Adverts on GN

Is it just me, or are there others who find the ads on GN to be increasingly annoying. Sometimes I feel as though I am playing some absurd video game where I have to dodge advertisements just to read the actual postings. Then sometimes I fail in scrolling and suddenly up pops some Egyptian copper outfit or a pair of sandals I dont want, then I have to press back-back-back only to lose my place. Thanks a lot 😤

News is the same thing: so annoying these days !

Some months ago someone asked a similar question about how to block the ads and the advice from one poster was to scroll down to the bottom of the page where you will see Privacy settings, where you are able to choose to block the ads. Once you’ve done that, at the bottom of that page you have to click on ‘save and exit’

Like you I was getting fed up with the intrusive things, so I followed those instructions and hey presto it worked!
Recently though the ads have come back so I just repeat what I did before.

I am on an IPhone so I don’t know if it also works in the same way for the Desktop site.

Hopefully someone else will be able to advise about that!

Thank you so much! I will give that a try. Great tip.

I hope it works!
The ads are so annoying aren’t they?

I do not see any adverts on GN. I have installed an AdBlocker.

I know exactly what you're saying! Not just on GN but everywhere else, especially the animated ones.

On my mobile I play basic games like Screwdom, Snoopy Pop etc. and the never ending adverts drive me loopy!

Great chunks of spaces are taken up by adverts on my emails! And on YouTube!

Thankfully I don't have a telly or radio!

Thank you, JenniferEccles, I'll try it!

Oh you are welcome everyone!
It’s very unusual for me to be of any assistance in anything tec related!
I can’t claim any credit really as I was just passing on instructions from another poster on an earlier thread but I can’t remember who it was!

Install an AdBlocker an it gets rid of all adverts when online.
