Good morning from sunny south Glos, happy Friday!
We did a new walk yesterday morning, down a long, winding lane between banks of cow parsley, foxgloves and corn cockles, up through a wood and out and along meadows. It was gorgeous. Then a long descent into the valley bottom and back up into the village where we stopped for coffee.
Returned home to find one kitchen work surface covered in ants 😵‍💫 It took me an hour to eradicate them all - never, ever had ants in the house before and no idea why this time! There was nothing there to attract them, they must have come through the partly opened kitchen window.
An afternoon in the summerhouse crocheting and listening to audiobooks was very pleasant.
Today I have art group this morning, looking forward to seeing everyone again, I will take tiddler out first and have a tidy around before I go.
I have some plants to pot up this afternoon but no other plans.
Have a lovely day 🌹

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where the sun is shining. Himself and I will be at the Christie hospital at noon as he attends for a CT scan. 🤞 Result in two weeks.

Good morning from a sunny S E Essex.

The 10 yr old couldn’t decide if he wanted dippy eggs or an egg and bacon sandwich for breakfast, so I await his decision when I wake him at 7pm.

I might go to the gym for some gentle exercise (haven’t felt well enough to go this week) but not sure, will decide closer to the time.

Our builders found a couple of dodgy joists which have played a part in our house troubles, consequently a large part of the hall, lounge, cloakroom and large cupboard floor will all have to come up so joists can be repaired before any other work can start. I am just hoping that it can all be completed before Christmas!

Sar53 I hope you manage to get an appointment and that your eye doesn’t trouble you too much.

(((Hugs))) to all,our poorly and worried morning friends 🌸

Good morning all from a bright but chilly North Leicestershire.

Another early start as DH has volunteer drive and needs to collect his passenger at 8.00.

We have a Sainsbury's delivery at 9.30 then I have to go to waitrose before meeting some old friends for lunch. Dd2 and Co will arrive at about 10pm and stay till Monday.

Good morning everyone from sunny North of Scotland. Hopefully it will stay that way for the rest of the day as I am off to a lovely Scottish wedding this afternoon. Sadly, 2 of the bridesmaids have injuries! both aged 10) First one has a broken femur due to a car accident so she will be on crutches and the second one fell in school and has scraped the skin off her entire nose sad The wedding photos will be interesting to say the least! Fingers crossed there will be no more injuries. Have a good day everyone.

Good morning all. Sunny dry start to the day in Glasgow with rain due early evening which is quite welcome as the garden needs a thorough soak.

The day is my own to do as I please. Last two geraniums to pot and I couldn’t resist buying two Augustus English lavenders yesterday. The more potted lavenders around the garden the better. I love the smell.
Now that GD1 is driving I had such a lovely surprise when both GDs arrived for a visit late afternoon. I felt quite emotional comparing them to when they were tots, arriving at ours and here they are now, choosing to visit me independently, guaranteed to lift my spirits whenever I see them. Lots of chatter and laughter.

Wishing all a pleasant day and signs of improvement for those with worries and struggles.

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. I am having a lie in until 8 am.

I am attending a lecture on William de Morgan later. Afterwards I will catch up on things at home. Our cleaner couldn’t come this week so maybe a bit of light dusting. OH will Hoover.

Have a good day everyone.

Morning Mick, morning All. Light cloud over our corner of Somerset. Sun in the forecast, a little cooler.

A busy, enjoyable day out and about yesterday once I escaped the dentist. Back next week for the anticipated filling whuch will apparently take a while as it’s complicated. Oh lucky me. Volunteering this morning then with luck and remaining energy some garden bits and bobs this afternoon.

Have the best day you can everyone.

Good morning from a bright and sunny day on the Essex coast.
I have a nasty eye infection and will try to get a doctor's appointment for later. It is very sore and red and weeping. I had one in the other eye a few weeks ago and antibiotics cleared that up.
I have a pile of ironing to tackle and then I shall sit and read. I need to choose a new book from my vast tbr collection.
I hope everyone has a lovely Bank Holiday weekend xx

Good morning from s somerset, cloudy and sun today

The allotment took my time yesterday, it is so nice up there and weeding is `in the moment` with no thinking of anything else. Over 4 hours in the sun but I made sure to wear a sun-proof long sleeved shirt and big hat. I also ate my first big sweet strawberry

I did potter at home during the afternoon and made 4 small gooseberry crumbles for the freezer. My energy only dissipated by 7 and then I had to stop myself napping and ruining my sleep plus I did take some measures to keep the inevitable aches at bay

I am raring to go today, I have one more 3 sqm bed to prep, I want to be sowing some spring -mix green manure in that bed, which I will need to cover with hoops and net, birds will like the seeds. I am hoping for rain tonight. I put phacelia in the two beds I did yesterday

Finishing my skirt is on hold, it is pinned to my mannequin and dropping by the day, bias cut viscose. No chance of me using a powder puffer to get a straight hem on that fabric so I scoured the internet for an old style hem marker on a stand, I found one. They were made in the USA and it is vintage., called orco pin-it. It is hard to do a neat hem on your own, especially on slippery bias- cut fabric

I will be home earlier today, will only be doing necessary housework as I want to do some more reading

Have a good day

Good morning from a dull but dry Torbay.

Yes, I thought of you, grandMattie, when I read of the hospital fire in Bristol on the BBC News site.
It’s good that you have a diagnosis, Marydoll and hope treatment will help.
I hope the FGT’s slept well after their long day.

Yesterday afternoon I had my RSV vaccination at our local surgery. A 75th birthday present!! 😂 The nurse warned of possible flu like reactions but I feel fine so far.

I’m hoping to take the bus into town this morning which will be my first solo trip there in several months. It’s so heartening to find that I am able to enjoy these simple pleasures again which I thought would never happen!

Wishing everyone as good a day as possible. 🦩💐🦩🥰🦩

Good morning from Malta where it is already 19°C rising to 26°C later.

Had a good day with the boys, they are such sweethearts. However, DGS1 did not want to go with his other grandparents to nursery and cried pitifully, holding his arms out to me and saying he wanted to go in my blue car. He broke my heart as I felt I was letting him down.

Had a lovely FaceTime chat with DD2 as she drove to the gym before work. The temperature in Florida is ridiculously high, she hates it!

DGD will break up for summer holidays next week, that’s her first year of high school done and dusted. She’ll be getting a driver’s permit next, I don’t know how I shall cope!😱😂

I’m off to watch the boys and I’ll be taking them to nursery for the next week or so as the other gps are off on holiday to Italy.

Sending best wishes to all for a good day.☀️

Good morning Mick and GrandMattie from north Wales where it doesn’t seem as fresh as yesterday when it stayed overcast until lunchtime before glorious sunshine for the rest of the day.

A win for my friend at last night’s bingo means I need to do some research into our next jolly - that’s today’s “chore” sorted 😉

Hope all with celebrations or on their travels are having a marvellous time 🥂, those unwell get some respite 💐and may the weatherbarn be generous with everyone 🌞

Good morning from Bristol. The early morning temperatures are still below 10C.
I was on my way to DD’s when there was a whole load of fire engines. It turned out that solar panels were on fire in the nearby maternity hospital. There were no casualties.
We had a takeaway- two actually as the girls decided they didn’t want curry, but had “eats pitta” instead.
Today, after Spanish, I’m being taken out to lunch by my neighbour and her friend!
May all be safe and contented today.
“All will be well, all will be well, all manner of things will be well” as the anchorite Julian of Norwich put it.
