soop has been in touch. She will not be on GN today, I think, as she is unwell. Please carry on your usual kind chatting. soop was saying yesterday what lovely people you all are.

FGT2 All good wishes to your dear man. Both of you deserve solid gold medals for your stalwart patience and tenacity. Like hula mentioned, the stent may well be a positive aid.

Dear SueD, healing love from me to you and your dear husband.

Usedtobeblonde Bless you. May your difficult family issues find a way of resolving themselves.

All poorly Kitcheners need the gentlest of group hugs. Shall we do it in the calm and beautiful woodland garden that corner has kindly shared with us?

We've just got back from a few days with friends whose various mobility problems make us feel young and agile!! The weather was glorious.

I've just had a quick browse to catch up and send my love and thoughts to everyone with health and other problems in the hope that things will improve for all of you.

I’m wishing you lots of luck GG13 I'm so glad our grandchildren are older!
Go team! kitty we’ll be watching Finley in the Tyro Challenge plate U12 final tomorrow afternoon, his team have already won their league.
Yes I am brook 5’ 11, a great advantage at certain points of my life, I tore a ligament in my lower back about 20 years ago, it makes itself known very occasionally.

GrannyGravy13 Sat 17-May-25 08:42:06

Haven’t read the thread yet, will catch up later.

Our GD will be 8 this half term, she is a very girly girl. When I asked her what she would like for her birthday she said clothes for her holiday (she has a wardrobe jam packed with clothes 😹)

So as I am a well trained an obedient granny I am taking her to Lakeside shopping and for lunch today, wish me luck…

brook2704 Sat 17-May-25 08:28:07

Good Luck to Bertie and his team kitty!

kittylester Sat 17-May-25 08:00:34

Just to say that our important cup final isn't the Wembley one - it's much more important! Bertie's team have played brilliantly this season and are in the YEL U13 cup final. grin

kittylester Sat 17-May-25 07:49:59

Morning, a quick pop in from me as we are in the midst of a dgc fest (why does everything happen at once?)

Just to say that I am thinking of fgt;and himself. And, of course, everyone else with hurdles to overcome.

Back for a proper catch-up after a very important Cup Final this afternoon.

Just catching up on all the kitchen news now after another busy day, we were out at DD2s this evening too so I’m ready for a rest tomorrow.

Firstly just to thank FGT for her update and to wish her DH the very best possible outcome for his ongoing treatment

Your massage sounds just the right thing grannmarie pleased it seems to be helping. A wee break with the family in St Andrews sounds good, it’s understandable wanting to stay close to home but I hope a change of scenery and time with the family helps a bit, take care and look after yourself x

It was really busy in town earlier, there was a cruise ship in so coach loads of happy travellers were roaming around. The touristy shops were doing good business with their highland cow tea towels and Nessie mugs. Then there was a few walking tours with a trail of people following behind looking a bit bored. Quite a few locals out and about in T-shirts and shorts and most tourists still with bobble hats and coats 🤣
I’ve a bit of a dry throat and blocked nose but don’t know if it’s hay fever or a cold - don’t know how you can tell 🤷‍♀️

Good to hear you’re not overdoing things grandmabatty although it must be frustrating, hopefully back to normal soon ?

Good to have an exercise target to work to Jax well done. Are you tall because you do lots of stretch classes ? I’ll have to try it ..

Enjoy your gardening day tomorrow corner and hopefully you too redcar, I’ll join you if I can

SueD 💐

Apologies to those I’ve not mentioned by name, I do read all the interesting posts and try to keep up

Grannmarie Fri 16-May-25 22:19:13

Great news, Blossoming. 🥰
Take care, Grandmabatty!
Sorry about your sofa, brook.

Hoping and praying for the best possible outcomes for the Soops, FGTs and SueD and DH.
Thinking of all with worries, illness or sorrow, and all in the quiet corner. 💕🙏

I'm beginning to feel the benefits of my massage today, still haven't driven since Easter Sunday. My brother and sister in law have kindly invited me for a wee break with them at their caravan in St Andrew's. Family think it's a good idea, so I'll get myself organised. I've stayed pretty much close to home since DH's funeral, not like me, I was usually out and about regularly.

Wishing everyone a peaceful Friday evening. Please forgive me if I haven't mentioned you by name but I have read all your posts now and I am thinking of you all. TOYA, NNGB.

GrannyGravy13 Fri 16-May-25 21:23:26

Will try to catch up, in the meantime (((hugs))) and night night 🙋‍♀️

cornergran Fri 16-May-25 20:37:27

That’s such good news blossoming. You must be mightily relieved.

I’m pleased to hear it grandmab. It won’t be for long. Always happy to nag grin.

Super weather today, not too hot and no chilly wind. We plan a garden sorting day tomorrow, looking forward to it.

Have a good evening and a peaceful night everyone.

Scapa1 Fri 16-May-25 20:32:52

Thoughts are with FGT2 and her DH. Fingers crossed for a good outcome.

Redcar Fri 16-May-25 20:01:50

Good news blossoming, that must have been a relief for you.

grandmabatty well done for having a quiet day, keep it up!

yiayia we could certainly do with a thunderstorm and rain here but it looks dry until the Bank Holiday weekend and half term week, when we’ll probably have lots of the wet stuff!

DD2 and littlest came over this morning and she did a few little tasks for me that I can’t do for myself (frustratingly). Then we went out for a coffee and sat in the sun for a while. Unfortunately my back didn’t like the bench I was sitting on and has been aching ever since. I hope it will be better tomorrow because I need to do some gardening.
Night night everyone.

brook2704 Fri 16-May-25 19:44:19

Great news Blossoming so pleased for you ❤️

GrandmaC47 Fri 16-May-25 19:24:21

Photo I hope

GrandmaC47 Fri 16-May-25 19:22:03

Great news Blossoming, so please for you.

We had a lovely afternoon with dear sister and b-in-law in Lytham. A walk followed by coffee and cake in the Lowther Gardens and a drive to St Anne’s and look at the hotel Dh and DD1 stayed in 50 years ago.
(*Blossoming * I also saw the Marina and where the trains run)
Photo across the estuary towards Southport.

Jaxjacky Fri 16-May-25 19:04:55

Marvellous news Blossoming
We could do with a storm here Yia nothing in sight I’m afraid.
Another glorious day, watered this evening, gave away six tomato plants in our pub earlier, I don’t like wasted plants
My stretch class this morning didn’t niggle my back which I was pleased with and I felt better for doing it, our class leader mentioned 6 exercises to do every day, my target now.
I hope those facing mountains have had a reasonable day, there’s a lot of heartache for some kitcheners right now, they are in my thoughts. xx

Grandmabatty Fri 16-May-25 18:19:17

Blossoming that's good to hear. You must feel relieved.

Blossoming Fri 16-May-25 18:13:44

Good evening dear Kitcheners, just popping in to say my kidney ultrasound results were good. I have known I have CKD for years, after the events leading up to my recent spell in hospital there was a concern that my kidneys would have been severely damaged. They haven’t, no need for any further treatment, just carry on with drinking lots of water and keeping an eye on BP. Then usual monitoring via annual blood tests. I’m tougher than I look grin

Love to you all ♥️

luluaugust Fri 16-May-25 17:49:04

Just popping in to send love to the FGTs

Grandmabatty Fri 16-May-25 16:37:57

I'm wishingFGT and her dear man all the best and will be thinking of them. Yiayia the worst storm I experienced was in Corfu. We sat on the balcony and watched it over Albania as it came closer. Very scary stuff. Cornergran I have been very good (and bored) today. I have done nothing except wash a few dishes. Lots of reading and tv watching. Curry for dinner tonight. Enjoy your evening Kitcheners

spottybook Fri 16-May-25 15:10:34

Just creeping out of the quiet corner to let FGT know that I am thinking of you and Himself also SueD DH.

Yiayia4 Fri 16-May-25 14:39:48

So sorry to hear of such struggles for many of you.
Lots of love to the Soops💐

Thinking of you and DH SueD 💐

UTBB It’s good to hear from you but sorry you’ve not been well.🌻

Hoping the treatment will work quickly and life will go on as before FGT 🤞🙏

We have had a massive storm here.Overnight was a force 8,very pleased our yachting days are over!
My friend Eleni lives further up the hill and looks after many cats. They seem to know when I’m here and two very wet corfu cats were on the door step this morning.🤣

Thinking of you all.
