Just been to Tesco to buy my batton of Tiger bread I noticed it it was considerably smaller and asked one of the assistants if it was still 80p And she said unfortunately, it was, apparently they have been told by head office there is to be no more baking in store.,bakery products will in future just be heated up from frozen
I did buy it because I had some blue cheese that needed using up. I shall not be buying it again… It didn’t even look or taste like tiger bread
The assistant also said that shortly that whole section would be disappearing..🤷‍♀️

I am afraid this is just another example of shrinking portions at the same or higher prices. Add to this the deteriorating quality of the food with fewer kitchen ingredients more additives.

Tesco in-store bakery produced stuff that actually bore a resemblance to French croissants and bread. From now on I expect it will squishy pap sold at ever increasing prices.

... cutting costs - and losing customers as a consequence. Which could, if the numbers are considerable, lead to even more cost-cutting.
