soop has been in touch. She will not be on GN today, I think, as she is unwell. Please carry on your usual kind chatting. soop was saying yesterday what lovely people you all are.

Oh no GG13 how stressful! You can all do without this right now. I hope you dodge the bullet and can get off to Málaga for your early morning flight. 🤞

Just a quick pop in, we left Centre Parcs earlier than planned today due to The Imp being unwell ( he didn’t want to go swimming with everyone else so DH and I had him, he had been ok’ish. Playing in the outside park and in the soft play area, then suddenly ran back to us said he felt sick and promptly was)

By the time we arrived home, his brother was burning up and felt sick with a headache. I am keeping everything crossed that I dodge this as I am on a 7am flight to Malaga tomorrow morning. Poor DH will have to be a nurse once more as DD has to go into work.

I am behind with the kitchen news, hopefully I will catch up whilst away.

Hoping you have all had an enjoyable Easter 🙋‍♀️

Some lovely posts on here, a delight to read. ❤️

Brook have you tried M&S Sienna jeans? In particular their straight leg ones. They also do skinny/wide leg etc. Good prices, too, from £25. I’ve got a pair I’ve worn and washed, worn and washed for years and they’re still going strong.

We had a lovely day today. My best friend joined us for a roast chicken lunch and a choice of three puddings. We all managed to have a bit of each pudding + cream. blush Then dd came over with the family and tea/coffee and cakes/treats were consumed. After everyone left and I finished the tidying dh and I watched a film together. A day to treasure.

Xxx

I’m so pleased for you grandmab. A day to keep hold of.

Jeans are my clothing challenge too brook. I see a style that looks good, smart even, on someone else then when I try a pair on I look anything but well dressed. Good luck with the hunt.

A pleasant day here, we wandered out into the sunshine for a stretch this morning then tackled some garden bits after a snack lunch. A video from out grandson cheered us.

Tomorrow we’re calling to have coffee with our granddaughters Mum. I’m never sure how to refer to her since the divorce from our son but am just oh so grateful we’ve a decent relationship. Oir teenage granddaughter may or may not be out of bed to receive her Easter egg. grin.

Time for sleep now if I can. My sleep pattern is somewhat inconsistent. It a joy to read about Kitcheners having good days although while not forgetting those battling life’s challenges.

Goodnight everyone. Sleep tight.

I’m thinking it’s nearly bedtime after a bad night last night and a busy day. DS and family joined us for lunch, joining DD and family who have been here for a couple of days. It’s been lovely if chaotic. By tomorrow lunchtime it will all be finished!
So pleased your family got together GrandmaBatty - happy news.

Hello kitchen people. I hope you’ve all had the best Easter Sunday possible.

It was lovely to see our daughter. We enjoyed leg of lamb and all the trimmings followed by chocolate bread and butter pudding with lashings of cream. We had a bottle of wine too.

OH drove our daughter-shine to the station while I caught up with the papers.

I’m now in bed and wish you all a good night 💤.

Same here grandmadinosaur, a quieter day just the two of us, but we’ve been busy at home and got lots done in the garden and tackled some inside jobs too. The day has gone really quickly
Tomorrow I’ve got a volunteering session all morning and then in the afternoon I’ll go into town to collect and return some online orders. I never know what to buy these days, I’ve been trying to find new jeans that suit me - not easy having lived in leggings for at least the last 6 months. M&S have so many different shapes in jeans it’s hard to know what to get ..
Hope Imogen is over the worst now Jax poor girl
Hope Mr &Mrs Soop have enjoyed Easter and take care all x

So,so pleased for you Grandmabatty

It’s been a quiet day for us which was much needed.

Scapa1 Sun 20-Apr-25 21:37:07

Happy Easter everyone from another one in the quiet corner. It was lovely weather here today and we had a walk along the old railway line between Dunblane and Doune. A lovely flat walk. Then a visit to DS and family to deliver Easter eggs or rather Lindt bunnies. Home then to a lamb dinner a lovely day!
So happy for Grandmabatty you must be over the moon.

Grandmabatty Sun 20-Apr-25 21:08:58

Thank you ladies. I have missed him terribly and I'm very happy he's back in the family. The last gift my mum gave us was him returning.

kittylester Sun 20-Apr-25 19:54:53

How lovely to read of such a positive day for you, Batty. I hope your son continues to stay in touch.

FGT, sounds as though you had a lovely day too. That is great to hear to.

Glad you got our Blossoming.

I love to read everyone's posts but I am usually in the quiet corner, not because of any particular worries or sadness, but because I can't recall all the posters and I would hate to offend anyone. I will try harder. And I will post all the scintillating stuff going on in my life. grin They will be sort posts.

Jaxjacky Sun 20-Apr-25 19:15:47

What a heart warming post Grandmabatty I am so very pleased for you.
Great post FGT for those not in the best place right now.

Finley now chomping Easter eggs, Imogen still feeling ‘tummy fragile’.
We’ve had a very quiet (lazy) day, it’s been dull and decidedly cool, no wins on the meat draw in an extremely busy pub, they also had a large bag of about ten Easter eggs - won by a family, lovely.
Well done getting out Blossoming I bet that was just brilliant.
Duck in the oven ready soon, a f/b memory came up today, six years ago, sleeveless top sat outside!

‘Evening All’.

We’ve had a fabulous afternoon. My stepfather so enjoyed being with the children. L’il Miss had him laughing and joining in at the table a couple of times. He had a whisky, roast lamb dinner, a pudding (he has a sweet tooth!) and Himself took him home.

He and his brother have a chat on the phone every Sunday evening. A nice catch up. His brother will be 100 in a few weeks’ time and is totally self caring, apart from the fact his friend does a Waitrose food shop for him every Friday. Today he was cooking a half shoulder of lamb with veg and always has one glass of red wine with his dinner. He’s in a wine club still and has a delivery every so often to suit his needs. Quality of life is everything really isn’t it?

My heart goes out to all those who sit in the quiet corner or those who just like to come and read the posts without posting themselves. Some days are just darned tough aren’t they? I hope for better days ahead for any of you dealingcwith sorrow or anguish of any kind.

Grandmabatty you will be on Cloud 9 this evening. Surely a case of ‘out of sorrow comes joy’ for you all.

brook2704 Sun 20-Apr-25 18:10:06

Grandmabatty Sun 20-Apr-25 16:01:50

My cup is overflowing. The family have just left after three hours of chatting, eating and laughing. My ds came and joined in. He brought gifts for us all and a tiramisu to share. I have given them all food to take away and I'm about to empty and load the dishwasher again. The boys loved being with their uncle and he enjoyed being with them too. Life is good.

Yiayia4 Sun 20-Apr-25 14:09:55
