Such a positive step grandmab. Love to you all.
I’m so very pleased for you both *

Redcar, he's just messaged me and his sister to say he'll meet us at the cemetery. A huge step forward.
I think it “gets” us all sometimes grannmarie. My DH died over four years ago, but on Friday, sitting outside a lovely pub in Suffolk in warm sunshine with all the family, I had a teary moment as some fighter jets from RAF Lakenheath went over us very low and noisily. DH loved air shows and he would have loved it! Fortunately I had sunglasses on so no one could see the tears! But the moment soon passed.
nannytopsy our local church needs roof repairs too, but those in charge can’t decide how to approach the fundraising needed. Sadly the congregation is dwindling and we are in an interregnum at the moment, so a bit rudderless. It’s possible the ancient building will be left to fall down, which would be a shame, but…..
grandmabatty I hope that DS attends the funeral and that contact in some form or other is maintained. I hope all goes well.
Thank you all for your virtual support and hugs. This online community can sustain people who need a bit of help. My son has reached out to me and his sister and met us yesterday, the first time in over three years. He's clearly quite unwell but I hope will make it to the funeral. If it's too much for him, then that's fine too. I'm off for a shower and to dress appropriately. Ttfn
Grandmabatty... Sending you lots of love and I hope you will be able to feel all the albeit virtual support of us all today. X
Thinking of everyone who is sad, poorly and in pain today. UTBB it sounds like you have planned your trip well. Now relax and enjoy yourself.
The longed for rain has arrived here in Suffolk overnight and we are forecast heavy rain all day. Why did I think it was a good idea to wash bed linen yesterday evening?
The first of the roofing contractors is visiting this morning to draw up a quote to replace the church roof, so I need to be there to let him in. I need to start raising about £250,000 to pay for it. Charitable funding available but it will take over my life I fear. Maybe it is time to let some of these many crumbling medieval buildings go? I can imagine the uproar if I said that!!
Enjoy your day inside out of the rain everyone.
Thank you, Cornergran. Hope you feel better tomorrow.
Thank you, Jaxjacky.
Hard to believe that Torben is 15! He was just a wee lad when I joined GN in 2011!
A late hi from me, it wasn’t our week again * Grannmarie*but I do so enjoy it. You are doing what you can, when you can, that’s as it should be, it will be like that for some time and if it’s do nothing occasionally, so be it. X
Sounds great Redcar, I'm pleased it went well, you’ve got this trip well sorted utbb excellent organisational skills, have a smashing visit.
As always, a pleasure to hear from Doodle, Blossoming and our benefactor soop, the quiet corner does its job.
My very best wishes for tomorrow Grandmabatty it’ll be an odd day for you 🥀
If you run 5k Yia can I have one please 🙂

Grandmabatty hope everything goes as planned tomorrow for you and your family. Take care x
Thank you, Grandmadinosaur, best wishes for your surgery on Thursday.
Thank you, FGT but I feel I'm just making it up as I go along. Sometimes I feel almost normal and other times it just hits me... I dreamt about DH last night and he was perfectly well!! Today was my first full day on my own, but I've had family and friends checking on me via phonecalls/ texts, I'm very thankful.

I think you are pretty amazing Granmarie how you are coping in your very early days with grief. You are an inspiration. I hope you have a happy Easter with your family at yours.x
Hello all from the quiet corner.
Sending love and strength tomorrow to Grandmabatty 💐
Love also to Grannmarie it’s early days but it seems wise to have plans 💐
Thoughts also to the Soops how nice to have family time to look forward to.
Also thoughts to Naughtyneine blossoming, Suedonim also any one I’ve missed.
I am having some surgery on Thursday and went for my pre assessment this afternoon. As usual my blood pressure was high - a case of white coat syndrome. I’m monitoring it at home and hoping the surgery can go ahead.
It’s turned so chilly here tonight I’ve fetched a jumper out. I thought I’d finished with them!
Thank you, Redcar. I'm glad you enjoyed your family break at center parks, you worked hard to build up your mobility after your surgery.
Hello 👋 YiaYia, I hope you and yours are all doing well.
I've just realised that I haven't had dinner... I'll go and raid the fridge!
Hello everyone. soop I hope your DH’s leg starts to heal properly soon. I’m told that the donor site is very painful, more than the site of the actual skin graft.
utbb I think it’s very brave of you to undertake such a long journey on the train on your own. Have a good time with your family.
I hope that grandmabatty’s mum’s funeral goes well tomorrow.
grannmarie be kind to yourself and don’t try to do too much.
I’ve just had a lovely weekend with my DDs and their families at Center Parcs in Elveden Forest. I was very well looked after and managed to walk around in far more comfort than I thought possible. I had expected to struggle on my walking sticks, but they loaded my rollator onto the bike rack of one of the cars, so I was able to get around easily. Sunny and warm weather was the icing on the cake for the weekend. Usually it’s grey and cold when we go there.
Now I’m home, feeling a bit flat, but planning to get out and about more!
Have a pleasant evening everyone.
Thinking of you tomorrow Grandmabatty sending love💐
Thank you, Doodle, crossed posts. Hope you're doing OK.
Good evening, Soop and lovely Kitchen people. Dear Soop, it's good to hear from you. Sounds like MrSoop is being well looked after. You'll both be looking forward to seeing the family next month, happy times.
Aww, Neine,
🙏, I hope your time in the garden helped. You are a wise woman to focus on St Paul's words, not easy but resentment just eats away at the bearer.
Glad to hear that you've been out and about in the sunshine, Blossoming. It's been much cooler and showery here today, not what I'd hoped for on bed changing day.
Brook, enjoy your DGC s sleepover, the joys of the school holidays!
Hello 👋 SueD, you're busy between your Mum and the wee one, remember to take care of yourself too! Such a long wait for your dear brother's funeral, so difficult for all the family. Thinking of you all.
I'm glad to hear that you've arrived safe and sound, UTBB, and are settling in to fresh, comfortable surroundings. Enjoy your family break!
Good luck for your quiz, Jaxjacky, one of these Mondays you'll be the winners!
Thinking of Grandmabatty and family, hoping and praying that her dear Mum's funeral tomorrow brings them some peace and comfort.
I am now in the period of 'after' DH's funeral. During the 'before' period, I kept wondering how I would manage when it was all over, so I began to think of small things to do to keep me occupied. I'll go and choose nice wool to knit for my sister's expected grandchild, I'll meet my other , newly retired, sister at the park for wee walks, ( knees permitting), I might even go to the pool and start my physio exercises again... my house is still full of floral tributes and cards, I'll choose a pretty memory box for my keepsakes. I'll need to clear the dining table of flowers and cards before family arrive for Easter ! I make lists then I forget to check them.. my concentration is poor at the moment. One day at a time...
TOYA, especially those with illness, worries or sorrow, and all in the quiet corner. Forgive me if I haven't mentioned you by name but I have read all your posts now and I'm thinking of you all, especially Grandmabatty for tomorrow.
Wishing everyone a peaceful Monday evening. 🥰
Lovely to hear from you Soop and Blossoming.Lots of healing thoughts coming your way.
Niene❤️
The sun has left us and it’s quite chilly today. We have been shopping this morning but a bit of a struggle for me.I’m feeling very achy but still,I’m getting my magic injection tomorrow and will soon be doing my 5K run again(in my dreams)🤣🤣
My football GS does 18K three times a week.!! A very fit 17 year old.
UTBB So pleased you could visit your family have a lovely time.
Soop i can’t believe Torben is 15. I remember pictures of him when he was little. He always was, and presumably still is, a handsome chap, I’m sorry about Mr Soops leg. I hope it heals soon. Love to you both.
Naughtyneine I’m sorry for all you’ve been through. Our children are so precious it must have caused you a lot of hurt.
I’m not often in the kitchen though I read more than I post.
Just saying hello to all the Kitcheners. Keep safe and well.
Grannmarie thinking of you 💐
Dearest NaughtyNeine. T have missed so many events in the kitchen over the last year due to my failing health. The event I most regretted missing was your wedding,
Your post today was a reminder to me to look for the post from last June. What a wonderful photo of you both, I love your outfit. You look beautiful and there is obviously a lot of love in your life. I think your decision regarding your daughters is very wise, xxx
