Thanks, Jaxjacky. 🥰

Remember The 1976 Minister for Drought?
Good Morning Everyone,
Its a grey cloudy wet morning at the moment here in brackley .
My usual routine of a bus trip to Bicester ,see some people I know .
Watch some cycling on TV ,and relax .
Health ,slow recovery after last Wednesday scan.
Take Care,
Mick
Thanks, Jaxjacky. 🥰
Apologies, a typo by me, it’s Gransnet FGT has been banned from, sorry I misled you
Just like to say I am thinking of fgt and himself and wish them all the best. The posts I have read from her have been nothing but kindness itself. She is such a dear lady having a difficult enough time
FGT2 has been banned due to someone reporting a post of hers.
She would like to thank all her GN virtual friends for their support and friendship over the years, especially since himself has had his diagnosis.
Whatever the trigger it was a callous decision. Where is compassion?
I agree, cornergran - moderators appear to be unaware of the bigger picture. 😡
I don't know ash. A post was deleted on a GN thread (highly unusual for FGT) and I assumed this was the cause, maybe a mis-type? Whatever the trigger it was a callous decision. Where is compassion?
My thoughts with FGT who has been banned from MN because someone reported a post.
According to Jaxjacky, she was banned from Mumsnet so does that affect her right to post on this site as well? Cruel to say the least.
Why on earth would FGT be banned. Just at a time she needs all our support! I have not seen her post anything that would warrant it. Cannot understand this.
Good morning all. A mixture of rain, sunshine with patches of blue appearing through a mostly grey sky in Glasgow this morning.
Not set plan for today especially after such a rotten night of broken sleep and nightmares. I will be a go with the flow type of day.
I was shocked to read FGT has been banned! My thoughts are with you both as I strongly identify with your difficult circumstances and now, more upset for you.
Have the best day you can all.
I am struggling to understand why anyone would report FGT and get her banned. I am forced to conclude that there are people who take pleasure in hurting others even if they don’t know them. Bizarre behaviour.
A domestic day beckons as we are forecast thunder showers though it’s just a bit grey at present. I made the mistake of looking for a particular necklace in a box of numerous others. They have spent the last year tangling themselves together and it took an age to sort them out; decided I would put each one in a small polythene bag only to find the relevant kitchen drawer a chaotic mess so that will need tackling first. Good thing I have no commitments!
Morning, everyone from a wet and windy south coast. I’m also angry about FGT being banned. I’m beginning to wonder if some of the box ticking at HQ is done by robots!
Just waiting for DD to pick me up as we’re going to Broadlands for a horticultural show. The weather forecast is awful! 😮😩
Hope everyone has as good a day as possible and love to the FGTs
I’ve just tried to message FGT and wasn’t able to. I don’t have her email. ☹️😢🤬🤬🤬🤯
So sorry to read about FGT please send her my best wishes if you are in touch with her.
Good morning everyone from cloudy rainy Lancashire.
Yesterday was not one of my better days as I seemed to have no energy after a poor night’s sleep. The damp weather seems to set off my aches and pains. I am feeling less fatigued this morning after a lovely warm shower, now enjoying a mug of tea.
I used to leave my wallet at home whenever I walked across to the Marina Karma! The coffee shop always has tempting goodies on display and the shop sells Weird Fish and Lazy Jacks clothing.
I’m shocked to read that FGT2 has been banned, I can’t imagine she posted anything awful.
As always, my thoughts are with those dealing with illness and troubles, I hope the day brings you some comfort.
Have the best day you can, happy Saturday 🌹
Good morning everyone from a decidedly damp and grey Northampton, set to be like this all day. I believe DD is playing in an open air concert in a churchyard this afternoon, but it looks like they will have to decamp into the church.
So it will be a day indoors for me; have no plans, so reading, the.newspapers, and TV beckon. I'd go to the cinema but there are no films on that I fancy.
Saddened to read that FGT2 has been reported, someone obviously has no heart.
Hope all have a pleasant day. Off to toast a crumpet.
Good morning from a cool, grey NE, the heating is on.
Had a lazy day yesterday, binged watched several episodes of The last anniversary, I think Miranda Richardson plays a good part.
DS and GD2 are going to visit this afternoon, I haven't seen them for a month due to various holidays. I look forward to a musical evening.
Thinking of the FGTs.
Have a good weekend.
Morning all,
Sunny here at the moment but it’s not expected to last and yet more rain is due. At least the grass looks lush once again.
I’m glad you are feeling better Mick.
Fingers crossed for Iris, GrandMattie.
WHAT IS GOING ON????
FGT HAS BEEN BANNED!!
Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Still not very warm but dry.
I had to nip out for milk before my cuppa this morning. Sharing a house with my young helper is a mixed blessing.
My word Bella. If there was an award for devotion to grandchildren... at least you got to watch the tennis!
I have visitors for coffee this morning and may go to a local concert tonight in aid of the Maggie's centre, cancer support. There is a classical concert too which appeals.
Tomorrow my garden is hosting our annual party for the volunteers at the Storehouse. 40 chairs and several tables will be borrowed from the Town Hall and my helper will help put up the gazebos. The café staff will cater and all I have to do is fill vases and turn up.
in theory
I have an appointment for my second cataract op at the end of the month, postponed from February. At least now it will be in Edinburgh as the eye hospital has reopened. Hurrah!
It's good that Iris won't be waiting too long now. gMattie
Hoping everyone has a happy weekend.
Morning Mick, morning All from a very wet corner of Somerset. Looking at the sky there much more to come.
No Briths Gas resolution, on to the regulator now, when I can summon the energy, it’s no less than 382 days since the complaint was first made.
A sad call from a good friend, no further cancer treatment is possible, she’s been told to enjoy the summer as it will be her last. We’re working out how we can get to see her, if she’d like us to, distance is a real barrier these days. Too far for a day for sure. Also heard my oldest friend is very unwell in the care home, her daughter is distraught. It all feels very heavy.
Indoor bits and bobs today, little sleep last night has left me fuzzy headed and achey. It will pass as I hope the rain will, it would be good to get outside for a while.
Good news for Iris, grandmattie. 🤞 for success this time.
Thinking of all with personal mountains to climb. Have the best day you can everyone.
Good Motning from Durham, where it’s been raining. Woke ridiculously early, but managed to get back to sleep.
DGS2 has his 4th birthday party this afternoon - I’ll go early, as parking is difficult. I predict Bedlam! Hope I get cake.
My SIs-in-L was always going to take me to Cheshire Oaks, but her driving is shocking. Luckily, she’s quite near Bridgemere Garden Centre, so that’s where we went instead.
Thoughts (memories) with the FGTs as they embark on the next stage of himself’s illness.
Hopefully, no more hiccups for Iris either.
Best wishes to all. X
Good morning Michael and all GNs. I’m glad you’re feeling better, Mick.
It’s going to be a damp day in South Yorkshire so I fancy not a lot will be going on outside. Last night DD, SiL, GS and I celebrated the end of GS’s exams at a lovely Indian restaurant that is a family favourite. Always busy, wonderful food and attentive service. If their mustard and black pepper lamb chops were the last thing I ate on this earth, I would be happy. I came home late and slept like a top last night. I have a food shop to do this morning, as I have something of a full house for lunch tomorrow.
Have the best day you can, folks.
Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where it is 14°C, with rain forecast.
Fingers crossed for Iris and Susan, I hope your grandchildren feel better today. It is not easy looking after unwell grandchildren, when we are unwell ourselves.
Most of yesterday was spent setting up for our parish fête, I crawled into bed last night.
I am running the wheel of Fortune and have over the years, perfected a foolproof way to prevent people saying they had won, using tickets from a previous spin.
The tickets took hours to make and I hid my bag, full of posters, tape scissors etc in what I thought was a safe place.
I went back later to find they were missing.😱 Panic ensued.
It turned out, that stall holders had helped themselves to them and my shoebox of tickets ( despite being labelled) ended up on the bric a brac stall!!🤣
The teamwork was amazing, lots of unexpected volunteers turned up to help,
Unfortunately, due to the weather, we have had to move some stalls inside. I was really anxious about spending three hours in the rain. However, I pulled rank and and commissioned a large side room for the Wheel. It was handbags at dawn, fighting with the toy stall holders !! 😉
Who are friends of mine,
The fête finishes at 2pm, then I have to open up the church at 3pm for Vigil Mass, I will be on my knees by tonight, so a takeaway beckons.
I thought I was doing well, covering up how unwell I am.
However, I was puzzled, when people asked if I was OK. I saw myself in the mirror and did not recognise the old lady, who was staring back at me! 😱
My sister in law's friend asked me to pick her up. Whilst waiting for her, a parishioner in her nineties and still comes to Mass came out of a house, that was another ten minutes of chatting.
Then a former pupil, whom I taught, as well as his child, came out of his mother's house. On asking how his family were, I was stunned to hear that his marriage had broken up, he was living with his mother and had resigned from his teaching post in Dollie's school.
I had no idea how to respond to that.
On the journey to church, my SIL's friend, informed me that SIL's behaviour was becoming bizarre. She has fallen out with everyone, including her family and the parishioners in her church.
She is such a troubled soul. 😪 the news has left me very unsettled.
Anyway, I need to go. The stallholders are all at early Mass (with the exception of me), followed by breakfast. I take hours to get going in the morning!!
I wish you all a pleasant day and best wishes to all, including the FGT's, who are struggling.💕
PS. Sally, I have Cheshire Oaks envy! 💚
Good morning from a dull and rainy Black Country.
Memory Cafe yesterday with Mum, then lunch out afterwards. She had an appointment for an eye test with Boots, in the afternoon, but they rang to cancel as the only Optician due in that day called in sick. So a new appointment made for a months time.
Finish packing today as we are off to a Hotel near Birmingham Airport later this afternoon, ready for our morning flight to Portugal tomorrow. Going to Lagos first then after 5 days, onto Albufeira. The cost of a 2 hour train journey from Faro to Lagos is 4.05 Euro each. Compare that with the cost of train journeys over here.
Wishing you all the best day possible with special thoughts to FGT and himself
Morning all from a damp West Oxfordshire.
The WI coffee morning was great fun yesterday. Coffee and coffee cake - yummy.
Towards early evening OH’s swarm of bees, which he had captured a few days before seemed to be ensconced in the hive so he sealed them in carefully! Once the hive was wrapped in sheets he put it carefully in his car and drove off to meet his friend who had lost his bees. The handover took place, they had a pint in the pub and OH drive back home.
Today is an Arts Festival in a village about half an hour away. It happens every other year. Last time OH bought a cartoon and I bought a print. I hope the rain keeps off. We can’t go tomorrow as we are hoping to sell more honey at a car boot sale.
In the light of the FGT2 shenanigans, I have sent her a message, which I hope she will receive.
Have a good day.
