Good morning from a sunny NE.
Had lovely lunch out with friend yesterday, not a boozy lunch as she was driving.
Rest of the day was a lazy one, I kept nodding off in front of the TV.
Today GD1 is returning from university and coming to visit with her Dad and sister. Next week they are off to visit other GPs who live in a beautiful Oxfordshire village.
Have a good weekend.

Morning all from West Oxfordshire.

I have to get up soon as I’m off to London. I’m meeting younger son for lunch before going to the Edwardians exhibition at the King’s Gallery at Buckingham Palace.

Have a good day.

Good morning all from sunny Lancashire.

Another beautiful day here but I still can’t go out. I may try to sit in the garden in my wheelchair for a little while,

Have a good day 🌹

Good morning from N Bucks and another clear blue sky and wall to wall ☀️☀️☀️
It’s D2’s birthday today - she and SIL and their little boy are in Amsterdam where she is working on a Strauss opera for Dutch National Opera. She’s been weekly commuting from London so I am happy for them that they can be together, especially on her birthday and GS has been missing his mummy.
They will be staying with her now until Easter then GS has to go back to school. The opera (Die Frau Ohne Schatten) opens on the 23rd and my sisters in law and I are flying out on Easter Monday to be there. Some trepidation as I have never flown from London City, but Eurostar was even more expensive- ridiculously so.
Lunch out today with friends in a neighbouring village (he used to be our MP) so glad rags on. I know it will be lovely , she will have made something delicious and expect we’ll be sitting out in their beautiful farmhouse garden. Unlike mine!
Wishing you all a peaceful and pleasant weekend. ☀️

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where Alexa tells me it’s 6°C and will be 19°C later on another gloriously sunny day. I’m loving this! We plan a quiet restful day, seeing no-one, after yesterday’s hospital appointment.

Georgesgran Sat 12-Apr-25 07:21:49

Just a thought gM.
Did you not request a PAC number from your previous network? That’s the way to port your number from supplier to supplier. I’m about to do it myself after nearly 30 years with Orange/EE and move to Tesco.

Thank you glammagran, and all others who sent sympathy. I'm quite reconciled to it now, especially with mum's funeral coming up.

Grandmabatty Sat 12-Apr-25 07:18:35

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 4° and a beautiful blue sky. Ash well done on your lengthy walk! Pantglas your beach hut is lovely. Bellasnana lovely photos of the boys.
Yesterday morning was spent playing football in dds garden with dgs1 and admiring dgs2's collection of stones. Dd brought lunch in when she returned so a very non healthy lunch of a cheese and onion pasty followed by a doughnut. Then home where I promptly fell asleep. There has been a strong smell of smoke in our area for a few days. Apparently there was a forest fire towards Cumbernauld and the smell travelled over. I think it's out now but it's a warning of the dangers of prolonged dry weather.
Today I'm meeting my Saturday friend for breakfast in the local garden centre then I'll take her home. I'll strip the bed and get the sheets out on the line before I go. This afternoon will be gardening, if it stays dry. Have a good day all

Good Morning from Durham. Another warm, but cloudy day forecast, with no rain.
The roofers have finished and gone, but left some bags of moss to be collected next week. The glazier rang later, with an eye-watering quote for replacement units, but it has to be done.
DD1 is dropping DGS1 off here for a sleepover, as she and her DH are having a well-earned afternoon/evening out. He and are going to meet up with DD2 and DGS2 for a late lunch. The boys love being together, but with different lives, is not that often.
Well done Ash. I hope Maw is brighter today and those others who feel they have the weight of the World on their shoulders.

Best wishes to all. X

Good morning from a slightly misty Cambridgeshire. We are planning our first BBQ today. DD1 & family are coming over for the day and DD2 will join us later.

Yesterday my littlest granddaughter was 11 and we celebrated and enjoyed a lovely meal out together.

I am still being bitten have endless bites on my legs 🤷‍♀️ I am covering myself in insect repellent. DH has had a couple but I am definitely far tastier!!

Thinking of Gingster and the FGT’s and Rosesmaw but also sending a hug to all those struggling today on GM thread 💐Have the best day

brook2704 Sat 12-Apr-25 07:12:07

Good morning everyone from Inverness where we’ve clear blue sky and another lovely day ahead
Gorgeous pictures Pantglas and Brllas, thanks for sharing
Well done Ash, you’re doing so well 👍
We’re off out for breakfast this morning, there’s a new cafe opened in town that’s getting good reviews so we’re going to try it out. Later I’ve a hairdressers appointment so I’m looking forward to a bit of pampering and a restful afternoon
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Good morning from a still sunny Wiltshire.

Later we will take round DGS2’s birthday presents. We are away for his 4th birthday which is next week. Feel a little sad about it but I don’t think he will be particularly bothered. Then home to finalise packing as we set sail tomorrow. Dinner will be chilli from the freezer with baked potatoes.

LLFL I’m so pleased your great niece has finally put in an appearance. Do post a photo if you are able to.
Grandmabatty so sorry to hear your cataract op was postponed. It must be really galling to be psyched up and then let down. Thinking of Sallyforth - I hope you are able to enjoy your break. Glad you are back with your DH Ash. Hoping you get good news for your DH FGT2.

Have a good Saturday everyone.

Morning Mick, morning All. A misty start for our corner of Somerset.

Yesterday afternoon saw us wandering round a local park where we watched the squirrels playing in very warm sunshine. More cloud today with showers due later. We’ll just see how the day evolves I think.

Have the best day you can everyone.

Good morning from sunny South Lanarkshire.

Beautiful beach hut Pantglaas.

We had a fun day with the Edinburgh GC yesterday. They played in the park, gathered sticks and pebbles, and were nice to each other for most of the day. Later we made birthday cards for their mum, much glue and glitter involved.

I’m having a recovery day as my back was groaning last night.

Sad to see the weather is changing after a few beautiful days.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Kalu Sat 12-Apr-25 06:55:13

Good morning all. A sunny start to the day but possibly cloudy later. At least it is dry and warm.

A few posts in and I am already inspired to get started on two projects.
Firstly, Plantglas. I love your beach house and your decor has confirmed my plan to paint 2 contrasting colours in the new garden room I had built last year. Well done Mr P.
Secondly, Karma pleased to hear the cleaner I suggested was a success.

I have had a busy enjoyable week, out most days but today will be an at home day foutering about pleasing myself, at my own pace, outdoors. Is 3 months of this weather too much to ask?☀️

Beast wishes to all for a good day and hopefully some respite for those of you in need of such as you toil on through certain difficult days.

Ashcombe Sat 12-Apr-25 06:53:28

Thank you for your encouragement, Greyduster and karmalady.

karmalady Sat 12-Apr-25 06:50:02

Fabulous hard-earned progress Ash. You must be over the moon

Bellasnana Sat 12-Apr-25 06:48:44

Good morning from Malta where it looks cloudy at the moment.

Had a lovely day yesterday indulging myself in watching tennis!

I had to go to the hairdresser in the middle of a very exciting match but kept looking at the score on my phone then went to DD3’s to watch the rest as it was nearer than my place, a good move as there was birthday cake which I had with a cuppa!

The boys seem to be having a good time in Sicily. They FaceTimed and it was lovely to see their little faces.

More tennis to watch today plus a few boring jobs areound the home. I did get the bed changed and two loads of laundry dried outside yesterday in between matches.

Love your beach house, Pantglas! Well done to Mr P, it looks very cosy.

Well done to Iris, that was quite an achievement for her.

Wishing a good day to all, especially those who are feeling down in the dumps.☀️

Greyduster Sat 12-Apr-25 06:39:53

Well done on your walk, Ash - onward and upward!

Greyduster Sat 12-Apr-25 06:38:44

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Not a cloud in the South Yorkshire sky and it’s going to be another hot one. DD and her friend are running the Peak District Birthday Bash today. Thirty five gruelling kilometres in some spectacular countryside. I’m hoping for a bit of a breeze on the tops for them, but my goodness the views will be worth it.
Yesterday, GS did a sterling job helping me put edging on the new bed I’m planting in the front. It was hard work and I couldn’t have done it on my own. He likes to get his hands dirty; and his knees, and his face……
Today will be a steady day of cleaning, more gardening and I’ll cook myself something nice for dinner.
Have the best day you can folks.

Ashcombe Sat 12-Apr-25 06:27:52

Good morning from Torbay where the pink tinged clouds indicate a possible change in the weather following a glorious day yesterday.

Yesterday, I was delighted to discover that I could manage to walk all the way to the Downs without difficulty. My longest walk since being in hospital! We celebrated with a bevy in our favourite watering hole!

A beautiful beach house, Pantglas!

Well done to Iris, grandMattie!

Thoughts with all who are struggling with their health, especially Gingster’s DH.

RosesandLilac Sat 12-Apr-25 06:27:23

Good morning from south Glos where it’s cloudy at the moment.
An early dog walk this morning, I have an all day Zoom art workshop using pastels today, a material that’s totally new to me.
I had a lovely time at art group yesterday, I’m learning something new every week from my wonderful friend, she’s so talented.
It was a tad warm in the summerhouse by the afternoon, I’m not complaining but I need to get the blinds put up now- the man who said he’d do it hasn’t got back to me so I will ask DS when they’re down at the end of the week.
There’s rain forecast for later here, I must admit that the garden certainly needs it, much cooler temperatures for the week ahead too ☹️
Enjoy the weekend 🌹

Susan56 Sat 12-Apr-25 06:15:01

Love the beach house Pantglas!

karmalady Sat 12-Apr-25 05:56:21

Good morning from s somerset, the weather is on the turn, back to cloudy today

I cannot see rain in the forecast for at least a week, oh dear, my slug nematodes for my allotment arrived yesterday and the soil needs to be damp. It is going to be a lot of work, back and forth with a watering can. I might as well start today

Kalu, I bought that upvc cleaner/restorer and have used it, what a good result. Thanks for that tip. I was busy yesterday morning, all downstairs windows are now sparkling and all the upvc is shiny. I have a lot, back has 5 doors and 4 windows. Windows on each house side and at the front. It became a very boring job, I think I took my bright light house for granted wrt number of windows

I have tried my first recipe box from my organic veg box supplier, I enjoyed making it, everything to hand and I wanted to spread my wings re variety of foods. I am going to put the stir fry sauce recipe into my cooking notebook

I was looking at that book just now, started it during the 80s and how the recipes have changed from family food, mousses, sourdoughs etc. It is a bit of personal history. I found my perfect ice cream recipe and will be making that on wednesday, small single tubs only

Have a good day

Good morning Mick, Susan and gM from north Wales where the last of the wonderful weather 🌞ends this afternoon 😡 and finally…here’s Mr PGs masterpiece! Amazing wot O level Art can achieve innit!

We sat and enjoyed the sunset with a glass of cava and a friend popped in and now wants to employ him!

I’m off on my constitutional walk to the next town for a 🗞️ shortly where the horses and lambs await my conversation along the way…folks round here must think I’m dotty 🫣

I’ll pop back later on and catch up with all your news, good and not so…
