Good morning from a sunny Redditch where we arrived yesterday after a delightful stop in Stamford.

DH and I had lunch at the George there more than 20 years ago so dear friend and I went there….still as elegant as ever. We had a delicious lunch and a glass of Picpoul,my favourite white wine at present.

Off to breakfast shortly and then to Kidderminster for a ride on a steam train. Hope today is a good one for all.

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 8° and sunny. Ash I'm so glad that you are getting better mobility. Redcar well done on starting to clear out. Little and often is my motto. Susan enjoy lunch and the theatre.
Yesterday DD and I went to the garden centre. We had free coffee courtesy of my loyalty card and not so free rolls on sausages. However they were delicious. Then a pleasant time wandering among the plants. Dd picked four shrubs for the new bed in her front garden while I bought a birthday present for a friend. In the afternoon I did a wash and hung it out and pottered about. Dd messaged me at bedtime to tell me Dsil had gone to hospital as he's hurt his eye at work and it was getting very swollen and painful. He only returned this morning at seven and still hadn't been seen! Seven hours waiting. He's now off to work again. Apparently he dozed off and on but needs to go to work as he's the only one in.
Today I'll go to Aldi for food then change the sheets and duvet cover and get them hung out. Polishing and hoovering and cleaning the bathroom is on the agenda. Later, I'm supposed to be watching the boys for a couple of hours while dd and Dsil take his parents out for a thank you dinner. I'm not sure if that will happen, given his eye problem and tiredness. I think I'll have a salad for dinner. This weather feels like salad weather. Anyway, have a good day all.

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s sunny again which is lovely and Alexa says it’ll be 18°C later. It will be very busy here later as it’s the first Saturday of the month and an artisanal market is held. I rarely go but it’s very popular and all the cafe bars are full from mid morning onwards.

We’ve been invited to a hot buffet at teatime over at younger daughter and son in law’s. We will pick up my stepfather (grandpa) and our Yorkshire Lass, her husband, my brother in law and his wife are all coming. It’s Himself’s birthday next week but as we will be in Spain, a party has been planned for today. There will be fizz and cake, the joy the grandchildren generate and we are really looking forward to it all.

My nails done yesterday in ‘ketchup’. I was going to have French again but I’ve decided to have that done every other appointment. I enjoy a pop of colour now and again (especially for a holiday!).

Morning, it was sunny, now clouded over, slightly cooler today. I agree on the hosepipe ban llfl no rain forecast at all here in S Hampshire.
MrJ, son and grandson played golf yesterday, they’ll do it again, Tesco delivered and our local was busy in the evening.
My daughter is hosting a bbq today, so no cooking for me, it’ll be the one meal today for us.
Said daughter was at our favourite beach last night, she sent this picture.
Enjoy your day all
Happy Birthday Nannytopsy 🎂🥳🥂

Morning Mick, morning All. A sunny day forecast for our corner of Somerset

The washing machine needs to do its stuff then I think we’ll head into town on the bus and try to make it to the sea front. A (more than unhelpful!) change of route means a lot more walking which may or may not be possible.

Have the best day you can everyone

Good morning from a sunny Torbay.

Yesterday, we shopped in Lidl which I managed without needing to sit down at all. The holiday must have done me good! On arriving home, I discovered that no digital receipt was showing on the app on my phone. Research revealed that Lidl was having problems with them but they’ve been resolved this morning.

Later, I had a blood test to check sodium and haemoglobin levels following my recent illness. Both are slightly lower than normal which is disappointing considering I have been eating well, particularly on the cruise, and using salt as instructed.

In the evening we enjoyed a social time in the bar at our theatre, where there was a low turnout despite the availability of half price drinks.

Happy Bank Holiday weekend and best wishes to the Gingsters and any others who have health issues. 🦩💐🦩🎈🦩

Good Morning from Durham. A much cooler day is forecast, only feeling the dizzy height of 10degrees. At least it’s dry.
Nails done yesterday and I managed an hour in Newcastle afterwards, although still limping.
As it’s BH, I’m meeting my Monday friend for coffee today instead, followed by a quick scoot around the M&S food hall.
DD2’s laundry to tackle, so she can take it home tomorrow.
So good to read that MD has discussed her deteriorating health with the professionals.

Best wishes to all. X

Good morning everyone and welcome to another day on the.good ship Discovery. It's very grey, but the sea is calm with a slight swell. Yesterday morning was very bouncy, but everything had settled down by late afternoon.

Had a very lazy day; missed breakfast, so just had late morning Danish pastries and cappuccino in the Living Room.

The curry lunch was delicious, then read for a while and went to the piano quartet afternoon concert. More reading, and a good dinner, with a bit of retail therapy thrown in! Bought a lovely wrap in the shop, which I thought would suit DD-out-law for her birthday.

Did not go to the crew show last night out of consideration to others as I thought my persistent coughing would cause too much disturbance, and I had also seen a few shows previously. Instead went to watch the young Showcast perform an evening of songs and dances from the movies. Sat with glammagran and her DH; tried to chat but it was too noisy!

I think it will be more of the same today, ending with our final formal night. Tomorrow - packing which I'm trying hard not to think too much about......

Wishing all of you a very good day.

Good morning everyone. It’s sunny here in mid Essex and a pleasant 10 degrees outside. Yesterday morning’s usual 20 minute walk took me an hour and a half, because on my way home I met a neighbour who invited me to have coffee with her. It was a pleasant start to the day! After that I carried on with the garage clearance, emptying the drawers on a huge chest of drawers, all full of ancient stuff. I cleared two small drawers and started on a large drawer.
Today will be more of the same but there’s one drawer that is jammed shut, so that will be a job for tomorrow when the family arrives.
susan56 enjoy your lunch and the theatre.
karma I hope you enjoyed your buttery croissant! It reminded me that I have some in the freezer which need to be eaten.
Have the best day possible everyone.

A quick local shop first thing, then a day of pottering and hopefully finish my book.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. The sun is up in South Yorkshire and it promises to be a warm day. There was a welcome edge to the breeze yesterday. Our neighbour group is having a get together this afternoon. I made the sponge bases for two strawberry flans yesterday and will finish them later this morning. It’s an opportunity for six families to get together and shake off the winter when we don’t see much of each other. It will also be an opportunity for us to get to know the new family who moved in just before Christmas a little better. They have two young children.
I’m missing my sparrows this year, which we usually get in the garden in good numbers. Since the hedge behind the garden wall was decimated last year, they seem, not surprisingly, to have gone awol.
Have the best day you can, folks.

Morning all from West Oxfordshire.

Elder son and his family will be arriving some time this afternoon so I need to sort out their rooms. I have made up a meal plan and son said he would do a barbecue tomorrow. I think the weather will be cooler tomorrow but rain isn’t forecast for a while.

The garden is looking beautiful at the moment but we’re having to water it by hand. I have a feeling there will be a hosepipe ban before long.

Have a good day everyone.

Good morning Mick and all from lovely north Wales where I’m about to partake of the chamberpot of tea that wakes me properly 🫨

We have a trot on the bus to Conwy planned for later this morning where on the quayside a marquee with lots of stalls selling niche crafts, foodstuffs etc will be perused for a scoff on the hoof…😋

Hope those with worries have an easier time and at least the weather is clement 🥰

Good morning from s somerset, lovely weather already, the sun is coming up and will not be as intense

Yesterday I spent the whole day outside, it is very grounding and peaceful. Allotment during the morning and a lovely chat with an allotment neighbour. Home garden all afternoon, planting, potting and of course sitting while the water fell and splashed

Apple blossom is falling and has produced many fruits, I did not see many bees this year but the few I had have been intensely busy

I had been intending to do some kitchen cleaning today, base boards and the like but instead I want to cycle back to the allotment and start to clear a long strip now covered with black plastic. For my special bee friendly plants

I want to be planting them in a few weeks and they will remain in situ for very many years. I split and potted 20 yesterday after thinking about our valuable bees, which need help fast. I had already put 30 on the allotment and some have started to flower

Their roots grow metres down and they pull up the minerals we need in food. They have beautiful flowers beloved by bees and they provide plant material with the best nutrients, better than cow manure. They don`t produce seeds and are never a nuisance

So that is my day planned but first I am going to warm up a beautiful big butter croissant as it is the start of the weekend

Have a good day

Good morning from Malta where a high of 30°C is forecast.

Had a good day with the boys yesterday, they are at such a lovely age .

Watched the tennis semifinals from Madrid and am very happy to see the British Jack Draper heading into the final on Sunday. He’s really good and I hope he wins it.🤞🏻 🇬🇧

Today I need to get started on painting my front terrace but I’ll need to get going before the sun hits it. It’s another scorcher today.

Wishing a good day to you all.☀️

RosesandLilac Sat 03-May-25 05:40:10

Good morning Mick, it’s a cool start to Saturday here in south Glos.
I had a lovely early dog walk yesterday but it was quite muggy by 7.30 so I was glad tiddler and I had gone out early. I enjoyed as usual the Friday morning art group, I was actually pleased with my attempts for once!
In the afternoon I sorted out the raised planter outside my summerhouse, the bulbs had finished flowering so I have taken them out and will fill it with summer bedding plants. A delivery of hanging basket plants late afternoon dictates what I am doing today- I’m looking forward to that!
I bathed tiddler yesterday evening, she’s sparking clean now 😀 When she was rescued she had a horrific skin condition that hadn’t been treated so, although everything has cleared, she has a regular medicated bath to keep things that way.
We’ll walk the dogs across fields and through the BlueBelle woods first thing, one of my favourite places at the moment.
Have a lovely day 🌹

Good morning from another clear sky Ed Bristol. A lovely day in prospect, though with much lower temperatures.
My”quiet” day yesterday was anything but! I seemed to have been a whirlwind. I scrubbed my bathroom floor; being nonslip, it seems not to be properly washed by the steamer or mop.
I changed and washed the towels. I went to the local garden shop to get replacement lobelias that the slugs have eaten and the squirrels uprooted. No luck.
I decided to make myself a pair of trousers, which I finished in the afternoon. This involved crawling on my hands and knees on the floor as I don’t have a surface large enough.
I sat out on the sun to handset the hems, etc., and was joined by four other residents.
Today? Almost as busy.
New glasses to collect, ditto prescription; church cleaning and coffee…
Have an enjoyable long weekend., free from sadness and pain. Carpe diem. 🦩🦩🦩🦩
