If any still has to visit Whitby these are my comments.
I arrived by train,so I saw the Abbey for the first time from the town.
Its better if you come in by public transport(or car) before you drop down into the town.
Use the bus that does the circular service is another good option.
A bit of Star trek info Captain Jame T Cook was schooled in the area although James T Kirk was captain of the star ship Enterprise and some if not all of the space shuttles were named after James T Cooks sailing ships. If I have got anything wrong please correct me.
Not forgetting that the Dracula story's were generated by the ship wreck after it had left Transylvania in Romania.

I love Whitby. I used to think it was over rated because we had a disappointing holiday there with the children. Last year we went with the grown up kids and their partners and had a brilliant time.
I like the sound of a sleepy sheepie!

It is years since we visited Whitby. I have very happy memories of our trips.

Absolutely adore Whitby - seafood and atmosphere - what more could you want?

Love Whitby, and lucky to live 40 minutes away from there

Whitby was long on my list of places to visit, we went for a few days in December one year, the days were short, and it was bitterly cold , I’d like to go back in the summer, but it’s about a seven hour drive.

I'm home tomorrow, the 4th and back at work on the 5th from 6am to 6pm.

I've had a brilliant week here on my self-birthday, had a glorious meal/drinks at the Fine Dine Indian Restaurant, sat at the pier overlooking the old Abbey scoffing fish and chips and bottles of Dr Pepper, went to some amazing shops.

Today I'll basically be doing the same but will visit the Abbey shop and will buy a Sleepy Sheepy Pillow for £20.00! It's actually for kids but I'm a big kid really that loves softies!

Yesterday I came out of a shop and tied up outside waiting for her mum to come out was a gorgeous Staffie, she's got beautiful soft dark brown fur and hypnotic eyes, her little tail was wagging so of course I just HAD to make a huge fuss of her!
