Morning all, just! Cloudy and chilly here on the Suffolk coast- bedding wash postponed until tomorrow
.
Thoughts to FGT and Himself and anyone else with worries, concerns, sending hope that all will be well in the end.
Have as good a day as you can folks, my cleaner/s are here at present- one thing I decided to keep paying for even after I retired was a cleaner- its a job I hate. I'd rather wash and iron for days, than clean my house!

Good morning from lovely Corfu. Now with Dsister, DD and DS. Flight was delayed and DD had arranged to pick up a hire car in Corfu. They said they would be closed due to the delay (our villa is over an hour away), but thankfully they waited for her until 12.30
I had a voucher for a meal on the plane but no hot food as such, so ended up with a pot noodle thing…
Thoughts to FGT Gingster Kalu
nice news Bella and hope you all have a good day.
Good morning all from the Scottish Borders where it's sunny but I'm still cold in my sandals.
Yesterday's forth cruise to inchcolm Island was perfect. We saw plenty of puffins on the water and in the air. Their nest sites were blocked by shrieking gulls.
Afterwards we had delicious coffee and cake in S Queensferry and found a charity shop where my Chinese helper managed to find real Scottish souvenirs as almost everything in the shops are made in China!
Today she leaves 😔 and I have an appointment with my architect and a U3A talk later.
Sounds like you had a lovely birthday Marydoll
And your lunch with DGD sounds precious Stilllearning
My DGS has 2 more exams too and that's it! He leaves school forever.
Kalu sorry you are poorly. Sending hugs.
I'm glad the patients
including the little one have come through their surgery OK.
Have a good day everyone.
Good morning from South Lanarkshire, coldish but good forecast. I had a lovely lunch catch up with DGD1 yesterday which I really enjoyed. Two more weeks till exams and then finish for the summer. She and her sister both have jobs and a holiday organised, as I look around the world they are so fortunate and I am grateful for that.
I have a church meeting this morning so I’ll read everyone’s news when I come home but at mass will be thinking about all who need support just now. X
Good morning everyone from sunny Lancashire.
Good luck with the post op care, Bellasnana.
Kalu post-jab effects can be horrible and there’s not much you can do. As you say, you just have to wait it out. 🌹
I did wonder RosiesMaw 😂
So glad you enjoyed your birthday Marydoll, the tattoo made me smile.
Hoping to hear from FGT2 today.
Yesterday I had to pick up yet another prescription from Morrisons pharmacy. The surgery used to release them on the same day to save me making multiple trips. They seem to be using some kind of calendar based system now, as they come through in dribs and drabs. Never mind, the sun was out and I got a little more exercise.
MrB is off out on the motorbike this morning, so I am going to get on with some serious decluttering..
As always, my thoughts are with those under the weather or dealing with sorrow in their lives.
Wishing you all a happy Thursday 🌹♥️
Good morning. Hopefully the dull skies will turn blue as they did yesterday here in N. Bucks but no.
The Simon Reeves theatre evening was great. An interesting, articulate and inspiring man. Amusing too.
This morning I must get on with DD2s curtains which I didn’t even start yesterday. This afternoon I have sewing club. First though I need to find the embroidery that I want to carry on with. I took it last time but have no idea where I it !
Kind wishes for all struggling with illness or other issues. A good day wished for all.
A belated “Happy Birthday” Marydoll.
70 is the new 40. 💐
Another lovely day is promised so the first wash is on and I will look forward to outdoor free drying. Otherwise some gentle pottering and garden planning as my lovely gardener is taking me to buy plants tomorrow and I need to know what I want. DS, DDiL and dog promised for Saturday so will need to shop in preparation for that.
Glad Mdoll had such a good birthday and thinking of the FGTs.
Morning, the sun is breaking through cloud in S Hants, it will be cooler today than yesterday.
My dental appointment was as expected, more teeth to go at some point, we vaguely discussed implants, but both the cost and the procedure for this cowardly custard loom large.
They do bounce back Bellas quite remarkably, good to hear he’s fine.
Enjoy your new sofa brook
I hope that swelling has disappeared Gingster and is nothing.
Toenail painting and library later today for me, I’ve got new sandals to wear and scruffy toes won’t do!
🦩🦩
Good morning from a still sunny and warm Scotland.
Yesterday we spent the day at the coast and had lunch in a small cafe that had the most delicious food.
DD and SIL left me sitting on a bench watching the sea while they climbed to the clifftop and walked.
We returned to the cottage and had strawberries and cream and Champagne in the garden. The entertainment was two red squirrels, we think mother and kitten.
ISS was very visible again last night and SIL was out photographing it.
Haven't decided what we are doing today yet.
Have a good day.
Good morning Mick and all from sunny Carlisle.
Yesterday's dark clouds slowly lightened and drifted away over the morning, not a drop of rain fell!
I busied myself with a few cleaning jobs and the ironing then out in the now hot sun after lunch. I put in a lot of my bedding plants along with a lot of water, the ground is completely dry for several inches down so I went round the rest of the garden and gave my newish plantings a good soak.
My new bit for the outside tap connection arrived. Thankfully, it fits the tap end so I'll be trying the hose next.
Today, no gardening. A bit of a clean up in the kitchen and some admin and online research beckon.
I have a mystery...it had occurred to me that I hadn't seen a certain sweater for some time so I emptied my sweater drawers in search of it. Result...nowhere to be found! It's a quality wool one, hardly worn and I wouldn't have given it to a charity shop. They're always kept in these drawers, I haven't taken it away with me and so possibly left it behind, so where is it? I have/am racking my brains to no avail. Are my brain circuits finally failing, I don't think someone's come in just to burgle a sweater!
Well, I hope you all find something to enjoy today while this weather lasts, best wishes.
Good morning Mick and all. Another lovely morning on the Angus coast but accompanied by a cold east wind.
Yesterday was a satisfying day working my way down my To Do List with lots of breaks to appreciate the sunshine. Today is tai chi again and a small top-up shop followed - inevitably these days it seems - a doze in the sunshine somewhere 😉
I had a lovely chat with DGD1 yesterday evening. She seems to be settling in very happily to her new job and loving it. I'm so happy for her.
Have a lovely day everyone, and I hope all the rain dances are productive, but only during the night 😁
Good morning from a much cooler and fresher Black Country.
A gorgeous sunny day yesterday. I joined a group for a 5 mile walk from Wombourne. I went on the bus which dropped me off right by the meeting point. We had a BBQ last night as the weather was so warm.
Today I am meeting DS in Wolverhampton for lunch in his lunch break. So another trip on the bus. I try not to use the car if I can use public transport.
Wishing you all the best day possible. With special thoughts to the FGT's today
Good morning everyone from a very cloudy Northampton, no sun yet but it is promised later on. But it will be dry which is good as my gardener is coming today to give the garden some much needed TLC.
Hairdresser yesterday afternoon, and we are still working on my style as I am growing my very short pixie cut out. I am getting there, six months now...
DS is also popping in this morning to deliver a birthday present for me from his godmother who is one of my oldest friends; 53 years ago we met as teaching colleagues.
Also expecting a Sainsbury's delivery this morning to restock the cupboards.
Have a good day everyone.
Good morning everyone from a sunny Inverness, yesterday was gorgeous but with a cold wind
Pleased all went well Bellas and your little DGS is raring to go
Today we’re awaiting delivery of our new sofa, it’s been a while since I ordered it and I hope I still like it. We were doing a bit of furniture removal last night to create space, we’ve now even more stuff in the garage. I’ve no idea when we’ll get it all sorted but at least I can close the garage doors and forget all about it
Sar53, Kalu take it easy today 💐
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hoping today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐
Good morning from a chilly Suffolk from where the sun has disappeared for a day or two according to the forecast. Yesterday heralded it with a cold breeze.
I have my stretch class in just under a couple of hours and then I’m off to Norwich to meet a friend for lunch in a fish restaurant new to both of us. Our 2 lovely young cleaners will be here this afternoon so I shall return to a sparkling clean house.
Hope those feeling under the weather feel better as the day progresses and those with worries find comfort.
Good morning Mick and All from a cloudy but warming up day in South Bucks.
A belated Happy 70th Birthday to Marydoll. That topaz ring sounds lovely, what a great gift from your kind DH. Hope you have increased energy today.
Enjoy your day in Warwick Kitty. I worked in Warwick for a few years prior to getting married. I worked for the accountant who had Warwick Castle on his books. When Lord Brooke visited our offices to discuss his finances with my boss I asked if I could meet him. He had a handshake like a wet fish 🐠😏. This was before the days of the Castle being turned into an Amusement Park.
Good morning all and yes it’s a grey one.
Sar and GG I know just how you feel, anxiety heightens during the night and keeps us from sleep. I too am finding that I can cope day to day but any ‘little’ thing throws me off course.,🤯.
Dh had a swollen foot and leg yesterday. The physio said to keep an eye on it. It isn’t hot and he feels ok, so I’ll see how it is when he wakes up. Consequently not much sleep for me.😴.
I have a hair appointment this afternoon only for a dry trim so I won’t be out long. No bowls and no choir for me. I have to pick and choose when to go out but Dh is fine to be left for a short while. He actually enjoys it left without me ‘advising’ him what he should be doing.😂.
Take care all 🪴
Good morning from a cloudy W Kent. Off for a few days holiday, it’s a group trip and I hope I can cope as I am permanently deaf. I suspect we will be the oldest in the party.
Best wishes to all
Morning all from a dry West Oxfordshire.
I’m having a pedicure at the village salon this morning. I last had one in Sydney in February.
After lunch it is the U3A Art History group which I always look forward to.
Have a good day, especially the FGT2S who I believe have a hospital appointment today.
Good morning everyone from mid Essex. It’s grey here at the moment, but the sun may break through later. It’s a mild 11 degrees.
Finally posted my friend’s birthday card yesterday, met my neighbour on the way home and she came in for coffee and a catch up! The skip was taken away and I got the mower out and tidied up the grass where it had been. Pottered about in the garden for the rest of the day, planted dwarf bean seeds and repotted a few things in pots.
Today I’m at DD1s, keeping the dog company and collecting the granddaughters from after school club. I’ll give them dinner and keep them entertained until their parents get home from the office.
bellasnana good that your grandson has bounced back so well from his surgery, but it will be difficult to stop him from jumping around too much.
Thoughts are with all those with problems of any kind and hoping that things improve for you.
Have the best day possible everyone.
Good morning all from a grey North Leicestershire.
We had a great evening with our lovely neighbours yesterday but it did get chilly.
We are off to Warwick today to meet a couple of DH's fellow university friends and their wives. But first, a Sainsbury's delivery.
Have the best day possibly, everyone.
Good morning all from a sunny Glasgow, but only 2°C.
Belated birthday wishes to creativeness.🥰
Kalu, sending best wishes for a speedy recovery and that Mr Ginster continues to make progress.. GMB, I hope you are behaving!
Bella, you must be relieved to have your wee grandson safely home.
Thank you all for your good wishes yesterday. It was an enjoyable day, once I got the unsettling GP appointment out of the way. One of the questions asked by the hospital was, Is the patient aware they are on the cancer pathway?. Having that vocalised, threw me.
Hopefully, we are worrying about nothing.
The GP was struggling to cope with the new online system for urgent referrals and this normally gentle and calm man was becoming more and more frustrated and annoyed, compounded by me laughingly offering my expertise as a former IT co-ordinator. It was not appreciated! 🤣
Much to annoyance, he kept telling me that I looked so well. I told him that wasn't helping, given how unwell I felt. I needed sympathy and TLC.
He laughingly said that I would be even more annoyed if he called me old and decrepit and asked if I would settle for stylish.
That would be very acceptable, I replied 😉
DH and those in the waiting room were bemused, when the GP I came out laughing loudly.
Also, I was given a prescription for a steroid oral rinse, to try and dampen down the inflammation and pain in my mouth. He warned me not to swallow it, since I already had a dose of steroids on Thursday at the hospital.
Grannygravy, will understand why. 😉
Of course,as usual, the medication was hard to source. I may get it today.🙏
Visits from DD, DIL, Dollie , close friends and extremely thoughtful gifts. completed my joyful day.
DD, in addition to her other gifts made up a hamper of my favourite items, food and drink, including the mini prosecco I love, but couldn't source.
What made me tearful is that, DD, who has dyslexia and is dyspraxic had made a hamper from an old box, decorated with wrapping paper. It would have been so difficult for her. 💕
Apparently DD's husband had misunderstood the family joke that I had always wanted a Rennie Mackintosh rose tattoo on my ankle and was going to arrange this for my birthday. 🤣
Instead he gave me a beautiful R.M rose bracelet.😍
My treat to myself was an afternoon of lying, with the conservatory doors wide open, watching Turkish rubbish. I had no energy for anything else.
Another one here, who needs her ears syringed. I am deaf on one side. I couldn't bring myself to ask the GP for a referral yesterday (we have hubs here, which do it), since I had taken up so much of his time.
I may investigate the Amazon thing, Kalu.
We are expecting Babydoll and plan to visit the nursery at Lugton for DH's begonias. Some of the Glasgow grans are familiar with it.
A visit to the park, then an afternoon, playing in the garden.
Have a pleasant day folks and best wishes to all, who have mountains to climb.💐
