Thank you for the picture Corner Sammy looks very cute and colourful 😀
I’m just home from volunteering this morning and then a trip to Tesco. It’s bright and dry but a bit windy still, it’s good for drying the washing. I might go out into the garden for a bit of pottering this afternoon, will see.
Well done 2nd place Jax 👍
DD1 has just sent me pictures of them all enjoying the sunshine in Croatia Redcar I’m not jealous either 🤣
Hoping all kitchen pals are doing ok today, especially those struggling just now, take care all x

Redcar Tue 27-May-25 11:10:24

Sammy snail is lovely cornergran he would certainly brighten my garden.
Yesterday I managed some gardening, cut back a forsythia which had grown without my noticing, and was being blown around by the gale. Also planted up my dwarf beans in the trough outside the kitchen window. They’re just the right height for me to go and pick for dinner, when big enough of course.
I’m at DD1’s now for a few days. The dog was pleased to see me, “helped” me unpack food etc and is now in the front room barking at everyone who walks past! The dog walker will take her out for an hour later this morning, I’d like to take her out but she’d pull me over. The house is clean and tidy so nothing for me to do except unload the dishwasher! DD2 may FaceTime me later from her holiday hotel, where the weather is sunny and 32 degrees! Jealous - moi?
Thinking of the people hurt yesterday in Liverpool and their families. Also thinking of all those here who have difficulties to face.

Enjoy your Tuesday as best you can everyone.

Love Sammy Cornergran, it's another miserable day here one of my peonies has lost all its petals other one ok for now must go out today have been in since I went shopping Friday. I shampood room/dining room carpet yesterday looks a brighter today.
Thinking of those hurt in Liverpool ,can't understand why these incidents are getting more frequent ,we need tougher punishments .

Hellogirl1 Tue 27-May-25 10:33:22

He`s cute Cornergran, I`d have him if I had a garden.

Grandmabatty Tue 27-May-25 09:28:11

He's very colourful Cornergran. I couldn't have him in my garden as I have a slug and snail phobia!

cornergran Tue 27-May-25 09:23:59

Here’s Sammy snail. I named him after an old friend who always used to cheer me. Now when I look across the garden I can’t help but smile. Hope he brightens your day. It’s flipping miserable here, grey, cold and wet. Bring back blue skies!

Sorry posted this in the kitchen rather than the gm thread. There is no hope!!

Good morning all from a, currently, dry North Leicestershire.

DH is off doing a volunteer drive at 7.30. I have choir at 11.00 and then a bit of shopping at M&S.

Lovely day at DD1''s - 17 of our family in one place. I was a very happy Ma.
Have the best day possible everyone.

Jaxjacky Mon 26-May-25 22:34:14

We came 2nd in quiz, quite surprised, happily so though, one other team missing.
It’s still very windy out there with a few spots of rain on the car when we came home.
I rarely iron, most of my clothes don't need it, if I do I ask MrJ nicely, he irons all his shirts, it’s great!

Grran Mon 26-May-25 22:20:09

A quiet day at Grr House today with some cards made and a couple of walks.
Since retirement, I’m almost allergic to ironing! My DD suggested that I might buy some linen trousers but I’m afraid the thought of ironing them put me off!

G’night all, take care.

Hello kitchen people.

We’ve had a lovely day with our granddaughter. She came shopping with me this morning and enjoyed choosing various items off my list. After lunch we went to a garden centre for plants for the hanging basket - we only have one now. We let granddaughter choose a bee hotel for our garden. Finally we visited a nearby NT property in the rain! Just a quick walk followed by afternoon tea in the Tea Room.

I am now flaked out in bed and OH is watching Dr Who.

Sleep 💤 tight.

kittylester Mon 26-May-25 21:28:28

We have had a lovely day - most of our large family at DD1's for lunch and a catch up. DGS3 (18) entertaining DGS5 (6) and all the girls chatting together.

Lovely to be home with a glass of wine and the telly.

GrannyGravy13 Mon 26-May-25 21:03:04

I have had a lazy day, long telephone call with my darling sister, sorted out my jeans and yes I do need all of them

Chinese takeout for dinner, I am off to bed to read, DH is watching TV

Night night 🙋‍♀️

brook2704 Mon 26-May-25 20:40:00

I did think about the heating this evening grandmabatty but grabbed a blanket for the sofa instead! We’ll done with your driving and first trip out 👍
I’m one of the GNetters that doesn’t do much ironing nannytopsy except for a few linen tops and shirts this time of year. I just smooth out the creases and hope for the best 🤣
It’s a quiet kitchen this evening, hoping everyone is doing ok x

Nannytopsy Mon 26-May-25 19:46:27

Thinking of everyone in the quiet corner and the FGTs in particular.
I have finished the ironing !!! Of course, the washing basket is full again …

Grandmabatty Mon 26-May-25 19:23:52

Nice family photo Jaxjacky. Brook you are luckier with your weather than here today. We've had lots of rain and wind. I've even put on the heating.
My drive to Tesco this morning was successful. I spent more than I expected but it is always this! I bought a couple of things for the boys and make up for me. Came home, and played with the make up so I now have eyebrows 😂. Dinner was mince and tatties from the freezer. I'm watching rubbish on the tv and thinking about a cuppa. Enjoy your evening Kitcheners.

Jaxjacky Mon 26-May-25 16:57:43

Family have all just gone brook a few spots of rain and windy, blankets were out!
Quiz tonight, tbh I’d be happy to stay in, I’ll be fine when I’m there, might ask MrJ to drive so I can have a 🥂
I hope your BH Monday is going well all, including soop with her family and that Blossoming got out for some fresh air.

brook2704 Mon 26-May-25 14:54:47

Good afternoon kitchen pals, I’m just back home from the gym and a walk by the river. It’s a bit blustery today but mainly dry. Nothing planned for the rest of the day but lots of things to keep me busy
Hoping your BBQ is going well this afternoon Jax and the weather holds
Looking forward to Sammy’s picture corner 😀
Hoping Mr &Mrs Soop are enjoying the family get together, take care all x

hulahoop Mon 26-May-25 11:58:27

Good morning Kitcheners.

I enjoyed the final of The Piano so emotional so many stories but a worthy winner. I did miss Lang Lang this series nit keen on his replacement.

I also would love a Sammy snail Cornergran it is a family members name. Looking forward to seeing a picture.

Thinking of all with troubles etc 💐

Enjoy your day all

Nannytopsy Sun 25-May-25 23:26:47

Evening! We have finally used a Christmas present voucher for a posh cinema to have supper then watch the new Mission Impossible film. It was very exciting!
We had a bit of rain but today was windy, so the soil will soon dry out. We managed to tie up one peony before it got broken
Thinking of everyone in the quiet corner xx

cornergran Sun 25-May-25 22:47:09

Hello everyone. Quick visit as we’ve an early start tomorrow in what is predicted to be wet and very windy weather. Nice!

Sammy snail would be delighted to have his photo taken, sadly his personal photographer is unavailable until later in the week when he will present his best side to the camera.

If I forget do remind me grin.

Been a sedentary day for me, still wading through photos from 2022. September now. Boring admin too. Not that the weather encouraged venturing out. Far too windy. The lawn is pink from the rose petals, good job our climbing roses are repeat flowering.

We’ve also been glued to The Piano, very emotional indeed. It was supposed to be an early night, that went well!

Thoughts go to all poorly folk and those who love them.

Goodnight everyone.

Grran Sun 25-May-25 22:32:23

Evening all. I have just finished watching The Piano, final concert. It was inspirational and I used up my tissues 😢. Well worth watching on catch up even if you haven’t been following it.

Thinking of all folk with struggles. Take care g’night.

Blossoming Sun 25-May-25 21:52:30

Another stormy day here, not fit to go out walking and more of the same forecast for tomorrow. Hope you can get some rest Doodle. Hope FGT2 and her DH are doing ok. My typing is going to pot so I’ll say good night to you all, TOYA.
