Good morning all from sunny Lancashire.

Another beautiful day here but I still can’t go out. I may try to sit in the garden in my wheelchair for a little while,

Have a good day 🌹

Morning all from West Oxfordshire.

I have to get up soon as I’m off to London. I’m meeting younger son for lunch before going to the Edwardians exhibition at the King’s Gallery at Buckingham Palace.

Have a good day.

Good morning from a sunny NE.
Had lovely lunch out with friend yesterday, not a boozy lunch as she was driving.
Rest of the day was a lazy one, I kept nodding off in front of the TV.
Today GD1 is returning from university and coming to visit with her Dad and sister. Next week they are off to visit other GPs who live in a beautiful Oxfordshire village.
Have a good weekend.

Blimey Maw that’s some post! Why on earth you think you have ‘nothing much to contribute’ some days when a post like today’s knocks mine into a cocked hat makes me chuckle! All this sounds FABULOUS 😁
Enjoy your day!

Good morning all from a sunny Glasgow, but it is only 0°C.

I have summer house envy Pants. DS' is painted purple and has a bar and TV in it!

Lots of fun days for posters yesterday. I enjoy reading about what others are doing.

Unfortunately, yesterday I had to abandon my trip, half way round Silverburn, when I began to feel very unwell with side effects from my Covid booster.
I spent the day either sleeping or being violently sick. I expected to feel rough, but this floored me!
Another day lost from my life. I had so much to do in preparation for today. 😪

Today is Babydoll's second birthday and we are having a garden party along with DIL's family. Dollie is beyond excited because DIL' niece is the same age and they have become good friends.
A bouncy castle has been hired, I am seriously tempted to have a go, silly old fool that I am. As long as I do a risk assessment, I should be OK! 😉
Still feeling decidedly ropey, but I wouldn't miss it for the world.
Apparently she spent most of her nursery day out in the sea yesterday, it must have been baltic! ❄🥶

I wish you all a pleasant day. I am heartened to seeBlossoming back on GN and hope you continue to make progress.

I agree FGT. Sounds fabulous.

Pleased you have come back to the GM thread Maw.

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders where it's sunny 🌞.

I'm working indoors this morning doing a shift in the open doors café.
I baked a cake yesterday.

This afternoon the DGD are being brought to mine to spend some time.

We may make something for Easter for their DP who are enjoying their rowing boat on a northern Loch.

My Helpers dug over my veg plot yesterday and were surprised that I am not ready to plant things out yet.
Scotland and Australia have rather different climates.

Well done Iris gMattie. Shes such a spirited girl. like her DG?
You should be able to keep your old phone number. I managed to keep mine despite changing my phone and server, with
difficulty, online.

The deer are at my flower beds again. They only leave daffodils. 🙄

Hope everyone has some joy today.

Liberty Sat 12-Apr-25 08:08:47

Good morning from another beautiful sunny day in Suffolk. It is youngest DGD’s 8th birthday today and she has asked for a Harry Potter cake after several years of the Harriet Hedgehog one . This has been a favourite in the family for the last 20 years plus and came from a Cadbury’s chocolate cook book. The end of an era for family cake baking!

We have no plans other than the usual dog walk and Waitrose delivery this afternoon. The house seems very quiet after the Bristol lot left yesterday but a peaceful day will be just what we need to recharge our batteries.

Hope all have the best day possible.

Good morning from a misty W Kent. A trip out to buy some meat for next weekend when I have the family coming over. Hoping to sit in the garden this afternoon
Sorry you are suffering such horrible affects from the jab Marydoll
Best wishes

Good morning from a another sunny Black Country.

A lovely day yesterday with my friend in Bewdley. A coffee by the river, then a walk along there. Then lunch and a mooch around the shops.

Then in the evening to the local town hall to see Blithe Spirit, which we both found very hard to hear the dialogue and we were on the 4th row. Other people in the interval said the same. We got the gist of it though smile

No real plans today.

Wishing you all the best day possible.

GrannyGravy13 Sat 12-Apr-25 08:14:47

Beautiful bright start to the day, local shop to be endured 🤪

Nothing much planned, so will see what happens…

Maw London City Airport is good, small and easy to negotiate, brilliant views on take off and landing, enjoy your trip.

Good morning everyone from a very bright and sunny 🌞Northampton, another.beautiful day ahead. Shall not see much of it as I finish packing for my cruise!

Managed to get most of it done yesterday, but I am thinking of. re-organising the suitcases, which hopefully won't take too long.

The whole family descended on me yesterday evening - they had decided.to give me an early birthday/pre-cruise send off. A glass or two of fizz was consumed, then the boys went to get fish and chips from the village.
Then I was surprised by a beautiful cake, luckily not with 80 candles! I should have taken a photo of it, before most of it was consumed!
I also have a present and cards to open on my cruise.
Everyone left rather late (after another glass or two of wine) and I am afraid I fell asleep in the armchair...
It was a truly lovely.evening and I felt truly blessed to have my family around me. Of course the only person missing was my darling DH.....

Off out tonight to the 60th birthday party of an ex-neighbour - must remember to wrap her present. Don't want to be too late as it's cruise day tomorrow!

Lovely beach house Pantglas - we had one put up in our garden and I had visions of doing similar, but shortly afterwards DH died and I lost heart and interest in it. I did manage to get the outside painted, and now I just use it to store garden furniture.

Enjoy the lovely weather today everyone - make the most of it.

Taichinan Sat 12-Apr-25 08:24:15

Good morning Mick and all. It's a glorious morning here for tai chi on the beach - the tide is out, the sky is blue, the sun shining and there's only a hint of breeze. What more could a body ask for!
I also had lovely time yesterday evening in Perth for an early dinner with DD & Co and managed to get home before dark. Well, only just - it was hard to drag myself away at 7.30 in order to get home by 9pm. I felt a bit like Cinderella leaving the ball!
No time so far to read the thread so I'll just wish the poorlies continued improvement and everyone the best day x

ginny Sat 12-Apr-25 08:24:46

Good morning, as Maw says, bright blue and sunny here. Glad you are feeling better today Maw I too often think you do some very interesting things.
A quick local shop this morning and then we will pick up MIL and ring her over for dinner. We’ll also take her for a quick visit to DD2 and her new house.

Wishing all a good day with a smile along the way.

BlueSapphire Sat 12-Apr-25 08:28:41

The remains of my birthday cake!

grandMattie Sat 12-Apr-25 08:39:07

Just a thought gM.
Did you not request a PAC number from your previous network? That’s the way to port your number from supplier to supplier. I’m about to do it myself after nearly 30 years with Orange/EE and move to Tesco.

Oh, we did all that. Used two different servers’ PAG SIM cards…
After over an hour’s struggle, she gave up. I could never in a million years even understood what was required. I have a feeling I shall be keeping the new number, so much easier.

Gingster Sat 12-Apr-25 08:39:36

Good morning all ☀️.

A nice weekend forecast before the weather turns again.

I e mailed our neighbour who is having a huge brick built garden room erected right next to our fence. We have a tiny garden and the noise of work, mens loud voices and continual radio music means we haven’t been able to sit out in this lovely weather.
It was supposed to last for three weeks and we are now into over two months. We can’t even sit in the conservatory.

With dh being poorly it has been very upsetting and unreasonable.
I received a lengthy e mail back with many apologies and assuring us that they have spoken to the builders so hopefully it will improve. Still a lot of work to be done though! Also they are having solar panels installed next week so noise from scaffolding etc will abound.

It’s times like this where we would escape to our seaside bolthole but Dh isn’t well enough to go. Oh how I long for that peace and beauty . 😢

Dh wasn’t so good yesterday, very tired and didn’t feel up to excercises and chat. Today is a new day so we’ll see how things turn out.
DS1 is coming round to lop some bushes. I’ll leave him to keep an eye on his dad and go for a dog walk over the fields.

Thankyou all for your kind thoughts and I wish you all a happy day. 🌱

karmalady Sat 12-Apr-25 08:42:16

Ginster, that build next to your fence needs to be at least a metre away from your fence, building regs

Jaxjacky Sat 12-Apr-25 08:53:37

Morning from S Hants, we’ve had cloud and sun so far, sadly no desperately needed rain forecast today.
Marvellous beach house Pantglas he could have passed his A level too 🙂
What a delightful evening BlueSapphire
Enjoy your dog walk Gingster precious time for you amongst the challenges.
Not much on today, MrJ has just been for my paper, then he’s out to price a job, his football team or on TV later.
I’ve got plants to pot on - that planting out comment gave me a wry smile Grammaretto, my patience is always tested this time of year.
My only other excitement today is using a purple shampoo, I’m assured I won’t be become one of the blue rise brigade I recall from my youth!
Major achievement Ashcombe 👏👏👏

I’m so sorry gingster. Hope today seems better.

Georgesgran Sat 12-Apr-25 09:05:26

You’ve got me worried gM but my phone is old, out of contract and the camera doesn’t work after an unfortunate incident last year when it was run over!
I’d stick with EE, but Tesco charges are much lower.

A very late good morning Mick and all GN's on a bright sunny morning in North Yorkshire.

I am still sat in my dressing gown as am struggling to get around today, but eventually with a bit of help from some painkillers will get myself showered dressed and off to the market. It is a bit frustrating but I cant complain as I am paying for a great day out yesterday. Reading your posts I have missed a few bits from yesterday. I had various plans but when the forecast said it was going to be good but that today and tomorrow we could expect rain and colder, I ditched all jobs and played hookey.

Took an age to get the stuff in the car but needed warm things to wear then but took lighter stuff with me and picnic things etc. Thought of going to the coast but decided to go back to old haunts, and had a lovely ride over the wolds to Beverley. I was at school at the girls grammar school there and sang in the Minster and St Marys . It was a good idea and as it was friday was reasonably quiet trip across. Everywhere looked lovely with daffodils and blossom out and some green in the hedges.
I had intended to go round the shops etc but stopped in a quiet little road in the wolds and changed into summer trousers and t shirt and sandals, and when I got parked up in Beverley it was so hot, I was happy to sit with a coffee in the sunshine and watch the world go by for a while. Costa del Beverley had plenty to watch going by. All sorts of families and tourists and everyone enjoying the sunshine. I got moving and looked around and the weather stayed wonderful.

So then had the mad idea of going to Hornsea on the coast. The later afternoon I would have been driving directly into the sun in traffic, so went the other direction and had another pleasant trip and sat watching the sea and birds with my binoculars and a little wander around. Then northwards up towards Bridlington and only set off back as the sun was setting and the traffic calmed so didnt get home until nearly 10pm. Hence todays slow start but so worth it. So today it will be sorting out the car, getting fuel and some things from the market and recovering. But a lovely day, to be treasured as a memory of a great day on a day when I am not doing so well.

Grandmabatty so sorry to hear your operation was postponed, All that stress and getting ready for it and now you have to go through that again.
Ashcombe Well done for your walk . You are winning!

Hope everyone can have a good day and the weather is good for you all, but rains tonight to water the gardens!!

Stilllearning Sat 12-Apr-25 09:29:31

Morning from the edge of South Lanarkshire where the sun continues to shine and blue sky cheers the soul. According to the forecast however, it’s more of a last hurrah and our usual weather set to return by this evening. At least we made the most of yesterday afternoon sitting in the sun and enjoying a nice white wine.

DD and SiL are ‘minding’ a very cute wee Yorkshire terrier and he is bouncing about joyfully which is good fun too.

Catching up with an eccentric friend from Edinburgh this afternoon then a TV/ book evening later as DD is out on back shift.

Hoping the sun shines for everyone today and 💐 to Gingster and her DH.

Good to see youMadeleine I've popped back to the GM thread three times to see if you had posted. Glad you are ok, although suffering the after effects of yesterday's great day out. smile

Good morning everyone from Sunnyside sandhills northwest coast.
Art yesterday morning and jolly as always, but my effort not very successful. Then lunch in the garden as weather so nice and a FaceTime with flying DD in Mexico.
I bought a straw sun hat for my holiday in the supermarket but have lost it along the way….phoned them, but no joy. Can’t think what I’ve done with it.

To a G&S production in the evening, I know the first violinist. Gaggle of girls next to me with drinks in hand whooping and cheering🙄Grumpy old woman reaction.

Off soon to church bazaar in the next village.
Lovely varied photos today and thoughts to all🌺
