Good morning everyone from DD1s house in Cambridge, it looks a bit cloudy outside
Lovely pictures from the cruisers, hoping everyone on holiday has a lovely time
We arrived here yesterday early evening, DH and I had enjoyed a lovely day in London, we got the Uber boat along the Thames to Greenwich where we had a look around the Cutty Sark and the observatory, it was all very interesting. Not sure what we’re doing today, the DGS have football, cycling and swimming- they’re a very active family and it’s hard to keep up!
A very Happy Birthday to Llfl enjoy your day today 🥰🎂❤️
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Good morning from a dull and cloudy Black Country.

We are off later this morning to Bristol, where we will stay overnight at MrJ's DD's house. Then down to Burnham to the caravan. Then off to Lyme Regis on Monday, where weather is forecast sunny!

Happy birthday LLFL flowers

Good morning from mid Essex, where it feels cool. It’s dry and cloudy at the moment. Yesterday it stayed grey for most of the day and looks as though it may stay that way today. A long wait in the pharmacy yesterday while the staff located my prescription form and then dispensed some of it. I have to go back early next week to collect the missing tablets.
Weeded a small patch of the front garden and will try to do more today. I had a phone call from a friend and have arranged to meet her at Hyde Hall next week. I haven’t seen her since before my hip operation in November, although we speak regularly on the phone.
Nothing much planned for today, I don’t think either of my DDs will come over today, they’re usually busy on Saturdays with children’s activities.
blue and glammagran loving your photos of the cruise.
ash your cruise sounds good, pleased you’re relaxing on board.
I hope that gingster’s DH continues to make good progress.
Happy Birthday llfl, your mosaic class sounds a fun thing to do!

Have the best day possible everyone.

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 8° and raining. BlueSapphire and Glammagran these are lovely photos. I, too, would have loved to visit Troy. Ladyleftfieldlover a very happy birthday to you. Ash I love Germany but have only been in the north. I hope you enjoy the rest of your cruise.
Yesterday DD nipped in to borrow my KitchenAid. Then I went to town to meet a friend for coffee and sympathy. She's having difficulty with her parents and her brother. I definitely sympathised! In the afternoon I pottered about for a while then watched Charleston Heston in The Ten Commandments. I enjoy an epic.
Today I'm meeting a friend for second breakfast at the garden centre. We will put the world to rights and I'll drive her home.
I hope to get to Aldi first to stock up. Then some housework this afternoon. Otherwise, a quiet day. Enjoy your day all.

Good morning from a sunny Essex coast.
Shopping and coffee this morning.
Late afternoon my team are playing at Wembley. I'm very excited and hoping for a good result.
Good to hear the news from FGT and Gingster yesterday.
Have a good day everyone xx

Good morning from Shropshire.A mixed forecast today.

Our visit to mum went well yesterday. She is very frail now and so tiny.DGD had taken snakes and ladders to play with her which she managed for one or two games. We then took her out for a walk in the wheelchair but she fell asleep but all in all a good visit.

We had a good lunch at Cheshire Oaks and looked at a couple of shops only as DGD suddenly spiked a high temperature and felt quite unwell.

A change of plans today as DGD didn’t come home with us.I will take the Easter decorations down and probably watch the Pope’s funeral.

I hope Gingster and her DH were reassured by the district nurses visit and that Marydoll is feeling better.

The cruises sound wonderful.

Have the best day you can everyone🌻🦩

Good morning from sunny Lancashire.

Nothing much planned for today, we have been going out for a walk with my wheelchair after lunch for the last 3 days and I really enjoy getting some fresh air and sunshine. Weather permitting we will do that again today. The railway museum has an historic engine running today so I’m hoping to get a few photos.

Happy Saturday everyone 🌹

Good morning from a dull N. Bucks. Brighter weather to come
Sister in Law left yesterday, she enjoyed her stay. We visited a local museum , had lunch out, did some crafting and lots of chat.
Yesterday afternoon I went to buy a few perennials for the empty pots in the garden and have bought a wisteria which I hope will grow over the pergola. I’ll weed and tidy in the garden today while DH helps DD2 with some DIY jobs at her house. Tomorrow will be a joint effort to do the planting.
A quick food shop first and later an on line art class.
Wishing all a good day especially all who are struggling in any way.

RosesandLilac Sat 26-Apr-25 07:13:38

Good morning from south Glos, the sky is dull and grey at the moment, I hope it brightens up.
I had a lovely morning at art group yesterday, I really need to do more at home but I get fidgety and am a master of procrastination so nothing gets started 😵‍💫
I bathed tiddler after our afternoon walk, she’s got a shining coat and gleams in the sunlight 😊 Bigger dog looks askance at me - there’s no way I could lift her into the bath now! Luckily she’s a very clean dog, never gets the doggy smell for some reason, so she’s spared.
Today I would like to do the airfield walk, I will see if DH wants to come too. If he doesn’t I might try taking them both alone.
Besides that I have some chores to get done in the garden.
Enjoy the weekend 🌹

Good morning from Germany! We are cruising up the Elbe towards our first port of call, Hamburg, in bright sunshine.

Beautiful photos, glammagran!

Pleased to read positive news about husbands of FGT and Gingster.

We are having a wonderful relaxing time on board Balmoral (yes, it is one of Fred Olsen’s ships, madeleine45) and have met some interesting people.
My wheelchair, hired from Mobility at Sea, was duly delivered to the terminal Southampton and was put to good use for check in and boarding. We shall use it again today for the walk from the ship to the coach for a tour of the city but I shall manage with my trusty stick for the limited walking as part of the excursion.

Happy weekend, everyone! 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩

Morning all from West Oxfordshire.

I slept well last night. I took a couple of painkillers to ease my back which was quite painful after pulling a muscle on Thursday.

It is my 72nd birthday today! I am off early to a workshop on mosaics. It is a whole day thing so I have packed a lunch for myself. I should be home around 6 pm and OH and I will have dinner at a favourite restaurant 10 minutes drive away.

OH has lined up two or three football matches to watch while I’m out!

Have a good day.

Grammaretto Sat 26-Apr-25 06:49:06

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. A pleasant start.

My shift at the community store was long and tiring. My colleague is on holiday so there was more to do. Luckily 2 DofE youngsters took over from me after 4 hours.

I had a few tricky orders to deal with and a customer fell over the steps but insisted he was fine.
I napped in the afternoon and went to a storytelling club in the evening. It was excellent. I read one of my DGS poems.

I baked a cake very late last night so
that I don't have to do it this
morning. I shall pick flowers from the garden.

Glammagran The Gallipoli memorial, looking so tranquil in its setting, reminds me of the exhibition I went to in NZ last year, showing the horrors where so many of their young men lost their lives.

I was glad to hear FGT good news and that Mr Gingster is home and recovering.

Hope all goes well for everyone today.

cornergran Sat 26-Apr-25 06:43:21

Morning Mick , morning All from a brightening corner of Somerset.

Enjoyed volunteering yesterday. Made some progress sorting issues and will hopefully finish today. Snap greyd, what is it about that time of the morning?

That sounds a very busy cruise, thank you both for the photos. .
Wishing you all the best day it can be.

karmalady Sat 26-Apr-25 06:31:49

Good morning from s somerset, looks dry right now, I am hoping for some showers

Very busy yesterday, not manic just busy. Blackcurrant jam made first, my favourite jam. All jars popped so it will keep for a long time

Allotment for the rest of the morning and I met the neighbours, a very nice friendly couple in their 60s. We had a nice chat. Home at 1.15, lunch and the post came with a seed tape of parsnips, the forecast said rain last night so I needed to go back and get that down in the soil and also make a cage to keep nosy birds off. All finished by 5

No rain in the night so it looks as though I will need to go and water those tapes every day from this afternoon as the soil is very dry. I am not doing anything in the house today but will be lighting a candle and watching the funeral this morning

4 books arrived from world of books and I will start to read conclave this afternoon. The day starts with me enjoying a real large pain au chocolat with a very big mug of tea in a china mug which makes it always taste wonderful

Have a good day

glammagran Sat 26-Apr-25 06:15:44

I lost my post when I attached photos so have posted them separately. First is the Gallipoli memorial and second is the library at Ephesus.

Greyduster Sat 26-Apr-25 06:13:57

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a cloudy, cool South Yorkshire. Going to be overcast all day, so I may take the opportunity to wash my car but I was awake at sometime between three and four this morning so maybe I’ll be fast asleep by lunchtime!!
I envy you that excursion to Troy, Blue - something I’ve always wanted to do.
Have the best day you can, folks.

glammagran Sat 26-Apr-25 06:12:40

A hectic few days on board the Spirit of Discovery with back to back tours for 5 days running.

Internet access has been virtually non existent for the past few days which Reception on board said was due to Turkey interfering with the Starlink transmission which the ship uses and why we haven’t been able to post.

Yesterday we were in Çanakkale which is located in the Dardanelle straits leading to the Marmara Sea where the earthquakes occurred on Wednesday. We went past the large Gallipoli memorial when we left port. Yesterday marked the 110th anniversary of the Gallipoli campaign. Princess Anne attended the commemoration here in Çanakkale.

Delighted that FGT and her husband have received good news and Gingster's husband is back home.

Enjoy the heatwave to come everyone. It will probably be warmer than the Med.

BlueSapphire Sat 26-Apr-25 06:06:04

Good morning everyone from a very calm and still morning anchored just off Mykonos.

It's been a busy few days with excursions to Corinth, Ephesus, Izmir and yesterday to Troy, which I was most excited about; to see the ruins if perhaps the ancient city and imagine as the scene of the great legends.

Today should be good as well; I am visiting a vineyard on Mykonos, and looking forward to a wine tasting.

Have seen Glammagran only fleetingly - we have both been so busy doing different things, but try and have a catch-up whenever we can!

Pictures are of Mykonos, a replica wooden horse, and ruins at Troy

Good morning from the Midlands. It's going to be a mixed day weather wise. A day to be spent tidying the garden which has been a bit neglected this year. It is a chore now. Later on my new book to start and a curry for dinner.

grandMattie Sat 26-Apr-25 05:29:45

Good morning from an overcast Bristol. The birds are singing their little hearts out.
Yesterday was as busy as I had expected.
The Spanish class was good; we have a new student, a retired GP. He’s pretty good.
A very quick lunch, bus to the EE shop, where I was able to go to the shopping centre and get my glasses straightened and order my second par before meeting DD.
We then spent an hour with them trying to understand why I was getting “no service” and how to remedy it. It seems that a major cockup has occurred, no one is willing to tell me why, but I’m hoping that service will be restored soon.
Rushed back home for the hairdresser; the three of us had our hair cut.
I was wiped out by this time, had a quick dinner of salmon and vegetables, then went to bed early.
Today, I’ve got my Covid booster first thing, then church coffee if I decide to go.
I hope this finds everyone fine fettle, free of anxiety or sorrow.
Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩
