Morning all from West Oxfordshire. It looks like a sunny day.

After my pedicure yesterday I had a lazy day. I listened to a talk on Trafalgar Square and it was OH’s turn to cook dinner.

Next week daughter is 44 and elder son is 42 on the same day. It was my grandmother’s birthday too! I will pop into Oxford today and buy their presents. OH will visit his bees.

I hope all is well with the FGT2S.

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. 🌞 wall to wall 🌞

Beautiful peony Kalu
It will be a relief when you can hear again Greyduster

I was so busy with house things yesterday, (solicitor, architect, home report) I didn't go out anywhere except to water the greenhouse plants.
My volunteer shift at the community store this morning. I hope I'm not quite as busy as last week. My colleagues were both on holiday and I didn't get to sit down in 4 hours.

I am missing my Helper but I heard she's arrived in Ireland despite a last minute panic to print her boarding pass. My printer didn't oblige and Ryanair charges £55, I was told. She needed to have it stamped apparently all to do with new immigration rules

I know what you mean Bellasnanna about sharing the ups and downs of our daily lives. smile

I'm glad your wee boy is getting better. I hope that all with pain and worries have a better day.

Good morning. Hoping the weather is going to brighten up after being chilly and dull yesterday.
A few bits and pieces to sort this morning and a fruit cake to bake. This afternoon I’m accompanying DD2 as she chooses new kitchen units.
Refreshments at a nearby emporium afterwards.
Wishing all a good day.

Cossy Fri 16-May-25 07:45:19

Good morning all

Have a great Friday and a good weekend.

thanks

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s another lovely sunny day
Bellasnanna 💐
A very Happy Birthday to your DGS Ash they grow up so quickly!
I’m going to the gym this morning for an enjoyable dance class and then DH and I are going for a walk by the river. A bit of a drama with the new sofa yesterday, it’s gorgeous and just what I want but unfortunately arrived with 2 legs missing and clips too so it can’t be used yet. DH wasn’t too impressed when he had to retrieve the old sofa from the garage - it’s a good job we’d still got it!
A really beautiful peony Kalu happy memories ❤️
That happens quite often in our house too nannyjan with the heating 🙄
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Good morning all from a sunny Glasgow, where it is 3°C.

Glad you are feeling better, Kalu. I treated myself to a peony rose last week! Beautiful blooms await me I hope,

We had an exhausting day yesterday. Babydoll was running a slight temp, with a seriously snotty nose.. I eventually asked permission to give her Calpol.
She was so defiant uncooperative and extremely cross. absolutely refusing to go in her car seat, when we were trying to go to the plant nursery. We eventually gave up and went later.
I wasn't feeling my best, and Baby didn't know who or what she wanted, not a good scenario.

The nursery was so well stocked and every year, it expands into neighbouring fields.
However, I couldn't believe the cost of plants similar to the ones we have in the garden.
I have a penchant for ceramic planters, sundials and stone bird baths. On spotting a huge pot, I liked, DH said No!, when he saw me lusting after it. This was a word BabyD had been using all day. He is such a spoilsport, it was only £329. 🤣 However, I did pick up another strawberry pot. I already have four, but strawberries seem to be the only fruit, I can successfully grow! It looks as if I will have a bumper crop this year.

Baby was bemused by a toddler the same age, strapped into a huge Silver Cross pram, a family heirloom of the nursery owners. I had a mini version as a child, how I loved that pram. BabyD kept chattering away to her, she takes after her gran, but the toddler said nothing. I think she couldn't get a word in edgeways.
The owners were so kind and offered BabyD a drink, because it was very hot.
When I came to pay, the owner took another £5 off the bill, because we were regular customers.
On the way out, we picked up bedding plants they were giveing away. I always like a freebie!

Today, we are off on the train to Glasgow for my birthday lunch, a surprise from DH. He has never booked a restaurant in his life! Golf courses, yes, restaurants, no! 😁
It is a restaurant, which offers, small tasting plates, so that I can pick away. I become embarrassed eating out, when I don't eat much and waste food.
I picked up the steroid rinse for my mouth and I laughed when both the pharmacist and assistant warned me not to swallow it or I would experience a steroid rush! I explained that I had been well warned by my GP!
Hopefully, the prescription will give me some respite.

DH magnaminously has allowed me an hour's shopping. I really do not need anything.
Thats about all he can tolerate! I am in the process of another cull, this time, summer dresses. I tried on one the other day and I looked like someone from Little House on the Prairie.
However, TKMaxx may feature in my itinerary,
Where else can I cram in in an hour? I need to be selective. 😉

Wishing you all a pleasant day and best wishes for all, who are struggling.

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 5° and sunny. This dry and sunny weather reminds me of when I was studying for exams. It always seemed warm and sunny. Kalu such a beautiful flower, the peony. Baubles as Tony Hancock would say, "that's an armful!"
I hope Susan got on ok with her eye scan.
Yesterday I slightly overdid it in the morning and my eye wasn't happy, so the afternoon and evening were all about rest.
Today dd is taking me to the surgery to hand in a letter from the hospital but that will be the extent of my jaunt. Then it will be back to resting. I find it very boring and I'm not a patient person but needs must. Take care all

GrannyGravy13 Fri 16-May-25 07:36:51

Good morning, the 10 yr old is tucking into dippy eggs & soldiers before his 8am early school start. He was of course spoiled with his favourite dinner last night (steak, chips, mushrooms, coleslaw and cucumber)

We have his brother The Imp tonight, he has requested to go out for dinner (local Italian) so that’s our Friday evening sorted 😹

We had a successful shopping spree yesterday, cases purchased (extra one being delivered) DH got trousers and polo shirts I squeezed in some skincare products and makeup.

Will catch up with your news over coffee later 🙋‍♀️

NannyJan53 Fri 16-May-25 07:36:08

Good morning from a bright and sunny Black Country.

MrJ unbeknown to me put the heating on last night, and didn't switch it off! I wondered why I was so hot in the night. Came down this morning and saw the smart meter was showing over £1 than normal first thing. He said he thought I had switched it off, but I didn't know it was on smile

Lovely hour with DS for lunch yesterday in Wolverhampton in one of the Cafe Bar's that are appearing everywhere. This one is called Lupo Lounge. His eldest DGD1 is 21 in July and a party is in the planning. Apparently she wants as a gift from them personalised number plates!

Eye test this morning at Boots. This afternoon we are off to Birmingham on the train to see The Waterboys in Symphony Hall. Then an overnight stay in a Hotel nearby.

Hoping to hear from FGT today and that all is well

Wishing you all the best day possible.

EkwaNimitee Fri 16-May-25 07:34:53

Good morning Mick and everyone from sunny Carlisle. It's cool first thing in the mornings but will no doubt soon get a lot warmer.
Yesterday morning I pottered at little jobs including that rare event, getting to do some dusting! I find dust easy to ignore.
After lunch it was off to a U3A meeting where we had a very interesting speaker talking about the brain and how it functions, but not its diseases. I was intrigued to learn that whilst women have a certain language facility on both halves of the brain, men only have it on one side. I always thought women were the improved model!

Today, I must tackle some tedious admin then it's out in the garden, lots to do....plants to go in which will all need watering for days, no rain in sight.
I've started a new book, first read in 1991...once finished it will be on the charity pile, it won't get read a third time, time is running out on this aged person.

Do have the best possible day, everyone.

Gingster Fri 16-May-25 07:21:47

Good morning all and I hope it’s warmer than yesterday.it was decidedly chilly! 🥶.

Today we have a new mattress being delivered, 3 therapists arriving at the same time, Dd popping in and ds1 coming to get his dad to sign some papers. It’s all or nothing isn’t it!

DH’s swollen foot and leg had subsided yesterday morning so we didn’t phone the surgery, it did swell up a bit as the day wore on so we’ll see how it is today.

Thoughts with those who are struggling, one way or another 🙏

Redcar Fri 16-May-25 07:18:54

Good morning everyone. It’s sunny and cool here in mid Essex. Yesterday was grey and chilly (13 degrees) all day, despite the bbc weather app saying it was sunny and 18! Hopefully today won’t be as cold.
I was at DD1s yesterday keeping the dog company while DD and her DH were both in the office. Did a little cleaning for her and sorted out about four machine loads of dry washing, ready for them to put away.
My washing machine is churning away now, it should dry outside today. A food delivery later but otherwise a quiet day.

kalu I love your peony, such a pretty colour. I have a plant in the garden, which has been there since we moved here (or so it seems) but it has never produced more than one or two flowers! It usually rains as soon as the poor thing flowers! I’m glad you’re feeling better.
rosesandlilac I hope your back improves soon, back pain is so debilitating.
My thoughts are with all those who are suffering pain of any kind.
Have the best day you can everyone.

luluaugust Fri 16-May-25 07:16:22

Good morning from our overnight stop where the sun is shining. A very nice and ancient hotel/pub stop and a good meal meant an indifferent night but we will press on into Worcestershire today. I can’t resist an antique shop so a happy afternoon pottering around resulting in a pretty necklace.
Best wishes to all

kittylester Fri 16-May-25 06:48:21

Good morning all from a bright North Leicestershire.

Yesterday was a chilly, overcast day but our lunch with friends was great. It was, however, sad to see the health decline of a couple of them.

Today I have to go to the butchers, Waitrose, the egg farm and the laundrette to collect the ironing.

After school we are collecting Bertie, Persie and Wolfie and keeping them overnight as their parents are going out.

Ashcombe Fri 16-May-25 06:36:10

Good morning from a lovely bright and sunny day here in Torbay.

Your flowers include my favourite colours, grandMattie, and what a lovely peony, Kalu!
I hope the floods have subsided now, Bellasnana, and that your DGS2 continues to improve.
Backache is so debilitating , RosesandLilac, so I hope you soon feel some easing of the pain.

Today I hope to catch a bus a short way to collect my contact lenses from my optician’s then for a coffee somewhere. It’s several months since I travelled by bus on my own but I’m feeling so much better now.

My DGS2 is 15 today! I remember him being born so clearly. His Mum had continued working to see her Y6 pupils through Sats and, after the last test, her waters broke in the staff room!

Wishing everyone as good a day as possible. 🦩💐🦩🥰🦩

I’ve reported the Canadian post.

cornergran Fri 16-May-25 06:34:40

Morning Mick, morning All. Another fine, sunny day ahead for our corner of Somerset.

We enjoyed the tranquility of the gardens yesterday amongst huge trees and beautiful rhododendrons. Arriving by yet another route we came back more directly stopping for a snack lunch and to purchase new bedding with vouchers. It felt like free shopping. Always good. Sorted a billing issue with BT quite easily until I tried to change Mr C’s password, took an hour with much muttering. Why? Ask BT!

Volunteering this morning followed by a quiet afternoon with perhaps a short foray to Waitrose if the postie has collected a return to Amazon.

Have the best day you can everyone.

Good morning

I hope you all had a peaceful night and woke up feeling well-rested. As we get older, sleep can become more of a challenge—especially if snoring, fatigue, or interrupted rest are becoming a regular issue. I'm part of the team at CanadianCPAPEquipment.ca, where we help people across Canada get tested for sleep apnea right from the comfort of home, and find the right CPAP equipment if needed. If you or someone you love has been struggling with sleep, feel free to reach out or ask questions—we're always happy to help. Wishing everyone a bright and healthy day ahead!

Warm wishes,
– The Canadian CPAP Equipment Team

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire where it promises to be a fine warm day - rather different to yesterday when it was overcast and anything but warm. I’ve decided not to go into school until I have had my ears treated next week. At the moment hearing normal conversation is well nigh impossible and some of the children have very quiet reading voices. I shall go to the gym this morning and then I have plenty to keep me occupied around the house and garden.
Have the best day you can, folks.

Pantglas2 Fri 16-May-25 06:06:41

Good morning early birds, another beautiful day is promised- this weather never gets old, does it🌞

Belated birthday wishes 🥂 - I shall be joining Miss MD on 70 at the end of the year - 1955 must have been good hatchlings 🐣🐣…

Hope for good news on the health front on here…I shan’t post flower emoji as GM @nd Kalu have produced the real thing 🤗

My laburnum is slow to blossom this year (Bodnant is already in full bloom) but I’m off to sit under it now with my chamberpot ☕️ then a trot to the recycling centre later… exciting eh🤣

karmalady Fri 16-May-25 06:03:33

Good morning from s somerset, a lovely warm sunny day today

A quietly busy day for me yesterday. Morning I did the living room, slightly moved a few things and sorted some hobby things. Feels and looks good in there, with better energy flow and more open space.

Washing went out and dried, reliable weather for that at the moment. I have been thinking that I want a new skirt, longer, flowy, bias cut, back waist elastic. I cut one out yesterday afternoon, colourful viscose satin from stash

Organic veggies will be arriving soon, to put away. 24 large marigold plants arrived yesterday, that has to be a priority, I need to get them out so may need to go to the plot later and then the day is my own

Have a good day

Good morning from beautifully sunny South Lanarkshire.

Good to hear that you’re feeling better Kalu.

Yesterday was a day of pottering. It was cool in the morning so I got the ironing done. I had an appointment for blood tests, six vials and I’ve been left with a lovely bruise.
The afternoon was spent in the garden.

Childminding today, I do hope the weather is as lovely in the east.

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

Good morning all. A beautiful sunrise in Glasgow which is such a welcoming start to the day.

I felt much better yesterday as the day went on and by 5.00pm decided to do a quick Waitrose shop as supplies were getting low. Thank you for the get well wishes, they worked!

The photo is of a Peony shrub DH gave me for my 70th birthday. I love it, especially the shell pink blooms and the happy memories of that day.

An at home day today as we have another sunny day ahead and I will be busy enjoying hours in the garden. DD1 will pop in this morning after dropping GD2 off at school, she is sitting A level maths today🤞

Wishing everyone a pleasant sunny day and special thoughts to those with health worries or ongoing difficult concerning times
