Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 13° and feels slightly cooler than yesterday morning. I had the back door open until bluebottles and wasps ventured in!
Marydoll it's rotten that you are so unwell. My heart goes out to you. Bellasnana dgs2 insists on taking his umbrella everywhere. GrandMattie te change of room t sounds particularly unpleasant.
Yesterday I stripped the bed and washed all the whites, got them dried, ironed and back on by lunchtime. I watered some pots, hoovered and tidied up generally. Still no bending! I contacted friends to catch up with their news too and sorted out paperwork. It was a satisfying day.
Today it is much cloudier and thunder is forecast this afternoon. Nonetheless I have a hoodie in the washing machine and I'll get it out shortly. Then towels to wash. I like to make the most of the dry weather when I can. That will be the extent of my work today, I expect. Lots of reading and tv watching is on the cards. I will have chicken and leek pie for dinner, if I remember to take it out of the freezer! Have a good day all

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire where - guess what - it’s going to be hot again. It is 18 outside at the moment. Yesterday, at school, I had a portable fan in the very small room I work in which was more than a blessing.
DS is coming down today to spend the day with me. I’ve booked us into the local pub for lunch. We plan to have a walk round the valley but as it is forecast to be 30 degrees by two o’clock that may be a non-starter.
Have the best day you can, folks.

Good morning from South Lanarkshire where the air felt a little fresher an hour ago but it’s warming up again.

MD I’m sorry you’re having such a rough time, tech issues aren’t what you need now. I hope today is a wee bit better.

I’ve a nail appointment this afternoon but not a lot else happening. Some ironing to be got out of the way then an hour or so in the garden with my book. I did spend an hour weeding yesterday and my back is still grumbling about it so no more today.

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

Good morning from a dry, bright NE.
Phew, yesterday was a scorcher.
Went out to lunch with my friend and wore a dress, can't remember the last time I did. There were a lot of people sitting on the terrace but we opted to eat indoors because it was much cooler inside the very old building.
WhenI returned home I spent the rest of the day in the garden reading but kept nodding off.
Today DS and GD will visit after GD's voluntary work.
Thinking of you Marydoll and all with health problems.
Have a good weekend.

Oh, MD, I’m so sad for you, being so unwell and, on top of that, the pc giving up the ghost… 🌷💐🌷🌷

Morning from high cloud and heat in S Hants, I couldn’t sleep.
Yesterday I dug out some more new potatoes, made a salad and we spent the evening outside with a couple visiting from Australia. It was very pleasant as the evening wore on and the temperature dropped after our bbq.
Today newspaper, watering and leftovers for dinner, son and fiancée are camping in the New Forest for the weekend.
Sad times Bellas

Good morning Mick and all, who follow.

I have been awake for hours, it is so muggy and I'm not feeling too good.
Yesterday wasn't such a great day, with vomiting and abdominal spasms. DS invited us up to sit in the garden last night, before they go on holiday.
I was quite upset, for I was too unwell to go and I wouldn't see my beloved Dollie and hear all her *gossip^ from her last day at school.
I'm finding life so difficult at the moment, it would be so easy to just give up.
However, that is not me, but it is blooming hard work, trying to be positive.

The icing on the cake is that my PC has packed up, due to overheating. I am in a pickle to say the least. I was nursing it along, until I bought a new PC, Windows 11, which would not be compatible with my present one.
I can't get into any of my church stuff and of course today is my busiest day. 🤬
My challenge is to work out how to edit the website on my tablet, when I don't have the links to access it.
I am a woman, nothing is beyond me!! 😉
Thinking I was being clever, I made sure that I had also set up my Diocesan email account on my tablet. All the folders are empty! Grrrrr.
What I am dreading most is asking DS2 to have a look.
I know exactly what he will say:

1. What did you do to it?
2. Why on earth do you still have all this school cr** on your P?C? 😉
Why indeed?.

A very gentle day for me methinks, apart from checking that, my hospital bag is easily accessible. Just in case😉.

My best wishes to all, who are struggling, for whatever reason i know that there are many on GN with sorrow, ill health or both, who read, do not post on this thread, but enjoy reading it. A special mention for you 💐
Also, hoping that Iris continues to make progress and enjoy your day folks, whatever your plans.

Good morning from Malta where a sunny day is forecast with a high of 34°C.

Yesterday was quite muggy and we had a rain shower around noon which the boys were excited about and both insisted on taking their umbrellas the short distance to the hairdressers while I had my weekly wash and blow dry.

They were very good boys and went off happily to nursery after their lunch.

I watched tennis most of the afternoon then had along chat with my nephew who called to update me on plans for my brother in law’s funeral. Evidently they now think he might have choked so there will be an inquiry on 30th July but an interim death certificate has been issued so the funeral can go ahead.

My nephew is meeting with the undertakers on Monday to try and fix a date, probably after 7th July so I should have time to get organised to fly to UK.

Today, usual cleaning and tidying up. My son did the laundry yesterday so I don’t have that on my list for a change!

Wishing you all a good day.☀️

Good morning from Bristol. It was the summer solstice yesterday and I didn’t realise it!
The Spanish class was very odd as there were only two of us. We talked about Argentina - our homework - watched a couple of videos and had long chats in Spanish. My suggestion of going to a coffee shop was laughed off 😁
The afternoon was very warm, too hot for me. Having been brought up in the tropics, people expect me to enjoy the heat. No, I don’t, especially not in the high 20s!
Today, I’m serving coffee but, because the church is being used to rehearse “the pirates of Penzance”, I have to transport everything to a side room with no facilities. It is also airless. I’m going to be wiped out by the end…
Enjoy the weather, those who like high heat. Make sure you freeze your hot water bottles, those who don’t!
