Kalu Sun 13-Apr-25 08:04:41

Happy sailing Bluesapphire and Glammagran

karmalady Sun 13-Apr-25 08:02:56

Wise words and an interesting post Rosieandhermaw

Especially this line which truly resonated with me, what I do almost every day. Life does not come easy when widowed

If you want it to happen, sometimes you just have to make it happen don’t you?

baubles Sun 13-Apr-25 08:00:38

Bon voyage BlueSapphire and Glammagran.

Grammaretto Sun 13-Apr-25 08:00:35

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Sun's shining again.
I may well be ironing too gMattie as I forgot to bring the washing in yesterday and had to put clean sheets on my bed

I had been chatting to the NZ family.
No travel plans this year as I must concentrate on the house move.

I viewed a flat for sale yesterday but DGD announced: " you couldn't live in a flat granny" as she was sowing seeds in trays in the greenhouse.

You sound well on the road to recovery Ash smile

Well done your dog Susan 🐕 👏 👍
Have a wonderful cruise BlueSapphire 🛳

Thinking of those facing difficulties and hope you find time to enjoy something today.

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s dry but not sunny and cooler out. Alexa tells me it’s 9°C with showers later and 12°C. I miss the sun already! It’s been wonderful hasn’t it?

Lunch at my favourite Italian restaurant this afternoon with my stepfather. We had to miss last Sunday as Himself had that awful gastric bug. I’m hoping he now regains the half stone he lost over the next few days.

Kalu Sun 13-Apr-25 07:56:48

Good morning all. We had rain overnight and despite a watery sun at present I fear we will be having more of a cloudy day in Glasgow.

GM, widowhood, as I am discovering is a very difficult road since DH died 8 months ago. I am currently trying to reinvent myself, keeping busy one way or another through what is my. new normal life now and quietly getting on with it.
baubles a day of respite when needed isn’t something I would class as a boring day. You are not a boring person so enjoy your well earned day of doing what suits you.

I had a lovely long FaceTime blether with DD2 in Australia this morning. If only she lived nearer but at least I can still be part of her life thanks to FT.
Now 75, I have received a date for my Covid vaccine next month.

My best wishes to all for a pleasant Sunday and a smoother one for those with worries and struggles.

RosieandherMaw Sun 13-Apr-25 07:50:50

Good morning - also from N Bucks (about 10 minutes down the road from Ginny ) and it’s a clear blue sky and wall to wall ☀️☀️☀️again.
Yesterdays lunch went on all afternoon and I didn’t get back till 5. Rosie had been a good dog but it was an effort to take her out for a toddle as I felt very “relaxed” (= ready for a nap)
Today I have to ring a potential speaker for an Arts Society Special Interest Day (know as SIDs) I am running in 2026. I want us to do one on Street Art, Banksy, maybe Keith Haring. I know it might be out of some people’s comfort zone but these always sell out so I am taking a chance. D3 is very proud that they can see one of last years London Banksy pieces on her local chippy from a back bedroom window !
Decided to take lonely Sundays in hand and am meeting up with 2 Bedford Art History class friends this afternoon.
If you want it to happen, sometimes you just have to make it happen don’t you?
Wishing you all a relaxed and ☀️ Palm Sunday 🌿

Good morning all from a dull Black country sign the schools have broken up.
A trip to Aldi for fresh flowers what an exciting life I lead, roast beef for dinner not my favourite but DH deserves a treat now and again.
BlueSapphie and Glammagran happy cruising 🛳.
Have the best day you can everyone whatever your plans ☀️.

karmalady Sun 13-Apr-25 07:42:16

Blossoming well done on the steady progress and your positive attitude, quietly inspirational and can-do.

RosesandLilac Sun 13-Apr-25 07:27:32

Good morning everyone from a hillside in south Glos- no rain materialised yesterday despite very black clouds early evening.
I had a great day using pastels for a Zoom workshop with a marvellous artist, very happy with my first attempt!
In the late afternoon we took the dogs out, not really intending to walk as far as we did 🙄. Setting off across the fields we watched the roe deer feeding before going down into the woods where both dogs enjoyed splashing around in the stream before heading up the very steep slope into the parkland. We stopped to chat to one of the chefs in the posh country house before coming back home.
There were a few spots of rain but that was it! Nearly 4 miles.
A very pleasant walk, much enjoyed by the dogs too who were asleep within minutes of getting back!
I didn’t sleep well, never mind, a quiet day today, just housework and bits.
Wishing you all a lovely day 🌹

GrannyGravy13 Sun 13-Apr-25 07:23:54

Morning everyone, I have been awake since 4am!

My head is throbbing, I have been sneezing and feel as if I have been hit in the face. It could be really bad hay fever as I spent time in the garden, a cold or sinusitis 🤷‍♀️. I do know it needs to be gone PDQ!

Wishing you all a peaceful Sunday 🙋‍♀️

brook2704 Sun 13-Apr-25 07:20:59

Good morning everyone from Inverness where we’ve light grey cloud and a cooler forecast, a definite change in the weather
Have a wonderful holiday BlueSapphire, I’m looking forward to hearing all about it. How lovely to be meeting up with gransnet pals as well
After a busy few days and being out a lot I’m looking forward to a quieter day today and catching up on jobs at home. I’d like to go through my clothes and sort out what’s worth keeping and what’s not, also do the same with DHs clothes when he’s not looking. The wardrobes badly need sorting out and organising so hopefully I’ll make a start and not get sidetracked by going into the garden
If you’re out and about meeting friends and family today, enjoy the time together
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Good morning from Cambridgeshire. I had an odd night. I went to bed at 9 as I was exhausted and seemed to wake every two hours with strange dreams!

We had a lovely day yesterday with both DD’s here and our first BBQ of the year was eaten in the garden in the sun. I pulled out some old photos and DD1 certainly had some bizarre haircuts when she was little😂We realised that my 16 year old grandson looks like my dad at the same age. What fun we had laughing together.

Today will be a quiet one maybe a little gardening and a roast dinner to cook later.

I awoke with 4 more very itchy bites on my left leg so fed up with them ….

Hope everyone has a good day

cornergran Sun 13-Apr-25 07:12:55

Morning Mick, morning All. It looks damp out there. Our corner of Somerset is forecast some sun in a couple of hours

Hope the forecast is right as we’re due to meet our not so Littlest and his minders on what we anticipate to be a busy sea front. Their idea, apparently there is energy to be burned off which is best achieved outside. It will be good to see them no matter the weather.

Thoughts go to everyone with life’s mountains to climb. Hope Sunday is gentle with us all.

ginny Sun 13-Apr-25 07:08:01

Good morning. I’m not sure what the weather will do today here in N.Bucks.
Our two younger DGSs will be arriving at 11.30. We shall pop out for lunch and then return to do some Easter crafting. Maybe we’ll be able to spend some time in the garden as the youngest wants to rearrange the Fairy garden bowl.

Pleased to hear that several of our poorly GNs are improving and hope the same for others. Wishing all a good day with a smile along the way.

BlueSapphire Sun 13-Apr-25 07:07:59

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny 🌞Northampton.

Mick I will beg to differ with grandMattie and suggest getting your appointment with EE/BT to sort your phone out; I have always found them to be very helpful.

It's cruise.day! Up much earlier for my.mug of tea and biscuit - my driver should arrive.at around 10.45, and I have a few things to do before then.

Re-organised the suitcases yesterday morning so I have a more even distribution of clothes - I now have only a couple of formal evening dresses to pack. Labels are re-written with new cabin number. An outfit to wear tonight is now in my hand luggage complete with sponge bag and make-up.

Never got to the 60th birthday party yesterday; I was being given a lift there and back with neighbours who were also going, but the husband (who has dementia) wasn't up to it, and couldn't be left on his own. His wife came round in the afternoon needing a kindly shoulder, absolutely distraught - of course I comforted her as best I could - she is finding life with him very difficult at the moment. Only slightly disappointed, but more irked by the fact I gave up an important rugby match to attend the party! At least we won the match by a large margin, 51-16, I think the final score was.

So looking forward to this cruise, visiting new places and lovely weathet. Not forgetting meeting glammagran and also hopefully the two of us meeting up with Bellasnana in Malta next Sunday.

Wishing everyone another lovely day in the sunshine 🌞🌞!

Georgesgran Sun 13-Apr-25 07:00:25

Good Morning from a fine, sunny Durham. A great afternoon with the both DGSs yesterday. They loved playing together, despite the age gap. A shame they don’t see each other often, but different lifestyles, etc.
DGS1 is here and still asleep. I’ll take him to his swimming class, then drop him off at home. No plans, other than changing beds later.

Best wishes to all. X

Whingey Sun 13-Apr-25 06:59:39

Morning everyone. Rosie and her maw I am going to Amsterdam for 70th birthday. Tell me about it.

baubles Sun 13-Apr-25 06:59:10

Good morning from South Lanarkshire where we’ve had some rain overnight.

I wasn’t over the door yesterday, an extremely quiet (or boring, depending on your mindset) day. I felt I needed it.
Caught up on the laundry and ironing.

Mass this morning and this afternoon our yarn group is putting together some kind of crochet flower arrangement. I’m not quite sure what the finished article will look like.

Have the best day possible everyone.

glammagran Sun 13-Apr-25 06:55:25

I forgot to say, you posted a lovely picture of your twins yesterday overlooking the sparkling sea in Sicily, Bellasnana.

Grandmabatty Sun 13-Apr-25 06:49:47

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 7° and dry. A bit cloudy so far. Bellasnana enjoy your tennis watching. Mum and dad went to Wimbledon in the 70s and saw many of the great players. GrandMattie your flowers are lovely. Ladyleftfieldlover fingers crossed you sell all the honey.
Yesterday I met a friend for breakfast at the local garden centre. We enjoyed our meal and had a good blether. I stripped the bed and hung it out. By the time I got home from blethering, it was dry, so remade the bed. A bit of light weeding was all I accomplished in the garden.
Today I'm going back to the garden centre for breakfast with the family. My aunt and uncle are coming too. The boys will be happy as they enjoy these get togethers. I'll need to go to Aldi for bread and milk as I'm very low on stocks. But that's all I have planned. A bit more gardening if it stays dry. No idea what I'll have for dinner. Have a good day all.

Blossoming Sun 13-Apr-25 06:44:58

Good morning all from cloudy Lancashire. It looks like the sun has left us for now, though the forecast is promising us a couple of sunny hours this evening.

My carer visits finished yesterday so I will be managing getting up, washed and dressed by myself from now on. MrB will be around to help if needed,

Wishing you all a peaceful Sunday 🌹
