soop has been in touch. She will not be on GN today, I think, as she is unwell. Please carry on your usual kind chatting. soop was saying yesterday what lovely people you all are.

Not good news SueD. As FGT says think positively. There are new treatments coming forward all the time.

Nannytopsy Wed 23-Apr-25 20:19:00

Very sorry to hear your news SueD but as FGT said, chemotherapy can be very effective now. Best wishes to FGT and DH tomorrow.
I had a good visit with our GP today who reassured me about my knee. It can take 12 months, which I had read but it was good to hear it and have the knee looked at. The hip is a waiting game. I may phone the hospital tomorrow …

SueDonim Wed 23-Apr-25 21:10:22

Thank you all. 🩷

Wishing you the best tomorrow, FGT. Xxx

So sorry to hear your news SueD, thinking of you both, hoping and praying for the best possible outcome.
Good luck to the FGTs for tomorrow.
Hope Nannytopsy's appointment went well.
Safe journey and happy family time to brook and DH.
Kind thoughts to Grandmabatty and family.
Special hugs to the Soops.
Sorry to hear that, UTBB, hoping things settle down soon.
My Easter didn't go as planned. I spent 12 hours in A and E on Sunday, the boys stayed with me all the time. I had dreadful arm, shoulder and chest pains, felt quite sick, so afraid I was going to die in the same place as DH four weeks ago. ECG, blood tests and chest x Ray ruled out cardiac issues, thank God. When I finally saw a doctor he examined me and diagnosed muscular damage so I got home with painkillers and a referral for physio. I'm still in a lot of pain with limited mobility ( can't bend or stretch) but so very thankful that it's not life threatening.
TOYA, NNGB.

Just read your post Grannmarie your must have been so frightened, I’m very pleased, whilst unpleasant your pain is, very serious events were ruled out. Gently does it now 🌹

GrandmaC47 Thu 24-Apr-25 08:23:20

Grannmarie so scary for you. Glad it was less serious. Hope the pain subsides soon.

dragonfly46 Thu 24-Apr-25 10:36:38

Just popped in to wish FGT and her DH all the best for today. I tried to send a PM but was told FGT is unable to accept PMs at the moment!!

Straight back at you soop and MrS. X

Redcar Thu 24-Apr-25 14:07:05

grannmarie you must have been so frightened by your pain. I hope that the painkillers help and that you’ll soon feel better.

I’m looking after DD1’s dog today and have also had a podiatrist appointment, I’m back with the dog now, cheeky girl wanted a second lot of treats and biscuits when I came back! I hope the dog walker came while I was out!
It’s sunny here too soop but with a cool breeze. The flowers are out and the birds singing, but no lovely sea view unfortunately!
Sending comforting thoughts to those who have health or other worries.

gillgran Thu 24-Apr-25 15:24:35

Thank you, soop, what a lovely, kind & thoughtful post.

Warm thoughts for you & MrSoop, also for all in your friendly, caring kitchen. x

Grandmadinosaur Thu 24-Apr-25 15:50:14

That sounds idyllic Soop thinking of you and Mr*soop*💐

Thinking of the FGTs too this afternoon.💐

What a dreadful time you are having Grannmarie hoping you will make a speedy recovery. 💐

My DH has gone down to London today. Should have been at a meeting which got cancelled. He decided to go anyway rather than lose the tickets. He’s meeting an old acquaintance and going to a gallery. Being home alone I’ve had a wardrobe sort out. Doesn’t it feel great when that’s done? Before he’s back I will also catch up with The Piano from the weekend.

Best wishes to all in the kitchen.

Ladyleftfieldlover Thu 24-Apr-25 16:14:39

Hello kitchen people. I hope your pain is easing, grannmarie. Love to the soops too.

I had a lovely time at my Book Group. I did make a mess though eating my BLT Bap! Someone recommended it but I couldn't help drop bits on the floor of the cafe! There were 12 of us today, which is a good number. We each speak twice - first about the recommended or themed book and again to recommend one or two books we've read.

OH has gone off to see his bees again. One of his hives is 'weak' and he is not sure the Queen is still in existence. He will also pick up our monthly prescriptions from the Health Centre. Did we ever imagine that in our 70s we would each be taking several different types of medication each day?

Its my turn to cook dinner so I think I'll make a simple macaroni cheese and sausages. We've also got some chocolate bread and butter pudding left over from the weekend.

Have a good evening everyone. I wish the FGT2s a positive hospital appointment.
