brook2704 Tue 22-Apr-25 07:40:08

Good morning everyone from Inverness where we’ve blue sky and sunshine
How lovely to see a hedgehog in the garden Pantglas
I know that feeling rosesandlilac it’s lovely having the family around but so tiring, hope you can have a rest today
I’m off to the gym this morning for a couple of classes and then home to finish packing for our trip away tomorrow. A busy few days as we’re off to London to meet up with DS and his partner and then onto Cambridge to see DD1 and family. I’m really looking forward to seeing everyone and catching up on all the news
Sar53 safe travels home, sounds like you’ve enjoyed a lovely family time and hope your infection is soon sorted out
Enjoy your trip away GG13 and everyone else on holiday 😎
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Gingster your poor husband. And poor you too. I hope he is made more comfortable and gets out of hospital quickly

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s sunny. A lovely start to the day. Damp out so it must’ve rained in the night - nice for the tubs of plants at the front door. The gorgeous rust red azalea looks stunning. Alexa tells me it’s 6°C with a chance of showers and a high of 16°C. Trafford schools all go back today. We have no plans at all for today. Nice.

I’m hoping GG13 is on that flight to Málaga now to spend the week with her friend and that Gingster’s husband is better today.

Himself has just brought us TIB so I’ll read all your posts now.

Gingster Tue 22-Apr-25 07:29:25

Good morning all and bright and sunny here in Essex.

What a day we had yesterday, after a good start with ds1 and DIL buying and fixing a new toilet seat.

Then it all went haywire with dh. He couldn’t go to the toilet and became so uncomfortable and distressed . By mid afternoon I called 999 after having dialled 111 3 hours before and they hadn’t got back to me.

Paramedics arrived and off we went to hospital. A blocked bowel and bladder. Kidney infection. Had a scan No surgery required ! He will stay in for a few days. . DS2 arrived from Hertfordshire and we eventually got home at 1 am.

Will see what today brings.

Have a great holiday GG. ✈️
Safe journey home Sar.

Take care all 🙏

Good morning all from a sunny Black country after nonstop rain yesterday it's very welcome.
Just lately I'm waking up with more aches than I went to bed with, we either need a new mattress or must accept my age is catching me up.
Another domestic goddess here today maybe a bit of admin as well.
GG have a lovely holiday safe travels and for anyone else on the move.
Have the best day you can everyone ☀️.

harrigran Tue 22-Apr-25 07:19:29

Good morning from a sunny NE.
Yesterday was a grey miserable day and I had no inclination to do anything.
Vaccination arm is still painful and making it awkward to do anything.
Need to do some admin today.
Have a good day everyone.

Good Morning from Durham. Bright blue sky and the sun is shining.
After a hectic weekend with DD2 and DGS2, they went home last night - work and nursery today,
Goodness, he’s a live wire. I just about collapsed on the sofa after they’d gone. Beds to strip today.
I’m meeting a friend for coffee this afternoon, then I’ll take DD2’s Little Dog (here until the weekend) out.
A man is coming to re-roof my shed this week, but he doesn’t know which day.

Hope Gingster’s DH is more comfortable today. MD feeling a little better too?

Best wishes to all. X

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 5° with brilliant sunshine. I fear it won't last. Sar safe journey but get that infection seen to! Pantglas I love hedgehogs. I hope Harry settles in your garden. Ash all our schools go back today.
Yesterday was a pleasantly quiet day for me. I tidied up, put away Easter decorations and generally pottered and recharged my batteries. I made chicken korma and Bombay potatoes with some leftovers.
Today I'm released from childcare duties. Dd has made another arrangements thinking I would be recovering from cataract surgery and I've got today off. I will go to the pharmacy to pick up my prescription and probably the library too as they are fairly close to each other. I have a little ironing to do. Apart from that, the day will be quiet again. Have a good day all

luluaugust Tue 22-Apr-25 07:16:27

Good morning from a bright W Kent. Quieter day yesterday with DB, we had a walk and sat and chatted. Today is DD2’s birthday but she is back to school this morning. I have a day of cleaning and packing to go away at the end of the week.
Best wishes

kittylester Tue 22-Apr-25 07:12:31

Good morning. North Leicestershire is chilly but bright.

We have to take the little car to the body shop today - wonder if they do grans too? Then I have lots of admin to do.

DGD1 has a 10 hour art GCSE today. She loves art and is very good (she is her mother's daughter) but has decided not to do it for A Level so feels no pressure really today.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Bellasnana Tue 22-Apr-25 07:09:49

A late good morning from Malta where a sunny day is forecast with a high of 24°C.

DD3 doesn’t go back to school until next Monday so I am becoming extremely idle as I’ve nothing pressing to get up for.

I ought to be getting lots of jobs done but, like RosesandL, I just feel constantly tired. I think I must have dozed most of the afternoon away yesterday and still slept like a log last night.

No plans for today, getting up will be the first challenge then I’ll see what transpires.😄

Wishing you all a good day.☀️

Redcar Tue 22-Apr-25 07:04:59

Good morning everyone from a sunny but chilly mid Essex. We had some very welcome rain yesterday afternoon so I’ll try to do some weeding this morning.
Yesterday morning my DD1 and her family took me to see my 99 year old godmother. She will be 100 in June and still lives alone. She’s very independent and is looking forward to her birthday party!
Nothing much planned for today but will visit my friend with dementia this afternoon.
Have the best day possible everyone.

Sar53 Tue 22-Apr-25 06:57:38

Good morning from my last day in Leamington. It is forecast to be sunny today unlike yesterday where we had a lot of rain.
We took the girls out during the afternoon just to get some fresh air.
I should be on the train by 10.30 and home by 14.00.
I have an eye infection which has spread down my cheek, it's very red and sore. I feel a visit to my doctor may be on the cards when I get home.
I shall miss the girls. S starts her new Biologics next week, just as her GCSE'S begin. I do hope they help.
C, at 13 is a typical teenager, but often comes and puts her arms around me.
E, at 9, will often say 'I do love you Nanny '. Priceless.
GG have a lovely holiday.
Best wishes to all xx

Good Morning Mick!
Have a goo day!

karmalady Tue 22-Apr-25 06:41:09

Good morning from s somerset, showers today, not dull fortunately

Lots of rain on the way home yesterday, it was very april-like, sun and showers. I was tired when I arrived home and had to stop myself from having more than a ten minute doze in my chair. It was a beautiful family day again, I love the way the dgc, teenagers, come to greet me and to chat, not a mobile in sight and they come to the door with me when I leave. Such a lovely family. All the dgc are busy studying for exams soon. They all have future aspirations, sandhurst reme and uni, engineering via a big business apprenticeship/uni and business law for the youngest. Nothing set in stone but it helps that they are focused. The last two are girls

I will, like Pantglas, be a domestic goddess for a short while this morning. I have a menu to prep for guests on thursday and lots of small glass lidded pots in the kitchen to sterilise today, ready for future potting of my creamy ferments

A few seeds to sow too and snails to deal with, lurking in containers holding fig pots steady. I see 3 figs, getting larger by the day, the two plants are in their second year with me. My first ever figs

Have a good day

Blossoming Tue 22-Apr-25 06:40:38

Good morning everyone from sunny Lancashire. The sky is currently blue, but it’s quite chilly and the forecast is cloudy.

We have nothing much planned for today, will catch up on some admin.

Have a good day, whatever you’re doing. Thoughts with those going through difficult times 🌹

Kalu Tue 22-Apr-25 06:31:29

Good morning all. It’s wet outside in Glasgow with a crimson sunrise which doesn’t bode well for a pleasant day, it’s chilly too but who knows what’s ahead as the day unfolds.

I was happy to have a quiet day yesterday doing this and that plus a long FaceTime catch up with both DDs.
A few bits of admin which shouldn’t take long then out in the afternoon to a nearby large shopping mall on the hunt for cushions in TKMaxx for good quality but at a lower price.

Best wishes to all for a pleasant day and some respite for those with illness or other difficulties whatever they may be.

baubles Tue 22-Apr-25 06:28:49

Good morning from South Lanarkshire. No rain at the moment but if yesterday is anything to go by it won’t be far away.

Lucky you, they are fascinating little creatures Pantglass.

Happy holiday GG.

We bought a ‘mystery’ climbing rose yesterday. The label was missing so the colour of the flowers will be a surprise.

Charity shop today, Tuesdays come round so quickly.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Ashcombe Tue 22-Apr-25 06:28:07

Good morning from a bright looking Torbay.

In many areas the youngsters go back to school today, including in Cheshire where my DGS2 and DGD live but my DD2 has another week as, yet again, neighbouring Staffs has a different holiday pattern.

The play was very good with two news actors to Toads playing the leads and they delivered first rate performances, creating very believable characters. We were pleased to compliment them in the bar afterwards.

henetha mentioned visiting Torquay yesterday and finding it busy. We called in at M & S for a Click & Collect, only to be told that their internet was down so few systems were working! DH had the bright idea of finding what I’d ordered and buying it then letting the original order lapse for which I’ll be refunded. He is a useful chap at times…! Traffic was building as we left so our timing was good.

Thinking of all those who are unwell and hoping today brings some healing. 🦩💐🦩🥰🦩

RosesandLilac Tue 22-Apr-25 06:24:25

Good morning from south Glos, a pale blue sky as the day dawns.
After a lovely time having DS, DDIL and the DGSs here I was absolutely exhausted. I honestly don’t know why. I went to bed mid afternoon, I felt really drained 🤷🏼‍♀️
Today I have washing to do, hopefully it’ll dry on the line, but nothing else planned except the dog walks.
I will sit in the summerhouse with my book later, it’s my retreat!
Have a lovely day 🌹

GrannyGravy13 Tue 22-Apr-25 06:18:17

Good morning, just about to board plane for my flight to Malaga.

Have a good day folks 🙋‍♀️

grandMattie Tue 22-Apr-25 06:17:59

Good morning from a dry Bristol!
I have just lost a long post. (Phew, I hear you say!)
Yesterday was busy; Tesco in the morning, where many of the vegetables were inexplicably 25p, prepared piccalilli after lunch.
I then had a visit from DD, SiL and Iris to swap my bed. The new one has a foot board, which will stop my mattress from sliding down. This took the four of us a good hour. We then sat in the sun with tea, as I was too tired to be driven around and take a walk, bluebells notwithstanding.
Today, make piccalilli, call the Salvation Army to take the old bed, hang the washing out, have a visit from the chiropodist….
I hope this finds you in a good place. Hugs to those in need.
Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩.

Greyduster Tue 22-Apr-25 06:10:16

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. The sun will have his hat on in South Yorkshire by the look of things, but it’s cold. Yesterday it rained almost non-stop so I was confined to barracks apart from filling the car up with fuel, and a short walk at tea time. I watched a very interesting programme about the Notre Dame restoration last night. The new lead sheeting for the roof was made in Leicester. A fascinating process.
School volunteer session at school this afternoon. I’ll be walking there and back.
Hope your prickly friend stays around Pantglas!
Have the best day you can folks.

Pantglas2 Tue 22-Apr-25 05:45:46

Good morning Mick - I’ve just seen a hedgehog in my garden! I heard rustling in the lean to whilst enjoying my ☕️ under the trees and there he was🤗 - a proper plump specimen I’ve named Harry (cos he’s prickly…🤣).

Can’t wait for Mr PG to wake up (he’ll then proceed to give me chapter and verse on their lifespan, habitat, feeding and sleeping habits…🥱)

A domestic goddessing morning for me flitting around with duster, vacuum and mop before meeting two friends for lunch and a “fillum” some of you have already seen, Mr Burton.

I shall pop in this evening to see what delights you have in store…Happy 🦔 day 😉
