Good Morning Tuesday 10th June 2025

Good afternoon, Michael12 and all!

I'm on a 1/2 hour work break! From the local bakery I've got a hot cheese and chicken slice and a takeaway hot chocolate, yumyum!

I'm sat on the park bench having them and it's incredibly windy which is how I love it! There's a gorgeous pigeon hanging around trying to mug me for a bit of my slice so I tossed a bit to him as I love those birdies!

It's nothing personal against my work colleagues but I don't like taking my breaks in the staff room as most either spend their time gossiping and stood around with their pointy elbows stuck out or keep trying to either interrupt me when I just want to read and guzzle hot chocolate so I come to the park and make a big fuss of passing dogs and read my latest obsession - The Last 10 Seconds by Simon Kernick. !

I'm on from 6am to 6pm this time!

Must shoot, back to my lovely residents! Have a good one all of you!

Good morning everyone from sunny Lancashire. Sorry you’re still getting some problems Mick, hope it settles soon.

Yesterday we went for our usual walk to the dock gates before lunch, instead of waiting until afternoon. Despite the clouds it stayed dry until late evening.

After lunch I tackled the last of the wardrobe shelves. There are two small storage boxes to do today. I think they may contain thermal vests and suchlike, packed away in the warm weather.

I took it slowly as my TMJ was very sore yesterday and the slightest movement aggravated it. Co Codamol and a soft diet has helped calm it down, I’m feeling tired and washed out just now which is the usual outcome of this ghastly pain and painkillers. It feels much better today but I’ll try not to aggravate it again by tackling too much. I think I need a new night splint but a trip to the dentist is out of the question at the moment. I’m usually very good at keeping on top of dental hygiene but my last appointment had to be cancelled when I was in hospital.MrB has done the shopping, I have had a shower, just need to dry my hair. Then we’ll see about going for a walk

Morning all from West Oxfordshire.

Yesterday’s craft group with my neighbour was fun. I started a bead picture using black, purple and green beads.

Today I will be calling in to see friends and this evening OH and I will have the second session of our pottery course! I hope to do rather better on the wheel!

Good morning from an overcast Bristol.
At least, the wind is lighter and we are promised higher temperatures. I’m tired of being chilly.
I finished my quilt last night, including embroidering the year and my initials, as is customary, and am pleased with the result.
Empty today, but I’ll start on the next quilt, after baking for the FAB cafe tomorrow.

Good morning everyone from a brightish Northampton, a cloudy morning followed by a sunny afternoon is forecast.

DS came early yesterday morning and set up my new printer for me. We spent a pleasant hour or so together with coffee and chocolate biscuits. He volunteered to take the old printer plus the new one's packaging to the tip, so I got him to take two more large empty boxes which had been languishing in the garage for years.

I stripped the bed, washed everything including the mattress topper and got it all dry. After lunch I cleaned the garden furniture, weeded the paving under the pergola then cleaned and refilled.the birdbath.

After all that I was too tired to remake the bed, so 'camped out' on it last night using the duvet like a sleeping bag! My first job this morning is to make up the bed! Still not really warm enough to put my really lightweight one on for summer, so the spring one goes back on. Found space in a spare bedroom wardrobe to store the winter one.

Hope to get out for my 'well-being' walk after lunch. Pea and ham soup for dinner tonight so I need to get the pressure cooker out.

After quite a lot of rain and rather chilly, I hope we are in for a spell of good weather.
I’m painting a large seascape for DS, he prepped a canvas for me ages ago and I’m only just getting round to it…

Flying DD has had a very glamorous time at a hen party in Cannes with friends and colleagues, lots of photos for the fans!
I’m off to the music club this afternoon and a show locally this evening, so had an early night (for me) last night. Will miss out my power walk/run round the block this morning and conserve some energy. I’m not surprised you are tired Bella, you do have a busy time with your DGC.

Have woken with a very painful back and no explanation or excuse so am not happy. Let’s hope painkillers help as I am out to tea with a friend later and don’t want to be miserable. Wonderful Cleaner first though so need to get a move on.

Several posters have commented on their roses and ours too look terrific and are a great spirit lifter. This is really a spring garden but has lots of colour at the moment and is a real joy. Could do with a smaller garden but not with no garden at all.

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders where it's dry and feels a little warmer.
Yesterday it poured for our history group walk so afterwards I invited them home to mine for coffee as I live on the route.

Tonight my Gaelic class and today I
could do with another clearance of boxes and drawers and also look for a gift for DGS#1 who turns 18 in 2
weeks. Maybe not in the same place

Morning from a grey S Hants, only a glimmer of sun yesterday, probably similar today, voluntary phone was very quiet and we came third at quiz, three weeks now we’ve been placed!
I’ve got some joggers to collect later and back to the pharmacy to get a stubborn ear suctioned again.
The kitchen floor needs a wash, but without sun takes ages to dry.
Glad you had a good break Ekwa, very pretty gM I have little patience and would give up.

Morning, all from the south coast where the sun is trying to make an appearance.
U3a group allotment this morning. There will hopefully be five of us - a lot to do having been rained off twice last week. I’ll then bake my sourdough which has been resting in the fridge overnight. Such a long process so I hope it will be worth it!!

Another breezy and cloudy start to the day though it’s meant to brighten up, so I hope to plant the plants I bought on Sunday later, if the breeze eases off a bit.

Another beautiful quilt Grandmattie, you are very talented.
Perhaps a tonic might help you, Bellasnana, but as suggested, maybe a check if you’re feeling tired a lot.

Cramp in the feet is awful Greyduster. I get it regularly. Apparently (but I don’t know if it works or not as I haven’t tried it yet), but when you get cramp it helps to inhale deeply and then release the breath very slowly, several times. I’m assured it does help. I was given this tip only the other day. Worth a try, I suppose.

A busy day yesterday Marydoll. I hope today will be quieter for you. Glad you found your phone - I wonder how it ended up there? 😁.

So true baubles. This morning, all at the same time, dgs1 wanted honey nut flakes and paper for drawing while dgs2 wanted the kids YouTube channel on his iPad and Weetabix then had a paloorie because I made it with warm milk and he wanted cold milk. I had to sort out the password for his iPad at the same time. All within the first five minutes!

A lovely man talked me through ‘mending’ my Hive Hub over the phone yesterday. It had failed to connect after I changed the batteries. What a faff!
Today, I’m meeting a friend for coffee at a local garden centre this morning, then I have a dental appointment this afternoon. I am very concerned - new chap and I’m an anxious patient. It doesn’t bode well.

"Ouch" re the foot cramp, Greyduster. I find wearing bedsocks helps as I get it if my feet are cold.

Both our Mums died last year within a few months. Mine very suddenly and MiL after a short illness. We had 2 houses to clear in quick succession. My Mum's was extra quick because she rented so I only had 2 weeks to clear everything.
A lot of bigger items went to hospice charity shops local to them but I'm still working my way through boxes that came to us.
I'm going to spend part of this morning going through a couple more boxes. Our daughter was back this weekend so she chose a few small keepsakes to take back with her.
We're storing Mum's blanket box until she buys her own house as it seems silly to move it twice and she doesn't really have space for it in her current studio apartment.

This afternoon I'll go for a walk between showers. I started a walking app 4 weeks ago. Some days it's hard work, but I'm determined to persevere.

Good morning Mick and everyone from sunny Carlisle.

I have returned from a week in the south, a few days with DS1 and family followed by a visit with my sister on the way back when I also got to see my niece and brother. Every day cool and showery as it also was when I arrived back here.
I have been eating for England, I dared not get on the scales this morning! Cutbacks in the feeding department are in order though there are tempting leftover goodies from DS1's visit to dispose of, probably not in the waste bin....

Today, a lot of laundry to deal with and I can probably forgo the vacuuming etc, just a bit of tidying then it's outside in the garden. My peas have grown amazingly in a week, the red and black currants are colouring but my runner beans look ill so another failure there this year.

Good morning from South Lanarkshire. It isn’t raining, hurray!

Bellasnana I’m not surprised that you’re tired, looking after little children is exhausting as I’m sure Grandmabatty knows. There are times when I’m incapable of speech on the drive home if it’s been a difficult day with the children and there are two of us.

Speaking of children, DS’s eight year old has decided to be vegetarian but isn’t hugely keen on vegetables which is making finding family meals tricky. Their oven isn’t working so everything has to be cooked on the hob. They must be getting tired of the pasta I’ve been making each week.

Charity shop shift today and yarn group this evening. I’m not doing very well with my Christmas granny squares, I work better when there’s a tight deadline I think.

Good morning all from a breezy Glasgow, where it is 11°C.

Beautiful quilt, GM. My maternal granddaughter made quilts, but she died when I was four, so I never got a chance to learn from her.

Yesterday did not go to plan. After sorting out the raffle winners and labelling them, I called it a day, for I was seriously flagging. Ridiculous as it seems, I feel my as if my body is failing. I can't put my finger on it.
I went to get my bag from the safe, where I always leave it, but my phone wasn't there. I searched everywhere, but no sign of it. The P.P phoned it, but then I remembered it had been on mute ( DH complains about) the number of messages I get at late at night)
I retraced my steps to the presbytery, parish church and parish hall, but it was nowhere to be found.
Monday is a very busy day, the counters are in, the linen ladies change the linen and I needed a Safeguarding catch up with the P.P.
I began to wonder if someone had picked it up by mistake.

Remembering that there was a find my phone app, I anxiously went home to track the phone on my P.C. According to the map , my phone was in the bushes in the park, next to the church! 😱
DH offered to come back with me. There was no sign of the phone, although it was still showing on the app. We searched the church, parish hall and presbytery, zilch!
DH asked me where I last had it and I showed him where I usually keep my bag. I don't know what prompted me to move the money buckets, but lo and behold, there was my missing phone, lying in a corner.
How it got there, I have no idea!!

Tomorrow, we have the funeral of a former Provost, it will be so busy, that the Police will be directing traffic. I have an emergency dental appointment first thing tomorrow and won't be there. My mouth is unbearably painful and I am so hoarse.
Consequently, I need to go down later today, put reserved signs on pews for dignitaries and check everything is prepared.
I long for a quiet day.

This morning I’ve got cleaning to be getting on with and then this afternoon I’ve got a volunteering session. Yesterday 11yr old DGS left for a week long school trip to an outdoor centre in the Cairngorms, it rained heavily all afternoon but hopefully didn’t stop them doing anything!

Good morning from a cloudy W Kent. Off to Bluewater this morning so DH can try and get his phone sorted out. Home for a quick snack and then the U3A meeting followed by the hairdresser. Seems a busy day.
Yesterday with DF was lovely, after 55 years we still have fun meeting up and catching up.

Good morning from s somerset, could be showers this morning, some sun later

I avoided hills on my walk yesterday, my body told me to avoid and I listened. I did make another skirt when I arrived home and cut out a very useful all-season dress

This morning I will be prepping some fresh veggies ready for salads, this afternoon will be cycling to the allotment, I have weeding to do

Pesky slugs got into a low net-covered area at home yesterday and almost decimated my brassica plugs, I managed to `save` several plugs, re-potted and put them higher up in a small glasshouse, I took the glass off the top and covered with debris netting in case of cabbage whites. I am thinking that the closed lower doors might deter slugs

I may start to assemble my dress, fourth time of using that pattern, first one was a toile, I made alterations and now have a pattern that fits and suits me

I have still not cleaned my stove ready for the sweep, I might get that done today

Good morning everyone from mid Essex. It’s cloudy and breezy here and quite mild. Yesterday was a quiet day, walked to the post office to post a card, get stamps etc. then did some cleaning. It was Dgd1’s sports day and she won the skipping race, she was very pleased.
I need to go to the garden centre today to get a few plants to fill some gaps in the front garden, then I’ll visit my dementia friend.
