I hope that you are recovering from your awful night, Grandma. I add my voice to those saying you might need a plan to prevent this in the future.

You may need a walking frame to support you when you get out of bed. And a bedrail that slips between the mattress n the base to hold onto when you get up.
It must have been awful to be on the floor for so long.

Goodness. flowers

Happy the ambulance man and his machine sorted.

Hopefully something can be done to prevent another fall.

Can you get those bed sides that slide under the mattress so that you can't fall out of bed ?

My late father fell out of bed and hit his head . He died from it . Hope you find something to keep you safe in bed .

Oh so very sorry that this happened, and very glad you are okay again now.
Is there anything that could be done to help prevent this happening again?

Oh dear. I hope you managed at least a few hours sleep after all that trauma. Best wishes

Oh no, just seeing this now — hope the ambulance got to you and you’re back on your feet. That must’ve been so frustrating. Glad you weren’t hurt. Let us know how you're doing when you can.

Hope you are asleep and don't see this for an hour or two!

Good night!!

Hello.

I’ve just woken up and seen this.

Hope you get some sleep soon! Or at least a welcome cup of tea .

Grandma70s Mon 21-Apr-25 02:59:44

I’m up and back in bed! A very nice ambulance man came with a machine called a raiser or something, which I slid onto and it put me back in bed. Relief! I really must be more careful. Going to sleep now, I hope.

I'm glad to hear that someone is with you. I do hope you don't have to wait much longer, you must be very uncomfortable.
Please update when you're back in your bed, I'll be thinking about you.

Grandma70s Mon 21-Apr-25 02:24:43

Thank you for your reply. I’m still on the floor and very bored! But the place is warm, so not too bad. Fed up with waiting, but since I’m not injured I am low priority. A member of the staff is with me.

Dresden Mon 21-Apr-25 02:16:52

I've just seen your post OP. If you're still waiting for the ambulance, can you call the sheltered housing staff to make sure you're warm and as comfortable as possible? 3 hours on the floor alone in the middle of the night sounds grim, I think you need to access whatever support is available.
I hope you're soon back.on your feet.

Maybe this Should be under health. I slipped getting out of bed and ju,st cannot get up, so am sitting on the floor. Iam in.a Sheltered flat so could call staff, but they aren’t allowed to haul me up so have had to call an ambulance. That means about 3 hours wait. I am so annoyed, not to mention tired. I’m not hurt, it’s just that my legs are very weak. I can’t call friends of family at this time of night so am venting my frustration here.
