Being Scared Of Youths In Supermarkets?
soop has been in touch. She will not be on GN today, I think, as she is unwell. Please carry on your usual kind chatting. soop was saying yesterday what lovely people you all are.
It’s Tradescantia FGT and I have recently seen it referred to as Wandering Dude.
Not nearly so offensive.
‘Evening All’.
It’s just wonderful that you’re back with us Blossoming. Baby steps.
We’ve had a very restful and quiet day. I’ve been reading and Himself has been dipping into the Bahrain F1 lead up.
I ordered this plant on Amazon. ‘Wandering Jew’ (which doesn’t sound very PC 😮) I can’t remember its Latin name. Transcendia something or other. I see it a lot in Málaga and think it’s pretty. Plus it reminds me of being there and I’m hoping it’s low maintenance like me. When it arrives next week I will put it in a nice empty pot by our front door, in between the yellow rose I bought and the beautiful azalea which is massively budding now.
Just keep on keeping on Blossoming and hopefully you will gain your strength again.
I believe you have been very ill and “Rome wasn’t built in a day”
Good evening dear Kitcheners. I’m being a poor correspondent still as I am worn out by 4pm. I’m feeling pretty good just being home but my energy seems to have gone.
I’m thinking of you all even when I’m not contributing. MrB is cooking lasagne, it will be very tasty and I will be eating it sat on my bed bed using my over the bed table.
Have a lovely time utbb hopefully, even if wrapped up, you’ll get to the seaside
Good you got away Redcar I hope your granddaughter is recovering and you don’t catch it
Good morning everyone from another sunny start here in Stockport.
I am gathering strength to get a few things together to pack for a few days away at my D’s .
The weather is going to change of course after many glorious days but that is just Sod’s Law.
She lives in W Sussex and we had hoped for a couple of days at the coast but we shall see.
My opportunities for going away are getting fewer but I must act while I am still just about managing.
I spent yesterday with my friend in her lovely garden , it was very relaxing and we had a glass of ice cold sherry, with both of us approaching 88 we felt very naughty but if we can’t do it now we never shall.
I send my usual kind thoughts to the sad, the unwell and the carers, with the hope that life gets lighter for you soon.
Wow that’s a lot of honey! We have quite a few beekeeping friends here in Suffolk. They say it’s been so dry that they can’t take any honey yet.
Love to the soops and to Grannmarie
Hello kitchen people. A special hello to Soop. I hope you’re feeling a bit better. And the FGT2S - hopefully you won’t have to wait too long for the results.
OH and I spent all afternoon pouring honey into 80 jars and then labelling them. Hopefully the Car Boot sale on Sunday will be worthwhile.
Sleep 💤 tight,
Hi all, thank you soop I hope you’re feeling better.
What a beautiful day, 21, changing tomorrow, last of the tatty lavender plants out, bedding dried and back on our bed. I also filed various paperwork which had accrued, don't get a footstool with storage, it’s fatal!
My daughter rang earlier ‘say no if you can’t, but I’m having friends round for food and drinks, Imogen needs collecting from work at 11’. Dear kitcheners - I said no, Friday is a couple of glasses of wine night and we’re just in from the pub, looks like my son will do it.
I hope the scan went well for himself FGT
Memories for years ahead kitty
I hope you’ve had a lovely afternoon with the little one Sued, yes, it is a different stage of life for you and your Mum
So, greenhouse watered, glass of wine in hand while MrJ waters the garden, I wish you all a gentle evening 🥂
A big congratulations to your niece and family Llfl such lovely exciting times ahead x
So pleased you’ve got to Centreparcs redcar enjoy every minute! x
Grannmarie you’ve done so well, sending you gentle hugs, much love and support ❤️
grannmarie that sounds a very uplifting, but sad service.
fgt I think by now your DH will have had his scan and you have the long wait for the results.
Well we made it to Center Parcs and my lovely family managed to attach my rollator to the bike on the bike rack, so I can walk further and a bit faster than on walking sticks. I also feel safer with so many small children whizzing around on bikes! Unfortunately DGD2 seems to have picked up one of bugs that’s been afflicting her mum and baby sister, and is now in bed, bucket and towels at the ready! Hope she’ll be better tomorrow but will have to wait to be able to swim. As I’m in the same villa I’ll steer clear of her.
Have a peaceful evening everyone.
Right back at you soop! 😊
My love is winging it's way to all our Kitcheners. Extra special virtual hugs for all those with sadness and worries to contend with.
I meant to say thank you really for all of your heartfelt good wishes. (Then I got sidelined). 😮
When my sister died the house clearance was organised by my daughters and I wasn't given the chance to go and save anything from the home where I was born. I would have loved to have had my father's missal.
Oh Neine that’s heartbreaking, but how could your daughters stop you? I’d have turned up at my own ‘family home’ regardless and my two daughters could not, (would not have dared) tried to bar me entrance.
Cheeky besoms.
That said I don’t know what caused your family rift and estrangement so it’s none of my business - but I’m angry on your behalf reading what you’ve said.
Take it easy now granmarie, the fitting and thoughtful goodbye you arranged was full of warmth and kindness, please now try to direct some kindness to yourself. x
Thank you, everyone, I'm really touched by all the kindness, prayers and support here. Very comforting. 🥰
Family and faith Grannmarie softening the blow on the hardest day; may both support you still in the coming weeks and months x
I’m so pleased all all went well Granmarie. Sounds like a wonderful loving send off for your dear DH.Sending prayers and hugs to you and your family.🌹
I think you would find Messonghi has changed quite a bit Neine, but it’s still nice.Corfu is our second home.It was our base when we had our sailing boat and we just love it.Flights booked for mid May so counting the days.DH has been referred to the respiratory team yet another dept but good they will look after him for COPD.
I will have fingers and toes crossed for you both today FGT.I know it will be a long day!I hope you don’t wait to0 long for results.🤞🤞🙏
Sending lots of love to the Soops.hope things improve for you both.
Thinking of you all.
FGT... Wishing you both good news today.
Redcar... Safe travels today... Have a wonderful time...be careful on the flumes🤣!!!!!! I hope all tummies are settled now too.
Grannmarie... That sounds just perfect and comforting in equal measure.....for you all. May be rest in peace.
Kitty...I suspect you might be treated to a close up show of what was performed in Paris when they visit this weekend.
GrandmaB......It may be a blessing in disguise that your op was postponed...l though I don't suppose it feels like it but at least now you can attend the funeral without worrying about bending or blurriness affecting you. Hopefully it will only be delayed a couple of weeks.
SueD...a difficult time for you just now. When my sister died the house clearance was organised by my daughters and I wasn't given the chance to go and save anything from the home where I was born. I would have loved to have had my father's missal. At the time I like you was saddened that a lifetime of living was just removed and well I don't know what house clearers do but have a good idea. In the end I decided not to dwell on it but to just keep the memories close by instead. I will be thinking of you and your DH in two weeks time as well.
Yia....have a fabulous time in Corfu... We stayed in Messonghi over 30 years ago...to get to the little village you had to walk to the river and just wait on the banks and someone would appear almost from no where and row us all across...it didn't matter what time of day it was and sometimes it would be an elderly granny and then other times a young lad. I think it cost us about 20p each time. Enjoy your time away with your DH.
It looks as if a trip to Spain might be on the cards...a friend is having her 60th birthday celebrations somewhere south of Málaga... Hopefully my two best girl friends are coming too and that will be my hen celebrations too..... Because I really don't think at 70 that I need to be parading around in a white tutu with a veil and a sash saying Bride to be....DH husband says I can ditch the veil and sash but he would like to see the tutu...😱 He got a look then we both collapsed laughing. I don't think they make tutus that big do they?
Love to everyone in the quiet corner. Xx
Grannmarie what a lovely service you describe. Your family all around you supporting you. Your will be very tired now so be kind to yourself and rest when you need to. Thinking of you 💕
FGT wishing you and your DH good luck this afternoon and hope all is well with the scan.
Dear Soops, Mr and Mrs you are going through such a difficult time. Sorry you are in such pain Soop . I hope and pray it eases soon. Much love xx
Sending you love and positive thoughts for today, FGT.
Your day sounds as though it was a lovely, if very sad, occasion, Grannmarie. I hope you are OK today.
Batty, I hope you get another date soon. You must be so frustrated.
DGD2 &3 are now home from an exciting time dancing in the Disney Parade in Paris. I hope they are not too disappointed when they get here tomorrow and there is no razzmatazz.
You’ve been incredibly brave, Granmarie, I salute you.
I’ll be thinking of you tomorrow, FGT.
Dh gets his latest results in two weeks.
I hope another date comes up soon, GMbatty.
Congratulations, LLFL!
We had another glorious day, weatherwise, today. I’m trying to make the most of it as we’ll be back to 11deg and rain next week. 😫
Over the last two days I’ve been sorting out my mother’s house. I’ve been through everything now, boxed up what will be kept and the house clearance people have been booked. It’s very sad to see a life reduced to so very little. Fortunately, my mother doesn’t really seem to understand what’s happening, which is a blessing, I think.
Tomorrow we’ll have the wee one in the afternoon. He’ll no doubt make us chuckle, he’s such a happy little lad.
