Oh please. At least twice a day.
My theory is that 60+ there is so much information on the hard drive(our brains) that some of it is trying to drop off........
Aging infuriates me.
I need another fifty years.
I've got twenty . Max.

I had four things to do in town today. Did three of them, but could I remember the fourth? Course not! 🙄 It was only when I was actually walking past Superdrug that I remembered that that’s where I should be going!

I do that all the time Aldom. I pop into Waitrose for bread and milk but leave with everything but.

Oh yes, Kitty the supermarket!
I sometimes walk in, then think what did I come for? The other thing I occasionally do is go for one specific item, buy several more items, arrive home without the item I really needed. That's frustrating!

I get that when I go to the supermarket for just a few bits. Relieved to know that I'm 'normal'.

I know what I'm looking for but go in the wrong space - "why isn't the milk in here? - oh I'm looking in the larder instead of the fridge" "Where is the holder for this toilet roll? Oh its in the loo & this is the stairs cupboard"

I’ve spent recent days trying to pack up my house in preparation for downsizing in a few weeks. I made good progress yesterday and filled 5 boxes from the various cupboards and labelled them with a list of contents and which room they’ve to be deposited by the removal men.

Today is a different story. 3 times over I’ve sealed boxes with my super duper parcel tape gun but 2 mins later when I’m about to write the label to stick on them I can’t remember what’s in the bl***y boxes and I’ve had to open them to check 😡

Is it worse if you don't remember that you went in a room to fetch something?
"Why did I come in here?"

NanTheWiser Mon 31-Mar-25 22:07:52

Mine is the fridge! What did I want from the fridge?!

This makes sense because if I have gone upstairs for some thing, then find I've forgotten what I went for, going downstairs, into the room I left almost always restores the memory.

…and now they have magically appeared without my having done anything!

Squiffy Mon 31-Mar-25 14:06:26

Oh! That was a waste of time then! 🙄 Images not working again…

This is in the DM today and might comfort those of us who do this regularly!
