soop has been in touch. She will not be on GN today, I think, as she is unwell. Please carry on your usual kind chatting. soop was saying yesterday what lovely people you all are.

Good Afternoon Kitcheners.Good to hear from you Grannmarie.I hope your pain will start to ease with meds and some physio. So good to have your family around you especially your DGD to look after you.

What wicked people around to poison a cat Jax.I’m sure your son was devastated. It happens a lot in Greece and the poor cats suffer a terrible death,it breaks my heart.

Well yesterday was a bit eventful! My DS1 was doing a BBQ so off I trot to the supermarket for a few things.I got a shopping trolley out but it decided to slide away leaving me in a heap on the floor.Luckily for me two lovely guys rescued me or I might still be there.I felt such a fool and have quite a few bumps and bruises to show for it.Its certainly not been the best week for me.😂
A quiet day today it’s sunny but still chilly here.
Enjoy your afternoon everyone.

Blossoming Tue 06-May-25 17:02:57

Sorry to hear you’re having a bad week YiaYia and hope you’re not too hurt after your fall xx

Today MrB took me to the pharmacy to collect some of my meds. The pharmacy is just inside Morrisons but I didn’t feel up to having a browse round the special offers just yet. I felt quite pleased with myself, having negotiated the crowded entrance and managing not to be bowled over by impatient people!

Wishing you all a restful evening xx

GrannyGravy13 Tue 06-May-25 17:59:46

Oh dear YiaYia I hope your bruises and aches heal soon, you just have been mortified 🌸

Chilli con carne and rice for dinner, with crusty bread, guacamole and a green salad.

I cannot make out if I have a cold or really bad hay fever, I think I will be in bed early tonight.

Thinking of those in the quiet corner 🫖🍰

Night Night 🙋‍♀️

cornergran Tue 06-May-25 18:11:10

Ouch yiayia. Lots of talc and arnica needed.

Hay fever is certainly active at the moment grannyg. Although it’s foul I sort of hope it’s that rather than germs.

That’s progress blossoming. I chickened out of Sainsbury this afternoon. Never seen so many people struggling to get in and out. Why? Not a clue !

I’m so sorry about your sons cat jax. Despicable people for sure. Our heating was back on yesterday evening, it seems a bit milder today so 🤞 not needed later.

You’ve a kind and thoughtful granddaughter granmarie. It’s good to see you here.

Best be off. Tubs to water. Mr C is overly tired these days so I’ll sneak out and do it before he notices

Have a good evening everyone.

Jaxjacky Tue 06-May-25 19:02:34

Ouch Yia lots of tlc needed.
Just watered the garden corner very early in the year to be doing that.
A quick post from me as I keep getting my screen obscured by an ad, so I’m reporting this post xx

‘Evening all’

What an awful thing to happen to that much loved cat Jax. Beyond shocking. How DO people live with themselves?

I’ve had a great afternoon with my ‘ladies’. So good to see them and 2x more this visit! Wonderful.

Himself had a quiet afternoon with a little discomfort. We’ve just eaten at Pedro’s but shared. It was enough for him (I had the lion’s share, bless). He’s just taken paracetamol which is unusual for him - he bites the bullet when he can. We are sat reading on our little balcony with water and nibbling chocolate biscuits. I hope tomorrow is a better day for him.

Hi kitchen pals, it’s so good to be back with you all
Apologies I’m really out of touch with all the kitchen news but hoping to catch up soon - I’m still recovering from jet lag, 3 flights in under 24 hours isn’t to be recommended! 😞
My eyes are really red, watery and itchy, I don’t know if it’s hay fever or the after effects of the long haul flying, I’ve taken an antihistamine which hasn’t really made any difference except making me feel even more sleepy 😴
Sending hugs to all in the quiet corner, take care all x

Thank you all for your kind words, the memorial service went really well for my sister in law, with a choir and musicians making the service really beautiful. There were lots of people there and it was streamed online to those who couldn’t attend in person. The only family in attendance was ourselves and her sister so I was so pleased we’d made the effort to go. I’d never been that close to my brother in the past but as we’ve got older we’ve grown closer together although we’ve not really anything much in common. Family ties though keep us in contact. It was interesting to see his apartment in Mexico City and how he lives his life there. It wouldn’t suit me but he seems happy and settled with lots of hobbies and interests, so I’m pleased for him. He’s still adjusting to being on his own and seemed a bit lost in thoughts at times but that’s to be expected. I think he’ll travel more now he doesn’t have to look after his wife, he’s got 3 daughters and grandchildren in various parts of the world so he may see a lot more of them!
Once again thank you for your kind messages, it means a lot x

Hello kitchen people.

OH is out at his shooting club so I am having a quiet evening apart from listening to a V&A lecture on Royal dress.

Our gardener came today and did a splendid job.

After lunch I visited friends while OH went to a U3A lecture on the Eden Project. A rather belated birthday bouquet of flowers and a box of chocolates arrived this afternoon from younger son - so I’ve been eating chocolates!

Glad all went well brook.🪻

Sleep 💤 tight tonight.

My ds has had unwelcome news after his latest scan and he begins another course of treatment tomorrow. He is still optimistic, though, so I am trying to do likewise.

TOYA. Xxx

sueD, sorry to hear about your DS, hopefully this new treatment will help.
fgt Hope your DH feels better tomorrow.
brook I’m pleased that the memorial service for your sister in law went well.
I met a friend at Hyde Hall for coffee this morning, it was grey and cold again, we were glad to be inside. We were both there last week (separately) and both commented that we were in t-shirts last week, but had our winter coats on today. We hadn’t met since October, although we’d spoken on the phone, it was good to meet up again.
This afternoon I saw my friend with dementia, she was very quiet today.
A domestic day tomorrow I think. I need to do some washing and ironing, also need to vacuum throughout.

Night night everyone.

Nannytopsy Tue 06-May-25 22:49:54

Church stuff this morning, WI committee meeting this afternoon and paperwork from both this evening. I haven’t done anything that I wanted to do today. I shall do my stuff tomorrow!

cornergran Tue 06-May-25 23:07:22
