Good morning, yes it’s grey and cloudy here also Sar53 sorry you had a bad night, if you are anything like me everything seems so much worse in the middle of the night, I start worrying about things which aren’t relevant or even my worries 🤷‍♀️

Off to Chelmsford with DH this morning, we need new suitcases for our holiday. We both agreed that our current ones have a mind of their own and their wheels do exactly the opposite to what we ask, a bit like wonky shopping trolleys!

I will have a mooch round Boots and The White Company (along with any other shops I can sneak in before DH gets bored)

Sorry you are still off colour kalu

Your GS seems to be coming in leaps and bounds 👏👏

(((Hugs))) to all 🙋‍♀️

Good morning from a grey and nippy midlands. Off on holiday today for a few days.
Crocheting en route.
Have the best day that you can have. Hugs.

Morning Mick, morning All. Not looked out yet, the forecast is for a sunny day.

Thoroughly enjoyed yesterday. Five hours flew past. The world was thoroughly put to rights interspersed with much laughter. We’re off again today to visit a woodland garden. An annual trip to wander among huge rhododendron and azalea shrubs. It’s a peaceful, restful place if a bit of a journey with an inevitable muddle over the route. We’ve never been the same way twice. We’ll be tired tomorrow but it’s worth it. Appointments and ‘stuff’ needing doing will fill next week leaving little space for wandering.

Good luck keeping the convalescent quiet bellasnana. His idea of quiet and yours could well be different. Mr C says he understands how horrible blocked ears are greyd, very debilitating.

Have the best day you can everyone.

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 5° and sunny. Bellasnana I'm so glad your wee chap is on the mend. GrandMattie it sounds like you are taking things more gently.
Yesterday was a very quiet day as per your instructions! I had a delivery of sunglasses which have helped with the brightness. Lots of sitting about. I did go out to speak to my neighbour and we had a nice chat. Dgs1 won the 'jannies cup' for football. The janitor supervises them playing football before school, at break and at lunch time. Dgs1 is the youngest player but gets stuck in and tackles without fear much bigger boys. He was so chuffed to win the cup which he keeps til Friday.
Today will be more of the same. I can't really take advantage of the lovely weather because of the 'no lifting and bending ' rule, so I will have to be patient. Chorizo and pasta bake for dinner courtesy of dd. Dsil dropped it off last night. Have a good day all.

Good morning from Cambridgeshire where a cooler grey day is forecast.

I have my Pilates class this morning and then home to potter. DH has a big birthday looming so a few preparations for that to do and also we go away in a few days. The garden has been my priority and will be until we go. The baby robins are continuing to thrive.

Our neighbour at the bottom of our garden who was issued with a remedial order (by the Council) to cut down his very large leylandi tree has so far ignored it and our local council are progressing to Court action. However it looks like as nesting is in full flow we face another summer without sun in a large part of our garden 🙈 His garden is like sleeping beauty’s castle unbelievably awful much to all the neighbours dismay🤷‍♀️

Hoping everyone has a good Thursday and thinking of all those poorly and struggling 💐

Good Morning from Durham. A grey, cool and cloudy start, but hope it improves again later.
I have a day to myself, so I really must start to pack for my holiday. We go on Saturday.

Best wishes to all. X

Roses, I remember setting up my water diverter for my two tall water butts. It was pouring with rain and I was not going to miss it. I went out to my down pipe with a saw and tape measure, I still see the evidence of the wonky saw cut and I can see that annoying saw cut every day from my chair. It works and the butts do fill and I have forgotten about being soaked through

I hope you get to test yours soon

Good morning from s somerset, dry and sunny today, a pleasant day

Yesterday was quite busy, I decided I should go and put 20 baby plants on the plot after the rain on tuesday, they are home-reared deep rooted perennials for bees and eventually compost. I prefer my own made weed-free green manure, from these perennials.

Weeds are up again, I need to try and get the many perennial weeds off my plot, they are deeply embedded. I blink and they come up time after time from the smallest bit of root. My parsnip seeds and some other plants are not doing well and I have to work on soil health. It was a very neglected plot and it shows. Not much is growing well on my plot right now, goodness knows what was added in the past

Home all day today, I feel like doing a bit of wardrobe sorting and want a new midi skirt which I will make, not full at the hips, those days are over. Anything remotely `frumpy` is going and so are the garment toiles made in cheap fabrics. I will keep the `toast` look a-likes.

Kalu, I wish you a speedy recovery, back to full health

Have a good day

Good morning from a lovely sunny spot in south Glos, lots of sunshine today 😊
Tiddler’s trip to the dog field followed by the vet went well, she had an extremely expensive injection for her allergies 😵‍💫, she may only need the one (fingers crossed) but if it keeps her comfortable then that’s what matters most to me. It must be so uncomfortable for her, feeling itchy and sore if not kept on top of it.
DH spent the afternoon setting up the water butt for my Shed, I’m not convinced he’s done it right but we’ll have to wait for rain to find out…… I will be happy to have the water for my pots etc.
Today early dog walks, art group this afternoon, a few bits of housework to do and more time in my Shed.
I hope today goes well for you all 🌹

Greyduster. I eventually bought a syringe kit on Amazon to clear my ears myself. It’s so simple to use and the best buy for me. I agree, is does become depressing being half deaf when trying to talk to others.

Good morning all from the Black country.
Early start today DH is fishing because of roadworks he will need to divert to pick his friend up.
I have no plans as yet but will find something to do.
I see spammers are busy again.
Will catch up with everybody's happenings later enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans.
Thoughts with the FGTs ☀️

Good morning from a bright Bristol.
bellas, I’m pleased for you all that DGS2 is doing so well and that DGS1 seems content to be without his twin.
I had a very busy day yesterday concluding with a quiz in the evening. My team came a very respectable 5th, only 4 points behind the joint winners.
Not a lot on today.
All the best to the sad, in pain and anxious. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Kalu Thu 15-May-25 05:51:47

Good morning all. A sunny start today in Glasgow reaching a high of 23deg.

Still feeling under the weather as achy flu symptoms haven’t cleared yet so another day of taking it easy until I feel I’m on the mend. Nothing much I can do but just grin and bear it.
Thank you for your good wishes Blossoming

Belated happy birthday MD and many happy returns of the day🎂🎉

Best wishes for a good day with thoughts for those struggling on through difficult times.

Ashcombe Thu 15-May-25 05:48:56

Good morning from a bright but breezy Torbay.

DH reached home safely after his unplanned night in Le Mans and we are back into our usual routine of a daily Zoom call in the late afternoon to exchange our day's news.

Yesterday, Wednesday Club was entertained by an interesting talk from a member of Toads about his life as a cinema manager in the SW, back in the 50’s and 60’s. He had some fascinating anecdotes to share.

It’s pleasing to hear of Mr.Gingster's progress especially as it enables Gingster to go out more. I hope we hear from madaleine45 soon and other absent contributors. Good luck with the care of your post operative DGS, Bellasnana!

Well wishes to those who've been unwell or recovering from treatment. 🦩💐🦩🥰🦩

Sar53 Thu 15-May-25 05:48:21

Good, very early morning from the Essex coast where it is grey and cloudy.
I've had a dreadful night and eventually decided to get up and read. I seem to get anxious over every little thing at the moment.
Food shopping this morning and a relaxing afternoon beckons.
I hope you all have a good day with some sunshine xx

Bellasnana Thu 15-May-25 05:44:11

Good morning from Malta where it’s raining with thunder and lightning thrown in! A gloomy looking day with a high of 22°C.

Apologies for missing your birthday Marydoll, I hope you had a splendid day.🥳

DGS2 was on good form yesterday despite being a bit sore. Trying to keep him from jumping, running about and riding his bike or toy cars is proving difficult! He has a week of taking it easy so it’s going to be a challenge.

DGS1 was very happy to have his brother and mum back but still went off to nursery by himself happy as a clam!😄

I’m just off to look after them. No nursery today.

I’ll be meeting a friend when I am free this afternoon so I hope this weather improves.

Thinking of you all, I passed on your good wishes for DGS2 to DD3 and she was very touched by your kindness as am I.☀️

Greyduster Thu 15-May-25 05:42:25

Good morning Michael and all GNs. Dreary at the moment in South Yorkshire but promises to be better later. I made an appointment yesterday to have my ears cleared of wax, but it can’t be done until next week so I am going to be almost completely deaf until then. It’s quite depressing. I struggled at writers group yesterday and am supposed to be going walking today but with conversation almost impossible I wonder if it’s worth it. Still, folk have bigger problems to deal with.
Have the best day you can folks.

Michael12 Thu 15-May-25 05:23:12
