As I work long and exhausting day and night shifts 6 days/nights a week, as much as I love my job I do get stressy at times but I've found a way to ease it!

Our local discount shop in the kids section they sell packs of 3 bubble bottles for only £1.45!

The last stressy night shift I did, on a break in the staff room I put the dipper in the bottle and started blowing bubbles!

Now a lot of my work colleagues, even our boss has started doing it!

I'll be 60 in a few days but it's boring being an adult all the time so ''I'm Forever Blowing Bubbles ....!''

Interesting - one suggestion for relaxing before taking blood pressure readings is to breathe in for a slow count of, say 4 or 5 (or more), hold for the same length and then breathe out for the same count through the mouth -just like blowing bubbles. Maybe Ibubbles is what I need for my BP monitoring!

Need to get the bubble machine out of the shed since you've mentioned it. Also have a bat type thing for creating huge sized bubbles. And I have my GD staying with me, great excuse to play though would like a tiny bit of a breeze to blow the bubbles about. Off to the shed, dinner can wait.

My nephew gave them out at his wedding they were on the tables with other wedding favours. Some of there wedding pictures have guests blowing the bubbles.

I remember our small grandson getting bubble bath for Christmas one year. He used it all for blowing bubbles. Said it was by far the best use for bubble bath!

I imagine blowing bubbles is good for your lungs - well that’s my excuse! ( we used to reward our disabled son for trying to speak with blowing bubbles when he was younger)

Lovely idea, on my list, thank you

Loved bubbles as a child. Had to use them outside as they marked the furniture. My kids loved them and our cats used to swipe at them. Enjoy yourself - I think that is brilliant!

It’s so windy today I’d have to wear goggles and a shower cap.🫧🫧💨

Oh dear, I fear my AC would be calling the little men in white coats if I started doing that….

Oh, come on, maw! they aren't that po-faced, surely? 🫧🫧🫧

No,but perhaps I am

I had forgotten how much I loved blowing bubbles. I will be looking out for some and will be blowing bubbles again in the garden. The neighbours think I am barmy already so this will confirm it. smile

We love them, but outdoors only.

My grandchildren never tire of bubbles and neither do I.

Recently, clearing out a cupboard I came across two tubs of Bubbles, leftovers from when my grandchildren were younger.
I decided to give them to the little girls nextdoor to me. But I thought I would give the Bubble mix a test run, just to be sure it still worked.
I was ,once more fascinated by the beautiful bubbles . They really are calming.
Yes, I did give them to the little girls. Their daddy sent me a message saying thank you and 'the girls are very excited'.

I love blowing bubbles, and I’m a young 77! Have fun!

I like the super-enormpus ones - that unfortunately need me to make a bubble mix up and find the "wands"...
Also they are best in slightly "damp" weather - or dusk/evening....

AGAA4 that sounds like enormous fun!

Definitely stress relievers! I do it in my car too, blowing them out of the windows!

TheWeirdoAgain1 Sat 05-Apr-25 11:36:19

midgey....go for them! What great fun they'd be!

AGAA4 Sat 05-Apr-25 10:56:03

I used to play with my GCs with bubbles. We used to run around trying to burst them and have a lot of fun. I can see how they could help with relieving stress.

Hmmm, I saw some bubble guns in TKMaxx…..I was tempted! Now I wish I had bought them.
