Do you get up and get out?

I totally agree that poor health or being in constant pain changes everything. It sounds corny, but it’s use it or lose it, if you can.

I cant be 'hanging around' im showered and dressed by 8:30, breakfast do a bit of a kitchen clean out for a good walk by 10 sometimes with a dog walking friend then sort the rest of tje day out after a cuppa.

I like to start the day with a walk. i am an early riser (between 6.00 - 7.00). have to wait for the daylight in winter.

Currently walking has fallen by the wayside as we are moving house and I am getting more than enough exercise, sorting and packing for a complicated move. But the moment we get into our new home I will be out again. I have already been ggoglemapping the walks I will take.

However I am in good health, poor health changes things.

I feel your pain! Seriously, I feel exactly the same as you. I used to be a real energy ball, but now I am a shadow of my former self.
Admittedly, I have cancer, which doesn’t help, even though it is slow-growing and not a threat yet, apparently, but that’s not the cause of my lethargy.
I get up, shower (not every day, sadly. Sometimes a top and tail has to do), then have my breakfast and a coffee. I have been advised to walk after my main meal because my digestive system is sluggish, and that is a real effort, not helped by the fact I have always hated walking!
I just feel sometimes that my whole life now revolves around keeping myself alive and it’s scary.

My late Dad would be mortified at lazing around and not dressed until 9am. He wore a shirt and tie every day of his life and was presentable by 7am, irrespective of his plans for the day. He lived to 96 and I still miss him.

I think thta's the way Georgesgran. Not hanging abotu doom scrolling and ranting about the news. Pointless.

Thankfully, despite minor aches and pains at 74, I try to arrange meeting friends in mornings, so I have to get up and out. Even so, on ‘empty’ days, I’m still up, dressed and make up on by 9am.
I seem to have been so busy lately, I’m looking forward to Sunday - nothing on, although I have DD2’s Little Dog here as she’s away on holiday.

I find I am hanging about far too much, low energy, aches and pains. A pattern is developing of cups of coffee and no focus.

I'm wondering about " fighting" it and getting showered and dressed. I don't think I ever saw my Dad in a dressing gown or heard my mother say " I'm tired".
Different times I suppose
