Good morning everyone from a sunny but chilly mid Essex.
I slept well last night, so am a bit later this morning. A good day yesterday, I went for a walk in the morning, then vacuumed the stairs, landing and bedrooms. I had ,my annual medication review, and didn’t have to argue my case to continue some of my expensive medications. So I’m ok for the next year, which is good. I then walked to the pharmacy in the hopes of collecting some tablets that I’d run out of. They’ve been ordered so hoe to collect them this afternoon or tomorrow.
I need to get some flowers for a friend’s birthday today, then will drop them off to her, along with a card.
This afternoon I’ll visit my friend with dementia.
grandmabatty I’m so sorry to hear about your mum. My condolences to you and your family.
Have the best day possible everyone.

Good morning from sunny south Glos, another beautiful day ahead!
We enjoyed a ramble across fields, up and down hills and through woods with ransom and bluebells slowly emerging, a very pleasant walk yesterday. It’s so good to be outside in sunshine.
Today I have the BT engineer sorting out our upgraded broadband first thing plus a grocery shop and the dog walker all between 8 and 9, it’ll be a bit chaotic! Then it’s housework, washing and a bit of gardening I think. Tiddler and I will walk a bit later when things calm down a tad.
Sending you hugs and my condolences Grandmabatty
🌹
Good morning from a sunny Black Country.
So very sorry to hear your very sad news Grandmabatty sincere condolences
Busy day yesterday. Five mile walk, then Line Dancing in afternoon. Then home to tidy drive and weed Block Paving.
Could go on a walk today, but feel garden needs attention.
Wishing you all a very sunny day
Good morning from sunny South Lanarkshire.
I’m sorry to hear your sad news Grandmabatty, my sincere condolences. 💐
I hope your DGD feels much more comfortable Sar, my best wishes to her.
Charity shop today then yarn group this evening. I seem to have ground to a halt with my crochet flowers for our springtime yarnbomb. Must get my mojo back.
Wishing everyone the best day possible.
Good morning everybody from Málaga where it’s not quite so sunny. I’ve been told rain is on its way back from Thursday. Glad we’re going home tomorrow then! My stepfather says Manchester is set to be sunny this weekend. 😁
I’ve got LWW this afternoon in Arroyo. My friend from Bolton is here too so we will walk up together at 1pm. (Her husband had open heart surgery this time last year in Wythenshawe Sallyforth). I shall wear a dress but with a denim jacket.
I’ve made an appointment at the hair salon below for a wash and blow at noon - always a nice holiday treat. Himself will stay home as we have a new washing machine being delivered today. The present one leaked water on Saturday and I was swabbing the decks with a mop! Good job we have a tiled floor.
😮
Arthritis has settled in my left wrist and kept me awake for much of the night and can see that getting dressed will be a major achievement this morning. Am absolutely fed up!
Sympathy to Grandmabatty at this sad time and hope this promised lovely spring weather brings joy.
Good morning all from a sunny Black country.
Sending condolences to you and your family Grandmabatty💐.
karmalady cashew and celery soup sounds nice it's one I will have to consider.
Shall find some jobs in the garden make the most of the nice weather.
FGT enjoy your last day and as its Tuesday LWW 🥂.
Have the best day possible everyone ☀️.
Oh Grandmabatty I’ve only just started to read the thread.
So sorry to hear of your mum’s death. I know you’d said she was hardly eating these past few weeks - just chocolate and water, but to get that phone call will still have been a shock I expect. Losing our mums just seems so final I think. Typical of your brother to have his phone switched off. You did right telling staff to call you instead of him last week.
I'm so sorry Grandmabatty. Such a shock for you. 🙏💐🫂
Good morning from N. Bucks where at the moment it is dry but overcast.
GBatty , sorry to hear your sad news.
.
This morning I must sort out a cupboard that I know has a few things that can go to the dump as DH has an appointment to take some other stuff this afternoon.
I am going to a talk about medicinal plants with some other ladies from WI .This evening is Flower club where we are looking forward to a demo by a popular arranger.
Wishing all a good day with a smile along the way,
Good morning all . It’s sunny and very still here in Essex.
Sorry sorry to hear your news Grandmabatty. 💐🙏.
Lunch with my two brothers was lovely . The food was ‘ok’ .
Not very hot and small portions.
Today I’ll walk little pooch over the fields and this afternoon I’ll be picked up for Bridge Club as Dh has a dental appointment and needs the car.
Enjoy the day .🌷
Having seen so many posts already I skippped through and realised why. I too add my condolences Grandmabatty on the sad loss of your dear mother. I hope you have support and help to deal with your own grief and all the admin work.
A day of reading for me in preparation of an all day meeting tomorrow. Best wishes to all.
Sar sorry to hear your DGD is so poorly. Hopefully she’ll get more help from the hospital .🙏
Good morning Mick and everybody from sunny Carlisle.
Very sad news for you this morning Grandmabatty. I guess you expected it but it's still a shock to finally lose your Mum. My condolences and I hope you get support from your family.
As for me, just another busy morning with chores, then I can't wait to get out in the garden and do some planting....and hopefully sit out with coffee and a book.
And Sar best wishes for your DGD. What a horrible and worrying complaint that is.
Good morning everyone.
Grandmabatty sending you (((hugs))) and my condolences 💐you will have a lot to do in the coming weeks, I hope you can take comfort from your memories of your dear mum.
Sar53 wishing your DGD a speedy recovery and that the hospital can get her asthma medication sorted soon 😘
Morning all from West Oxfordshire.
I only woke up at 8 am!
Condolences G Batty. 🌹
It is the WI coffee morning today, which is usually a hoot. One or two of the ladies tell the most scurrilous stories.
After lunch I will be popping round to see friends. OH will be waiting in for the plumber.
Pinch punch, it’s the first of the month. White rabbits 🐇
Adding my best wishes too for Sar53 with her granddaughter such a worrying time and thinking also of Sallyforth who is anxious about her sister’s big operation scheduled for Thursday.
Good morning all from Glasgow, where it is a partly sunny 8°C.
My dear fellow Glasgow Gran, Grandmabatty, I am so sorry to hear your sad news. I know you will be feeling mixed emotions, as you had a similar relationship with your mum, as I had. I hope your brother is supportive. Our circumstances were very similar. 💐
Today, I am off to the opticians, I have developed a painful sore on the bridge of my nose, caused by my new spectacles. This will be the second time, I have been back with them.
I also treated myself to another pair, leopard print, just call me Bett Lynch , using the money saved for a holiday, I am never well enough to go on.
They are ready to be picked up.
I am still trying to source a key for the church safe, so that is another task. One shop wanted to charge £51 to order the key, which is no bigger than a door key! 😱
Yesterday, I felt so unwell and seemed to have picked up a tummy bug on top of everything else. However, I forced myself into the garden for an hour, where I just pottered in the sunshine. Sitting in my gazebo, is my happy place. Not quite Malaga, FGT. 😉
If I feel OK, when we are out (DH has offered to come with me, despite the fact he loathes going to Paisley) He asked me to drive, which is a rare occurrence. He finds trying to park quite stressful. But I know all the secret spots!
I will treat him to a fish tea in his favourite chippie! Because, I can't each much, I haven't been cooking our usual meals and his diet has become quite bland!
Prayers for Sallyforth, her sister and family and anyone else, with worries and illness.
A mention too for another Glasgow Gran, Grannarie, who has lost her DH.🙏
Have a good day folks.
Good morning everyone from a beautifully sunny Angus coast! After tai chi I intend to have a 'do nothing' day because I am still exhausted after my wonderful weekend with DD and the DGDs. There's life in this old dog yet, but I do need recovery time 😉😄
Enjoy your day in the sun 🌞
Good morning everyone from sunny Wiltshire.
So very sorry to hear about your Mother Grandmabatty I will be thinking king of you.
I hope your GD has her asthma under control asap Sar53.
After school pickup yesterday we played junior scrabble with DGD3 and then she did a jigsaw. 2 sets of temporary traffic lights meant a 20 minute drive to get to school just in time. It takes 8 minutes in minimal traffic.
Have a good everyone.
Morning from a sunny S Hants.
I’m so very sorry to hear Grandmabatty , my condolences 🥀
I hope your granddaughter improves Sar at last in the best place.
MrJ is still poorly, no solid food staying it at all, day four, he did speak to a GP yesterday, he’s drinking so hydrated.
Voluntary phone quiet yesterday, I didn’t go to quiz.
Not sure about today, I won’t stray far
🦩🦩
Good morning from a dry and sunny NE.
Dental check up at lunchtime and then some shopping with my sister and BIL. Last time I will see them for a while as they are off to visit family.
Sorry to hear the sad news Grandmabatty, I hope you have support at this difficult time.
Have the best day you can.
Good morning Mike and all GN's from a sunny still morning here in North Yorkshire. White rabbits white rabbits white rabbits. Should have said that first!! Definitely 1st April here!! Had a horrible night and including rotten cramp for quite a while. Awake for a very long time then fell asleep and woke up late and very seized up, so taken me this long to get showered and up and dressed.
No one here to do any tricks though. When we were little children we thought it was great fun to have boiled eggs, and eat ours before my father came in the dining room and swap his egg for one turned upside down and empty.Ah such simple little things would not bring a smile these days!
As it is bright and sunny, I am going to go out in the car somewhere. The way I feel right now there is no chance to do a lot of sorting things out, or stand up baking, so I think I might go down to Thirsk for coffee and to see the latest efforts of the Yarnbombers. They are an amazing group who make fantastic knitted things that go on the top of bollards etc. They have themed things so a marvellous set for the coronation of Charles, where they ranged from a beefeater, a soldier and even the carriage and a crown etc. Wonderfully clever and are definitely a draw to go there and it intrigues the children too. You think that this must be the best set and then they come up with yet another idea.
So it is going to be a morning off and hopefully I shall improve this afternoon, and if the weather stays good I hope to do some hand washing and go through the bank statement with a fine tooth comb and hope to find something that doesnt need to be paid anymore (shant hold my breath!) and check that everything is up to date, as I have changed my energy supplier and want to check that everything is in order. Also need to get the oil change for the car sorted. Very mundane today.
Grandmabatty , Very sorry to hear of your loss. You did everything you could for her and I hope that will come to be a comfort to you.
GrandMattie, Good news about your eyes and hope you will find your new glasses comfortable.
My condolences,Grandmabatty for the loss of your Mum.
