Good Morning Friday 2nd May 2025

Good morning everyone from a still dark Atlantic Ocean somewhere off the Portuguese coast. It's feeling a bit bouncy, but I have just made a mug of tea without any problems.

Yesterday in Malaga it started off misty, chilly and damp, but by afternoon we were in 🌞🌞!
I cancelled another excursion as I still didn't feel well enough, so had a quiet day on board; I went to the medical centre and was checked over and it seems to be nothing more than a chesty cough, and came away armed with a bottle of cough medicine. I also demolished a lunch of scamp and chips and 🍷 on the pool deck, followed by an icecream from the serve-yourself ice-cream machine!

We now have three sea days before arriving back in Portsmouth on Monday, so will try to make the most of them. A curry lunch features today and the highlight of the day will surely be the very popular Crew Show, showcasing the talents of the mainly Philippino crew.

A very good show last night from the young Showcast, a group of about eight young singers and dancers, who performed songs from the 'Swing' era, so Sinatra, Bobby Darin etc.

A quiet morning hopefully then school pick up.The children are coming back here for a sleepover.DD1 will be travelling home from her conference late afternoon.DD2 is travelling to Calais on an aid trip late afternoon.The second time she has done this.I will be relieved when she is home.

Hoping the Gingsters appointment went well yesterday and that Marydoll’s phone consultations gave some hope for treatment.

I have to take DH to pick up his car first thing, then back here for 10am gym.

We have The Imp here for dinner later, he has requested chicken wings, so that’s his dinner sorted 💙

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 5° and sunny. Blue skies above. Mick a very happy birthday to you.
Yesterday I did a couple of hours in the school library. I bumped into both dgss at various times. Dgs1 was really affectionate and gave me cuddles whilst dgs2 wanted to know if I was being messy in the library and having to tidy it up. 😂 Back home, I lay on the bed to read and fell asleep for two hours.
Last night I had a very poor sleep because of the lengthy nap and very painful feet. I eventually got up for painkillers which took a while to work. Today I'm going to the garden centre with dd. She wants to buy plants but doesn't have a clue what to get. We'll have a free coffee while there as I have a loyalty card. Later on, I'll do a bit of gardening. Dinner might be something from the garden centre which has a very nice delicatessen. Have a good day all

Yesterday was so warm hitting 28 degrees here. I had a sudden urge to start clearing the loft out and DH took a car full to the local tip. I then went to have my hair cut and coloured and called into M & S on route which had pretty empty food shelves. I did buy two tops for my holiday.

Today Ocado are coming and a chat with a friend on the phone who lives many miles away. No school pick up today as DD2 worked the night shift so will collect them when she wakes later. I’m hoping for another day enjoying my garden.

Good morning, it’s a sunny hillside in south Glos and it looks like it’s rained as the patio is wet👏
Off shortly for the dog walk with tiddler, Annie has her dog walker this morning. We’ll probably do yesterday’s walk the other way around, about 3 miles.
I have art group this morning but a quiet day otherwise.

Good morning from s somerset, we had rain during the night and today will be pleasantly warm and sunny

Typical pottering for me yesterday, a rest day, I did enjoy the day. especially sitting on my bench with birds singing and water flowing in my pagoda water feature which is nestled among the greenery but clear above for the sun to hit the solar panel.

I have a garden like a magical fairy glen with lots of stepping stones and various beautiful ground cover instead of grass, Full of varying heights with lots of fruit and roses and a tall crabapple in the corner with a shiny green low chair below, from Haiti, made from beaten re-shaped oil drums

I need to put some troughs back in my garage overnight soon, it will be worth the effort, considerably cooler overnight and we aren`t out of the woods yet. I have small begonia tubers in them, just starting to sprout. I regard `work` such as the trough-lifting as muscle exercise

Today I am expecting my organic delivery, luckily it arrives very early and I can wash all the salad veg and fruit before I put it away in the fridge. I will put a salad meal together for lunch and cycle to my plot this morning.

I have one bed to uncover and clear of weeds, they are mostly one type of weed and pop up from tiny bits of root underground. I will be doing this routinely until july, hoping to weaken those weeds enough for me to sow a green cover crop, I need to kneel and dig each one out to remove, they would take over if I took my eye off the ball

It is our granddaughter’s 9th birthday today. We will see them tomorrow when they come for the weekend.

I have food shopping to do today and I may get the hoover out. The ceanothus in the garden is beautiful but is now malting petals everywhere. The cats walk in it and then wander through the house dropping petals everywhere!

OH is playing croquet with the U3A and then visiting his bees again. He is resigned to one of his hives not surviving but the others are doing well.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs, and a Very Happy Birthday to you, Mick🎂🍺🎈. A cloudy start today in South Yorkshire; not sure if we had rain overnight - I hope so.
I had a very quiet day yesterday to try and shake off whatever had felled me overnight. It was too hot to do much outside but I got a few small jobs done in the garden. When it cooled down about six, I had a short walk in the cool green lanes.
School volunteering this afternoon.

Another lovely day on the cards here in north 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 - I love the fact that I can leave the garden seat cushions out overnight just like I did in Mi Casa in Spain 🤗

Hope the cardiologist has good news for you Roses- I’m sure the walking you enjoy will have been hugely beneficial x. It’s the reason I trot a few miles most days - our stunning scenery and wildlife being the bonus of course.

Window cleaning today as the sun 🌞 shows every smudge, smear and 🪰 poo 🤮and Mr PG kindly Karchered the exteriors yesterday then pointed out my dereliction of duty…

My plans yesterday changed as my friend messaged to ask me to meet for coffee. I never say no because then people stop asking, but I thought I’d quickly clean my front windows first.
Unfortunately, my Karcher decided to die so the result wasn’t as good without it.

However, when I got home, I found a YouTube video which showed me how to fix it so I haven’t had to consign it to the bin! I was so pleased as it has been a godsend.

The boys visited in the late afternoon which was lovely. My son was here so they were very happy to see their uncle.

Back to childcare today after yesterday’s day off,
