Hearing aids - Again

I had to buy privately because the NHS ones here are not rechargeable, and I could not cope with the fiddly battery as I am partially sighted. My present aids worked a treat for a few days, but no longer. They are under the 90-day trial with Boots, and I am certain my money would be returned if necessary.

Ok, good to hear the positives here. I've always thought that NHS aids which I have currently were as good as the private ones but tbh there are times I feel my aids don't work as they should and I'm not sure why this happens. I'm thinking of giving private aids a try under the offer of money back guarantee if I'm not happy with them so the only way really to prove that NHS are the same or not as private is to give private ones a go. I've had NHS hearing aids from Scrivens since October 2023.

In February I had a private pair of in-ear hearing aids from them on a 60 day trial, with a guaranteed full refund if I wasn't happy with them for any reason.
After a few weeks I decided I either didn't like the extra features they offered or (for me) they weren't worth having.

I returned them ten days ago, had my deposit refunded on the spot to my credit card and the first direct debit payment has been refunded to my bank account today.

I'm happy with my NHS ones. I have a simple Bluetooth app on my phone to adjust the settings and they suit me 🙂

DH did at Specsavers. Got a full refund. Decided they didn’t work any better than the NHS ones they supplied him with when he bought the private ones.

I was lucky. I bought a (very expensive) pair with an offer of £2,000 off if you left your old ones with them, and the option to return the new ones and get your old ones back if they were not as promised. I didn't have to do so I'm glad to say, but I have no doubt they'd have been true to their word.

Yep, DH last week. He did buy some more.

I returned an in the ear hearing aid to "Boots" after nearly 2 months. I explained the reason I was returning the aid, and received a full refund in 2 days.
