge area especially for dogs.... So we could open the door of Henrietta and say into the field and off they went...closely followed by one of us armed with poop bags ( you don't get that excitement on an All Inclusive 🤣🤣).

The icing on the cake came at 8.02 on Friday morning when an email arrived to tell us that the Judges at the trial the day before had granted both our Annulments. There were tears and joy unbounded in equal measure.

cornergran Fri 09-May-25 07:30:08

Thinking of you both fgt x

Yiayia4 Fri 09-May-25 07:27:28

Praying it is a virus FGT lots of love and hugs to you both.❤️

brook2704 Fri 09-May-25 07:14:46

Oh fgt I hope it’s just a minor setback but definitely right to let the experts decide, take care sending ❤️ x

Pantglas2 Fri 09-May-25 07:09:21

Just read your post FGT and hope it is just a bug and you don’t have to jet back just yet 🤞

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Fri 09-May-25 07:01:37

Good morning from cloudy Málaga. Himself is struggling swallowing and had a bad night. I left a message on the Christie nurses ansaphone as the clinic always say “let us know if anything changes”. We are therefore waiting to hear back today and arrange flights home. I’m worried of course this has all come on so suddenly and fiercely.

I’m taking a break for a few days from GN. I will post this message on soops. Himself just said ‘maybe I’m panicking? Maybe it’s a virus?’ He thinks like gastritis. But I said we ought to let the experts decide.
Sensible I think?

cornergran Thu 08-May-25 23:19:32

Hello everyone. Many thanks for thr kind messages. I did indeed have the best day. My pattern is not to voice what I’d really like to do, this time I did, it happened and was wonderful. Mr C has been trying not to say he told me so and nearly succeeded. smile.

Our close neighbour is also working through a serious cancer diagnosis grannys. We’re also struggling to get across to two ferociously independent people not only is it OK to ask for and accept practical support it would give us immense pleasure to be able to do it. Hard to tread the right path isn’t it?

Hope the move goes well for your daughter brook.

Giving up a car is a brave decision for sure grandmac47. Hope that finger improves rapidly.

Please take care yia. Gently does it.

soop it’s worth finding an ideal rollator for your situation, your independence and ability to live a life is oh so important.

Good news for sure kitty. Hope, there will be good news about mrfgt who I thinks is still under the weather.

My eyes are closing now. Apologies to those I’ve missed, it doesn’t mean I’ve not been thinking about you.

Good night everyone.

SueDonim Thu 08-May-25 23:02:46

It was my brother’s funeral today, so many people came to say farewell to him.

TOYA. Xx

Grran Thu 08-May-25 22:34:01

GrannySomerset, I am so sorry to read of your lovely neighbour. My friend had this too and I well remember the initial shock. They are lucky to have you by their sides.

Ladyleftfieldlover Thu 08-May-25 22:25:35

Hello kitchen people.

The decorators finished painting the outside of the house . It looks good. I think the colour is frosted papaya!

I had my roots done and a cut this afternoon. My hair dresser is very good.

OH and I have been inspired by the Throw Down Pottery programme. I have booked us both onto a 4-week (one night per week) throwing course in June. Should be fun. I did pottery at school and a term-long course years ago, but I have never used a wheel. OH has never done any pottery at all.

I hope all is well with the FGT2S.

Sleep 💤 tight.

brook2704 Thu 08-May-25 19:59:04

Sorry to hear about your neighbour grannysomerset, it must be so difficult, sending a gentle hug ❤️
A big decision GrandmaC47 but lovely if your kind daughters can help you out with lifts etc
Thank you all for your kind comments on DD2s move tomorrow, we’ve spent the day today doing the last bits of packing, cleaning and sorting out etc. DH has done numerous tip runs and I’ve been doing all the rotten cleaning jobs that she kindly left for me 🥴 Anyhow we’re packed up and she’s ready for the move tomorrow. I think DGD is quite emotional and said she’d miss the house, DGS not so bothered. Her new house is smaller so I hope everything fits in. The big plus factor is it’s a new build so there shouldn’t be anything needing to be done for a while although she’s still got to get the carpets and hard flooring fitted
Good you got out again today Blossoming, take it easy, you too Yia look after yourself

Jaxjacky Thu 08-May-25 19:44:34

There are times GrannySomerset when life just seems so unfair.
Goodness GrandmaC47 that’s looks so painful, I hope it’s improving today.
Hope you’ve had the best day cornergran 🦁 🎂🥂
I agree Redcar about teeth, like Lego, painlessly slotted in or out!
Stretch class today, the library and vape shop for MrJ. I also
booked an appointment for both of our POA’s to be done, mine is ancient.
Just eaten dinner of sausages, beans and mash, thank you MrJ, now to check my Tesco order for tomorrow.
Best of luck tomorrow brook 👍

GrandmaC47 Thu 08-May-25 19:29:49

Thank you for your kind comments. My finger is still swollen but is less, painful but realised I couldn’t hold a knife so dinner will be finger food 😀
We made a major decision today to give up our car. It gets little used and really it’s just a comfort blanket but with two daughters both within six miles and willing to be a taxi service as necessary it seems the best thing to do.
Happy Birthday, Cornergran. I hope MrFgt is feeling better.
Kind thoughts to you all.
