Good morning all from a wet Black country, front lawn will have to wait for its cut. Yesterday the back lawn was mown and encroaching weeds from neighbours removed they are not gardeners, they usually pay someone once a year to clear it.
Lovely photo of the Malta meet up glad you had nice day BlueSapphire .
Good to see Marydoll posting hope your feeling a little better today.
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans, safe travels those on the move and virtual hugs where needed ☀️.

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 7° and cloudy. Bellasnana, BlueSapphire and Glammagran, what a lovely photo of the three of you. GrandMattie I enjoyed The Messiah too. It brought back memories as I sang parts of it as solos and also the chorus as part of a choir. I sang, 'Come unto him, all ye that are faithful ' in St Giles Cathedral in Edinburgh. That was special. Redcar have a lovely trip to see your godmother. She sounds a very interesting lady. Susan you are quite right to lie still. 😂
Yesterday I went to Tesco for a few fresh bits and pieces, including flowers for my aunt and daughter and a baton of crusty bread. Then the rest of the time cooking and putting food out ready for the buffet. I never knowingly underfeed, and was struggling to find space. One o'clock came and so did the family, including my son. The boys were delighted to be at grandma's house and bounced about like puppies. My ds brought a tiramisu for dessert and gifts for everyone. He also brought craft stuff and, between courses, helped the boys to make unidentifiable flying objects 😂. It was so nice to see him interacting with them. Dgs2 didn't really know him as he'd only met him as a tiny baby. Lots of chat, eating and laughing went on. It was heartwarming to have my family near and I am very thankful that my son reached out. The last gift from mum.
Today I will empty the dishwasher again and potter. I intend to take down the Easter decorations and look at the boys room. It needs a tidy too. Or I might just leave that for another day. Have a good Easter Monday however you spend it.

Good morning everyone, a wet start to the day and hopefully it will clear.
To all those on The Spirit of Discovery, is it a nice ship? I have been looking and cannot believe I have to pay double as a single, but if I don't I can’t see me going on a cruise.
Have a lovely day everyone.

Good morning from an overcast NE yet again.
The sun did make an appearance yesterday but there was a chilly wind.
DD and SIL came early afternoon and we did have a little walk.
DS sent photos of his early morning walk with GD1, they are on holiday in ' Downton'. His in laws live in a chocolate box cottage with Wisteria covering the front.
Today I am going to have a lazy day.
Pleased the meet up went well.
Hope you feel better soon Marydoll.
Have a good day everyone.

Good morning Mick and everyone from showery Carlisle.

Yesterday's weather was beautiful, warm sun all day. I went for a short early walk then spent the rest of the morning reading the papers and pottering in the garden. Several shrubs have suffered during the winter and needed trimming back. I have more trouble keeping things going in this garden where it is more sheltered than in my previous one, open to the full blast of the wet southwesters.
More reading and some tedious computer research after lunch but regularly 'rewarded' myself with delicious St Lucian dark milk chocolate from a slab I'd bought. It will go today, sadly!

I shall just stay home today and plod through various jobs and the laundry. Later, I will sort through my summer clothes which I got out of storage yesterday. They get far less wear than the winter ones which is a sad reflection on our climate.

Wishing you all the best possible day.

Good morning from bright and dry South Lanarkshire.

Lovely photo Blue, a happy meet up by the looks of it.

Yesterday was a gorgeous day. Mass was another beautiful service then we headed to DD’s for a late lunch. The food was delicious and the children were happy and chatty. A good day.

I think we will take a run down to the garden centres in the Clyde Valley just for a bit of a mooch and possibly coffee and cake.

Wishing everyone the best day possible, especially those finding life difficult just now.

Never said I am in the Midlands. Far from the sea.

glammagran Mon 21-Apr-25 08:12:30

Good morning from a rather grey and cool Spirit of Discovery en route to Athens tomorrow.

It was a delight to meet on the harbourside in Valletta with Bellasnana and BlueSapphire in the glorious hot sunshine. So nice to meet other Gransnetters for the first time this month. I'm glad the crew looked after the birthday girl well.

Today is DGS2's 4th birthday so will try and do a WhatsApp video call later.

I'm sorry you are still so under the weather Marydoll.

The clocks have moved forward again overnight where we are. I'll probably take a nap later. Have a good Easter Monday everyone.

Morning Mick, morning All from a grey, wet corner of Somerset.

Such a change, yesterday was sunny until about 4 when grey cloud arrived. We enjoyed a foray to the sea front, finding a sheltered table overlooking the beach for coffee and a long sit down. A little garden pottering and time in the conservatory filled the afternoon. Coffee with our granddaughters Mum this morning, not much else I suspect.

Good to see a happy image from Malta. Have the best day you can everyone.

Thanks Bella. That's what I guessed. You all look lovely and happy.

Good morning from a dull and damp Suffolk after lovely sunny weather yesterday. I haven’t yet read all the posts but I hope all had a good Easter Day.

DH produced a delicious lunch enjoyed by all of us and plenty of leftovers for today. Apart from a dog walk nothing else planned and I don’t think sitting in the garden will be part of it.

DGD4 of our Bristol lot is off to Nice with a party from school today and is super excited. They are away until Friday and the idea is for them to speak lots of French. Hers is somewhat different…to eat lots of pain au chocolat and go shopping…no doubt a shared wish with her 13 year old friends.

Hope all have a good day.

Morning from a grey S Hants, similar to yesterday.
Smashing picture from Malta, a magical meet up of three very happy ladies.
We were quiet yesterday until we went out to the local for meat draw, a very busy pub, staff rushed off their feet, there was an extra Easter prize of chocolate eggs.
Family are recovering from D&V, we’re steering clear for now!
Football to watch this afternoon and quiz tonight, no voluntary phone.
Joy is beaming from your post Grandmabatty delightful.

Good Morning from Durham. Very gloomy and cold, same as yesterday, but it turned out better, so hoping for the same today.
The final day of DD2 and DGS2 staying here - I’m nearly on my knees looking after a 3yr old with unlimited energy and enthusiasm! DD2 is ‘trying’ to have a lie in, but it’s not going to plan, with her dog and son bouncing all over her!
I’ve DD1’s car now, so I’m not under house arrest again this week. It’s a bit like steering an ocean liner, but I’m very grateful to have it for a few days.

Lovely to read of other GN’s Easter activities - such a lot of positivity. I hope MD feels better and no guilty conscience!

Best wishes to all. X

Greyduster Mon 21-Apr-25 08:44:08

Good morning Michael and all GNs from a damp South Yorkshire where it has rained quite heavily overnight by the look of it, I’ve been awake for about half an hour. Cooking a roast dinner knocks me out these days. The lamb was lovely; SiL made an excellent job of carving it (I’m hopeless at carving) and GS claimed the leftover piece of strawberry flan because he had peeled the carrots! We played cards in the evening.
Nothing much doing today. I have to put fuel in the car and will call at the garden centre to get some plant food. If it stays dry I’ll have a walk.
Have the best day you can, folks.

GrannyIvy Mon 21-Apr-25 08:54:06

Good morning from a grey Cambridgeshire. We are having a slow start today and trying to decide what to do. I think we will go into Cambridge for a wander around the shops. It looks like it will be a dull wet day so have abandoned the idea of a cycle ride.

Lovely pic from Malta, sounds like you had a lovely birthday BlueSapphire 🥂

Happy Easter Monday to all 💐

hollysteers Mon 21-Apr-25 09:56:03

Good morning from a damp northwest sandhills coast.
Quiet day yesterday recovering from alcohol/cramp the night before but enjoying chocolate eggs. FaceTime with DD in the south.

I’m catching up with a 1970s series on YouTube “The Cedar Tree” and loving it, but there are so many episodes, I’m mixed up with the series and don’t know where I am…

Off soon for lunch with pianist friend, I’ve booked an Italian and I’ll hear his health woes, plus mind thrown in for good measure.

Love pic of the meet up Grans and thoughts to all🌺

Good morning Mick and all from a grey cold Angus coast! I've been ages on here reading of all your warm sunny Easter doings. Lovely photo of three lovely ladies from Malta! And out of everything, I am so glad your son joined you for your Easter family get together Grandmabatty. A true resurrection indeed.
I was shocked to hear yesterday that one of my tai chi friends had died suddenly - I still can't quite take it in. I had been looking forward to catching up with her at our upcoming workshop in June. This news comes hard on the heels of the deaths of two other friends for whom I'd been bridesmaid 60 years ago. They died within a week of each other and were laid to rest together last week. Not a happy time.
Now I must away and hang the washing out - life goes on - and hope the 'no rain' forecast is accurate. I must say it doesn't look as if it is! 🤞
Enjoy your Easter Monday everyone - and what's left of your Easter eggs 😉

Heavy drizzle in mid-Lancs........it doesn't bode well for the traditional egg-rolling festival in Avenham Park, Preston. Mind you, the park slopes straight down to the River Ribble so maybe we'll end up watching the eggs bobbing along, happily, as the tide goes out........

TheWeirdoAgain1 Mon 21-Apr-25 10:36:34

Good morning, Michael12 and all!

I've booked my week off work this month for my 60th birthday! Saturday 26th April to Friday 2nd May .... just a few more days....

I did a coin toss up as I couldn't decide on Ripon, Whitby or York, it came up as Whitby! I'll book a single room in a B&B and have a jolly good time!

When I booked the holiday for my 59th I found a gorgeous Fine Dine Indian Restaurant in York and was sat there quietly minding my own business when this bloke on another table came over and tried to chat me up! I very politely but firmly said thank you but no!

A couple of nights ago on night shift I was sat at in the staff room on a break and screamed the place down! A 8-legged beastie thing dangled from the ceiling and landed on my bare arm! I was absolutely hysterical! I may be extra tall and built like a farmers wife but those things could give me a heart attack!

You all have a good day everyone!

Gingster Mon 21-Apr-25 10:54:52

Good morning all.
Late today and just waiting for the physio.
DS1 and DIL have been round with the new toilet seat and fixed it on. 🙏.

Enjoy your day 🌱

Good morning from a wet and dismal midlands. Sad because it was lovely sitting outside yesterday in the sun.
Headaches still not gone and back to the hospital on Wednesday.
Hugs to all suffering today.
Sorry you’re still suffering Marydoll

GrandmaC47 Mon 21-Apr-25 11:50:19

Mae13 you brought back a memory! 45 years ago taking our dds and their cousins to Avenham park for the egg rolling. My sister lives outside Preston and I’m an expert at travel from Durham to Preston by train.

henetha Mon 21-Apr-25 13:43:18

I drove to Torquay this morning to see an old friend. The traffic was awful so I drive straight home afterwards and stopped for a country walk on the way.
Lovely sunshine but with sudden heavy showers here on the edge of Dartmoor.
